Sarajevo Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
What an awesome experience!! Highly, highly recommend this restaurant and bar! Delicious cuisine, great service and very enjoyable. We dined for my birthday and would definitely return. Great prices. We had the lamb kabobs and the cevapi and bread with the crepes for dessert. Yum!!!!! Service was wonderful!!!
First our waitress was really nice this was surprising as they seem understaffed and she was the only one taking care of 5 tables. The appetizers and entree were good though the entree was not a lot of food for the price (medium plate of pasta for $14). Friend got the salad, lettuce was essentially burnt. If you want cheap drinks and good service then this is for you! If your vegan or vegetarian, don't really recommend.
We had a blast at this restaurant last Friday night! We had a group of 6 and surprised the waitress by asking for one of everything on the appetizer menu. She was an outstanding hostess. She suggested a couple of Eastern European liquors and beers, and guided us through some of the entrée selections to experience everything they had to offer. Thank you!
Flaming Cheese is Amazing! Goulash tastes like something out of Mama' kitchen! The hummus is a delightful delicacy! And OMG, the breads with the sauces!!! The lamb kabobs were wonderful too! The best part of our experience here at the Sarajevo Restaurant and lounge was our guy, ZAR! Do not miss an evening at the wonderful little establishment!!
We sat inside at the large open windows from where you can still see the water, in spite of a lot of construction. The tables were high for the sofa-style seats but not really a problem. The waitress was very friendly and we enjoyed happy hour cocktails. The food style is Mediterranean/Balkan and the cucumber/tomato salad was refreshing and a bit different from its Greek cousin, possibly due to the the nice vinaigrette dressing. We shared a tasty lamb kebab dish with ethnic side dishes, as the servings were generous. All in all a very nice meal (and very reasonable prices) in a neighborhood pub.
Absolutely fantastic culinary experience. Delicious, delicious, delicious. We ordered hummus, which was prepared with spectacular texture, a fantastic blend of chickpeas and spices. The bread was to die for and also offered were very welcome thick slices of carrots and cucumber; great for dipping into the richly flavorful hummus. Then along came the shrimp kabob and the lamb kabob, both made to perfection. Succulent, tender, spiced such that you cannot wait for the next taste. Both items were accompanied by perfectly made rice rich with flavor and color, a beautiful side of tsatsiki, and a bit more of that gimme-more hummus. The ambiance was sweet, with perfect Seattle summer weather having us enjoy dinner on the outside patio, and the distance thump of dance music from within the lounge allowing an enjoyable cadence to our fabulous experience. If you live in Seattle and vicinity or are visiting the beautiful Puget Sound area, you will want to make Sarajevo Lounge a frequented favorite.
My husband and I vacationed in Seattle for our 6 year anniversary and we made reservations for dinner at Sarajevo. We arrived at 8 pm and saw there was a wedding party also dining. We waited for the hostess, just inside the door. After a few minutes of not being acknowledged we went to the bar and I informed a lady about our reservation. She asked if we were with a group of 20 and I told her it was just my husband and I. She said she needed to find us seats and walked towards the back of the restaurant. After 5 minutes she had not returned. I approached the bar and waited while the bartender carried on a casual conversation with a few guys. After a couple minutes he asked what I needed. I asked if they were able to honor our reservation. The bartender said he thought we had been seated, even though we had been standing in front of the bar since the lady left. He grabbed a few menus and under his breath asked where his help was. He walked us towards the front of the restaurant, passed reserved tables. It was apparent there were seats for us so I told the guy we would go elsewhere. Thankfully there were lots of restaurants nearby because we had paid for parking and we were able to find the perfect place with great food and awesome customer service.
The food at Sarajevo Lounge is beyond good. We had the flaming cheese, which I expected it to be like Saganaki, --but it is way better. We also had the Shopska salad which was very generous, big enough to share as a side dish. The cevapi dish was extraordinary. We are going back again!
The way the restaurant is decorated is great. They have huge windows that open up to the outside so even that your sitting inside you feel as though you are dining outside. The couches are so comfortable and chic. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was great! The flaming cheese, the Balkan Burger and the Giro Sliders. The service was also outstanding....thanks for a great night Sarajevo!
I ate at Sarajevo for the first time last week along with some of my colleagues from work. The menu looked different from other places in the neighborhood so it was intriguing. The Balkan/Eastern Mediterranean cuisine was very good, with generous portions. I had the chicken and vegetable kebab that came with rice, pita bread, hummus, and a mild chili roulade for the chicken. The chicken was slightly overlooked, but it had very good flavor. The lunch prices make it a good value. I'll be back to try the dinner one of these days.
