Saranello's Ratings and Reviews
Great experience! Our server Joann was the best. She went out of her way to make sure our daughter had a great birthday at Saranello’s. Food was on point, as always, but it was the service that stood out. Our daughter who is 3 is still asking about Joann. Thank you
Excellent Brunch! All you can eat buffet, flavored mimosa, and excellent service. I thought it was a great touch that the server offered to create a Mimosa for us with the assortment of flavors/ purees they have. If the food didn't speak for itself, she offered great suggestions.
great Sunday buffet. there were many parties going on the day we were there but the staff replenished the food constantly and always fresh. great mimosas which was included in the price. staff professional and courteous. I don't think there is abetter place for a Sunday brunch (buffet style) in the north suburbs
Saranello's is a solid option for fresh, flavorful Italian food and friendly attentive service. Vegetarians only have a handful of options: 1 pasta dish, eggplant parmesan, a pizza and salad.
Dining room is large and open with many tables, so it's not a quiet, intimate environment. Bathrooms are inconveniently located at the far side of the restaurant and up a long, narrow stairway - unusual for a newer suburban location.
I've eaten there with many others and everyone always enjoys the food and has a good time. I'll continue to be a repeat customer!
Server was just there to take order, ordered appetizer and took over a half an hour. Manager did come by and explain delay, but was still charged for it. Also, I wanted to replace my potato for another vegetable when I ordered it, I was give the vegetable charged for it, and I still had the potato on my plate I didn't want. This visit was disappointing. Not sure if I will return.
My friend and I had been to Saranello's before and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent and so was the food. This most recent visit was beyond disappointing. Horrible service and attitude from our server. We ordered a glass of wine and my glass had lipstick residue on it. We didn't bother with ordering food. We left and ate at another restaurant. Definitely expect better from a LEYE restaurant.
A Thursday night and every table taken. Saranello’s is very, very good. On the spur of the moment we decided to go to Saranello’s. It was outstanding. The moment we walked in and we were greeted by Nate, Mark and Matt. Service by Brittney. It doesn’t get much better. The beginning of another outstanding dining experience. We started with the warm, crusty bread and delicious oil. We love the grill Calamari with arugula. My husband asked for more arugula to go with the calamari. It was there in a blink of a eye. Then a cup of Minestrone soup that we shared. Just to have a taste. I had the Burrata cheese ravioli and he had the House Favorite Pork Chop with apples and pomegranates. Add a side of the grilled Brussels Sprouts and you have perfection. For dessert the Creme Brûlée with berries. Outstanding dining experience. The crowd around us were happy and we felt the same way.
We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival (we had a reservation). Our server was beyond spectacular. We wanted to order a bottle of wine and despite how busy it was (New Years Eve) he brought our table a glass of each for us to taste. He was prompt, friendly, and tentative. The food was delicious and the pasta was to die for. I will be back!
Another great meal, started out with the stuffed mushroom caps. Had the eggplant parmesan, ricotta and spinach gnocchi, whitefish, and the special bacon stuffed scallops. Everything was delicious, but there were only 3 scallops for a 28 dollar serving. That is not good. The warm apple crostada and bamboloni desserts were excellent as well. Service was spotty, had to ask multiple times for bread and olive oil. Not as great an experience as we have had in prior visits.
We just ate at Saranello’s on Friday and my husband wanted to go back Saturday. He loves Saranello’s. Especially with Brittney and Jake. I’ll agree with him. Their service is the best of any restaurant I’ve ever been to in Chicago and many other cities. Last night Michael came over and said hello. We love his food and the concept of his restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed the moment. We started with grilled squid and arugula with that delicious dressing. I had the Pork Chop with apples and pomegranate and he had the Scallops with bacon surrounded by sweet potato purée and Brussels sprouts. We shared our entrees. Incredibly delicious. For dessert we had gelato with fresh berries. Perfect dining experience. Saranello’s was full of life and looked beautiful.
Always great food. We were disappointed that at 5:45 when there was plenty of seating in the main dining room we were seated in the bar area. Because of the freezing temps, every time the door to the restaurant was opened we felt an arctic blast. I sat with my winter coat on during the meal and even mentioned to the waitress that it was freezing. Not a single managercame over to check or ask us if we were ok.
We were a family of seven that went to Saranello's to celebrate a special occasion. A small private room was available for us, which turned out great.
Our waiter was awesome. He was friendly, polite and very attentive to our needs. His suggestions led us to the group family-style dining, which is an incredible bargain for the quality and quantity of what everyone had.
Food was excellent and prepared very well.
Great food, great time, great place to go.
We had a new server whose name is Dino. Very good addition to Saranello’s. Very prompt and knowledgeable. We started with the bread. I don’t say this too often, the fresh bread is so good. Next a delicious salad and bowl of Minestrone soup. Delicious. Chicken parmigiana with a side of angel hair pasta. Very delicious. We have to share the entree because it’s huge. Just a outstanding restaurant at a excellent price.
It was Christmas Eve but we had a 7:45 pm reservation and the restaurant was not overly crowded. BUT, we waited for over 45 minutes for our meal and I could tell that other tables were experiencing the same issue. Our waitress was VERY NICE and did her best, but I suspect the issue was in the kitchen where they must have been understaffed. We have been to Saranello's several times including a Christmas eve 3 years ago ( when our experience was much better ) but given the frequent misses I have experienced -especially as of late, I doubt I will be coming back.
Very disappointed with the food and service. Food served was cold. Chicken with the chopped was not edible. Fish served was very ordinary and potatoes were full of butter. We dine frequently at Lettuce Entertain You restaurants and this definitely did not measure up to the standard we have been accustomed to.
