Sardine Factory Ratings and Reviews
Went with some friends who had never been. We we treated royally by entire staff. Tomatoes salad was amazing, sweet ripe tomatoes. Abalone was a bit disappointing. Breaded and fried overpowered tenderness of the abalone.
Has been a few years since we were last there since then they have remodeled . It's much brighter and fresh inside, you also have dinning room options but must ask for the different diningroom choices. The service was on point and the food was excellent and fresh. We will continue to visit the Sardine Factory when in Monterey.
We went to the Sardine Factory to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful evening of great food and service. The entire team truly made us feel like we were the "most important people in the world". I look forward to our next visit!
We ate in the Captain's room which vey nice and quiet. The food was excellent and the variety of dishes was outstanding. All of the food items ordered by the four of us was extremely delicious. We will definitely return to this fabulous jewel within Cannery Row.
This is an amazing restaurant - beautiful decor, gorgeous food and great service. Extremely elegant and cosy environment - great for special occasions as it’s reasonably pricey, but worth every penny.
Always the best dinning experience great food but even better service. We try to eat here when we are in Monetary and it never disappoints. The only other restaurant that I know with this quality of service is the Hobit in the OC. The wine list is quite extensive, but don't worry Steven will help you make a selection for your taste. My only regret is we live so far away.
The food is fabulous! The presentation of the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
We came for the wine list and stayed for the piano man. We ate our way through Monterey and had to take in the Sardine Factory experience. We were seated in the Conservatory, which is pure magic, and presented with perfect service. The wine list is everything they said it would be, and the food was delicious. The oysters Rockefeller we so rich and scrumptious!
Vacationing in Monterey and had our 10 year wedding anniversary here. The staff went above and beyond. We sat in the conservatory room which was quiet and romantic. Started off with the cheesy bread (which we should have skipped because I could not finish my dinner). Husband had prime rib and said it was the best he ever had. I had a pasta dish with shrimp which was delicious but filling. After dinner we sat in the lounge/bar area with the piano man. Had so much fun!!
Great waiter. Wonderful food &
ambience. Had a great time!
We had a delightful evening, starting with the sommelier, who took us to their "catacombs" to see their wine cellar. The wine list is spectacular, and the food is wonderful. Would definitely go here again!
We had dinner with friends celebrating their 35th anniversary. The seating in the conservatory was sparkling and beautiful. The Restaraunt gifted our friends with a serving of chocolate ganache cake which they let us sample. Delicious!
We used to visit Sardine factory 20 years ago as newly weds. We went back for the first time in 16 years and found it even better than we remember. Fantastic evening.
We have been here many times and always enjoy the excellent food and service. Very much worth coming to this delightful old school restaurant.
It started with the ambience of the captains room, it's invigorating, we were the first ones to be seated in this room.
The wine selection was extensive and our choice, excellent.
Food selections for every palate, well cooked, delicious and very good presentation.
The service was personable, unrushed, and welcoming.
We were treated like royalty from beginning to end. Service was exceptional with the food presentation done with a flair. We had the lamb chops, abalone, veal, and the prawn special. All were well prepared and tasty.
Service at the Sardine Factory is excellent. Great attention to detail and very personal service. Food quality is good to very good but not exceptional however presentation is excellent. Atmosphere is quite nice and i would recommend it to anyone traveling to the Monterey/Carmel area.
Server lost control. Food arrived and he was still looking for the wine. Manager and sommalier jumped in to recover, but overall the service was sub-par.
Had the abalone without the mushrooms. It was very good and the service was impeccable. First visit to the restaurant was in 1968 and it is even better now!! Several of the staff remembered me from previous visits even though over the last 10 years, I have been in fewer than two times per year. It was my wife's birthday and they had the entire atrium singing Happy Birthday.
We have been here two times this week! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and all of the people that we have encountered. I would go as far as saying he best meal we've ever had - and - we eat and frequently. I highly recommend this restaurant. The Oysters Rockefeller are a must!
Very lovely experience. We sat in the glass portion of the restaurant which is beautiful. Servers were very helpful and very pleasant. One of our group was served the wrong dinner, it was corrected very quickly.
Excellent food and service! The staff is always friendly. The food always fresh from the oven. Absolutely love the Sardine Factory!
Súper recomendable, fue una gran sorpresa, la comida de alto nivel, con buena selección de vinos de todo el
Con placer volvería!
Everything was fantastic! We ordered too much food but every bite was delicious! Fried calamari! Seared scallops, pork chop, side of asparagus and tater toots!! My wine was paired perfectly with each dish!
It has variety food selection and delicious. Quiet and romantic setting in backroom, good service
Awesome food, great service and wonderful ambience!
Sorry, but for the price, this supposedly upscale restaurant failed. The wine was nice and I expected to pay the money for that. The mussel appetizer was tasteless as was the crab stuffing for the overcooked prawns and the "heirloom cioppino sauce" for my halibut. The waiter could have been more attentive. Won't be back, had better food and service at Coper's Pub.
The sardine factory has not kept up. The service got off to a slow start. They tried hard to make up ground. The food was very OK - not in sync with contemporary taste. The restaurant is resting on its reputation.
