Saranello's Ratings and Reviews
Saranello’s. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in America. I just returned from the west coast of Florida and I enjoyed some great food. Sea Scallops, Grouper, Crab, Fresh Oysters and some great wines. Saranello’s is better. Think about it. I have the best service of any restaurant At Saranello’s from Jake, David and Brittney. Tonight Brittney was, as always, Outstanding. I tell her to match the wines with the meals. Incredible pairing. White wines with Octopus and Squid Salad, a wonderful Pinot with the best Pork chop with pomegranate Apple side. The Saranello’s Pork Chop is so juicy with a crust that will make you simply say...ohhhh, so good. The Pinot Brittney picked was perfect. I can only say the pasta is homemade and excellent. Brittney made a special ice cream dessert for us with fresh fruit. Outstanding! Another wonderful dining experience. I like to enjoy my dining experience slowly. It’s so romantic. Thank you Saranello’s.
Met out of town friends. There were 6 of us. We ordered salads and main course. Waiting, waiting, waiting for our food. Waiter not to be seen. Suddenly they're serving our entrees and there were no salads. Oops, they'd missed them around the corner (really for 30 minutes?). "Do you want us to wrap them up to take home?" Uh, I think not! The salad charges were removed and we did get free dessert.
This wouldn't be a BIG deal, except this is our third time there with similar poor service. Not going back.
Server was rushing us to order when we wanted to enjoy our wine and wait until our appetizer arrived. She also never acknowledged it was a birthday celebration even though it was noted on the ticket. She also was annoyed when we didn’t order the bottle of wine she recommended.
The service was not so good, our calamari appetizer was an embarrassment. The server proceeded to let us know the Chef was having a bad night, he would buy us another one. We were insulted by this comment as anyone could look at it and see the portion was ridiculous. He brought us another appetizer, and when we were finished eating, brought us a third.
Something was off at the restaurant.
This was a very disappointing meal. The food was mediocre at best (after finding out more than an hour after we sat down that they were out of what 2 of the 4 of us had ordered-- eggplant parm. We were surprised-- not sure I have ever been to an Italian restaurant that ran out of eggpalnt parm.) Service was SLOW and spotty. Well meaning, but was not a well paced meal. Won't be back. Don't think this is a restaurant one goes to for a well prepared meal-- it is more of a big box restaurant.
Love this place- made a reservation for a Saturday night - 5 days prior - requested a booth near the bar. The four of us were celebrating a wedding anniversary and a birthday .We arrived on time and waited at least 20 minutes before we were told our table would not be ready. We asked if there were any other booths available. No dice- we said we would wait and have cocktail at the bar. Took the bartender 15 minutes to acknowledge us. We asked for a wine menu. He never came by to take our order and by that time the maitre d' found us a table. Although the food was delicious I will not chance this place again for a special occasion. Disappointing.
This was our 6th time at this restaurant. The food is always good - excellent. We had a problem with a very badly placed crack on a water glass. The manager was appropriate in his reaction and comped us on drinks. The specials were super, but mispriced by $8 in the billing system. Management took care of this also.
We love this restaurant and will be back.
We were seated on time for our reservation which was great. The server was very nice but we think he had too many tables as we had to wait for several things during our meal.
Everyone liked their food very much. My chicken Parmesan Was excellent.
We will definitely come back again.
I have been a frequent diner at this restaurant as the food is consistent, excellent and a good value. However, this was the worst service I have ever received at a LEYE restaurant. They sat us at our reservation time and we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to greet us. I had to grab a busboy to ask where our waiter was. We then placed our drink order with a woman who told us she was doing a favor for her coworker as he was busy...another 10 minutes....our food order was placed and then no one checked in on us if we needed anything almost until the food arrived. After the meal, no one cleared our plates and we received the check before the plates were gone. I mentioned to the waiter that it would be nice to have had the table cleared. He replied, "That's for the bussers...(or something like that)" We left the table with plates and remnants of dinner on the table. Very Bad!
Two of us tried the short ribs entree and really liked it; fork tender. However, our waitress kept asking us if we wanted to order and we felt rushed by her. She also presented the appetizer specials as if they were one appetizer. We ordered and were charged for two separate dishes. She also pushed the expensive entree special which we ignored.
Love the restaurant but won't be seated with that waitress again.
Saranello's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. It is our "go to" for special occasions. We have been to the Sunday brunch several times and it's been outstanding. Yesterday was a huge disappointment. The food was cold and/or overcooked. However, our waitress was absolutely amazing and she did everything possible to make our experience better. I will avoid brunch in the future.
We've been a few times before, the food is always good/prepared well. Enjoy meeting friends there or sitting at the bar with family but on this night the service was HORRENDOUS! Arrived early so sat at the bar. Bartenders ran all around; was a busy time but not one said, 'oh, sorry for the wait, I'll be just a moment'. They ran around. avoided eye contact...getting served was delayed. Sat down at table...same thing. Had a waiter, then another woman took over mid-service. It'll be a long time before I feel like going back.
We normally enjoy dinner at Saranello's. On this evening, however, the service
was awful. We waited 20 minutes before our water glasses were filled. From that point on, we did not see our server for what felt like an eternity. Finally I went to flag down a manager and
told him that we were being sorely neglected. The manager rudely took our order as if we were
disturbing him. After our salad course was served, we did not see our entrees for almost one hour, at which time my chicken was served lukewarm at best. The entire evening was upsetting. It will be a long time before I go back there.
Our service was outstanding. However, the noise and ambience is not my thing. On top of that my wife got the chicken and peppers and the white meat was very dry. She actually could not eat the 2nd piece of white meat. I had the chicken parmagian. They service it on a metal plate. Not only did it smell metallic but tasted that way as well. Recommend they serve it on plate in the future. It will be awhile until we go back.
My husband is on a row. I wanted to cook and he wanted to go to Saranellos. How can service get any better than the last two nights. It did. Jake in management made sure it was a great evening and it was better than great. We had a romantic booth and service by Britt. She was not only delightful, but handled us like guests in her own home. Just beautiful. My husband had a Chardonnay with his steamed Mussels and grilled Octopus with Arugula. I had the Beet salad which he loved too. Then we had the Rib Eye steak with Vesuvio potatoes. He had a Hess Cabernet with the steak. Finally the Pumpkin cheesecake. Amazing dining experience. Thank you Jake and Britt. What a great Birthday weekend! It’s Thursday night.
Pretty much all of the food was amazing and the service was wonderful. The housemade pasta was to die for, it really does tastes better than regular pasta. I only had a bite of my son's and I'm sorry I didn't order it myself and will have to go back to get it sometime. The brussel sprouts with bacon side dish was excellent and would recommend as a must-have side dish. The only thing I didn't care for was the trout entree. My husband had the salmon, which was so succulent and delicious, but my trout was dry, slightly overcooked and had way too much black pepper on it. I like black pepper as much as the next guy, but it was a little much and all I could taste. Overall it was a great experience and I will definately go back.
What a huge disappointment. We've been to Saranello's probably a dozen times and have found it adequate if never exceptional. Service was extremely poor, with a half-hour wait for initial drinks to be delivered. Waiter was either new or disinterested; dinner took 2 1/2 hours. But I would never leave a bad review just because of poor service. What was really disturbing was the food. The waiter talked up the nightly special: "Viking" scallops. Three of our party ordered this dish, only to find a plate with copious risotto and a few dinky scallops nestled on top. My plate had 5 scallops; two were quarter-sized and three were nickel-sized. Literally just two good mouthfuls washed down with the abundant risotto. Price: $35. It will be a long, long time before we return to Saranello's.
Food great! Service not so much! Started with no open table reservation for us- which I had made. Then manager wants to seat us at high top in bar - my 85 yr old Mom and 89 yr old Aunt, really?? Do you think they could even manage that or would you risk seating them there? Server did her job but not happily. Thinking this is the training place for Lettuce Entertain You, never have this problem at their other restaurants.
Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. We sat in a quiet corner booth in the bar so it was nice for conversation. The bread came out warm but we needed to ask for more , we needed to ask for water refills and had to wait for both. My husbands eggplant came cold (and he NEVER complains). My sauce free pizza came hot and good but the runners thought it was an appetizer we were to share. We were worried that the other entrees were not coming --but they did. We were not rushed as we were in the first seating so that was a plus.
Would I go back?? If we were dining with friends who had to go then yes but it would not be my first choice
