Consistently great food and service at this location. Far better than the Central Park South location (which should be done away with it’s so bad), and a better setting than UES. It’s also nice that you can almost always find a table because it’s such a large space here. Only downside is that they don’t offer breakfast items at dinner!
I made a reservation, was with 3 of 4 of my party when arriving a few minutes prior to reservation time of 1:00 pm. Our 4th person had a mix up and went to another location 20 minutes away. She was on her way at 12:55 to meet Greeted by a hostesses with red glasses. Rudest women I've ever met. She informed us of the policy of not seating us until the full party was here. We understood and asked to be put on the list for 4, so when our friend arrived we could be seated. She then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant was closing at 2:30 for a private party so she "hoped" our friend arrived soon. Making it sound like we might not even have time to enjoy brunch. WOW! Really?! (later found out through another employee (possibly a manager) Doug that the restaurant was not closing. She was just being dramatic. Glasses told us we could be seated and maybe it would be a table that would accomadate an extra chair when our friend arrived. (making it seem as though she was doing us a favor) NOT! We took the chance and went to the table that was in a half empty restaurant and up against a wall with 3 chairs and absolutly no room to add a 4th chair. At this point we went to the bar to wait. As we waited and I ordered a bottle of champagne, I turned to see this hostess (red glasses) talking and motioning in my direction. Obviously telling anyone and everyone about me and my party. First of all, we were not loud, we were kind and considerate of the rules of the establishment. Red glasses acted so unprofessional it almost prompted us to leave. Had our friend not been almost there and Doug not been so kind... We would have. 2 out of 4 of our group live in NYC. The other 2 from Boston and Florida. Mimi, our server was a breath of fresh air after all this commotion. The hostess with the red glasses should not be the first person a guest meets when arriving. Red glasses is not a good representation and shuldn't be able to interract with guests.
I’ve been a regular at Sarabeth’s for a few years now. The level of overall experience dropped drastically. The pancakes tasted like crap. The service was slow. They brought us our tea in a tiny metal pot (which looks more like a creamer). Awful, just awful
A very New York kind of brunch place. The food is good and price New York reasonable. Waitstaff is very busy but overall good experience. We will go again
Nice place. Expensive tho.
Fifty character length.
Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Very friendly staff.
Terrible service, food was 1hr late and very bad presented.
Manager was the rudest person we’ve encountered.
The space was great, as was the live music; but the food was sub par and expensive.
Was visiting NYC and read a review about the best brunches. Sarabeth was on the list if NYC places. Although we didn't have the opportunity for brunch (weekends only) the breakfast was fabulous. We were seated right away and the atmosphere was perfect for catching up with my cousin. Clean and luxe.
Great place to get breakfast! They have the most amazing, huge fruit bowl with bananas, strawberries, peeled orange and grapefruit slices!
Our server Katia was pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. Great experience!
The service at the bar was awful as we waited for all of our party to arrive.
Food was only marginal and just did like the experience
Great mothers day brunch. It was crowded but I arrived early and was seated early! Food was very good especially the apple cinnamon French toast. Only disappointment was no croissant and instead of being told was sent a scone.
The restaurant is very reliable . It’s our “ go to” place for family gatherings. Mother’s Day is tough to rate a restaurant as it’s particularly busy and for some reason people’s expectations r greater. The restaurant did a very good job ( though not outstanding as on other occasions.) The group was large and there were too many special requests and the entire order didn’t come out together. When the food arrived it was hot and very well prepared. Going off the menu and creating ur own omelet or way u want something has to be challenging for any restaurant and my group with their dietary restrictions put them to the test. The noise level was fine, ambiance always nice and the wait staff very accommodating. We will be back next year and hopefully the seniors at our table will have more patience.
The staff was very hospitable. We were there for an early Saturday evening dinner. We were all happy with our choices and the happy hour prices were still in effect at the bar when we arrived.
I've been to Sarabeth's 3 times in less than a week. This is one of my fave restaurants for brunch, happy hour and dinner. The food and drinks are great. Plus the customer service is excellent. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. My go to every time!
The best place for a breakfast meeting g in the area
Quintessialy New York restaurant perfect for smart lunch or brunch with American comfort food classics beautiful presented (large portions)
We ordered and got our coffees within 10 minutes. Mine was made with the wrong milk and took another 15 minutes to be returned correctly. Our food was good, nothing special, just omelettes. We had asked for hot sauce and were later given a sweet sauce so had to ask again for tabasco which came in a tiny little bowl instead of a bottle.
Getting a waiter to come back so we could order more coffees in the empty restaurant was also impossible. I got up twice to find one. They were clustered at the bar having a chat. I felt like they were annoyed to be interrupted. I usually go to the uptown location which is a lovely experience. I will not be returning to this location.
First time here.....was all worth it! Service was great, and food was very good. Would come back again. And would definitely recommend it!
I don’t like that they won’t seat you until every single person had arrived. We had a group of 5, but only one of us was delayed. The 4 of us had to wait with a huge Sunday morning crowd. We would have been happy to order food before our final guest arrived. Instead we were standing in an uncomfortable crowd which definitely detracted from our overall experience.
Service was slow at first because we didn’t have a waiter assigned to our table.
the food was good, just not blow me away amazing.
You have to go and have a meal in order to believe that the experience is beyond excellent in every way. Having someone tell you just does not begin to convey the top notch service and the wonderful taste of the food.
Happy hour was great. Server could have been better, never came around much and then got nasty when we ordered drinks from someone else.
The food is awesome and the location is perfect!
The crab spaghetti is excellent!
Breakfast for a customer.
The food and drinks were amazing!! Definitely adding to my list of new favorite brunch spots! Highly recommended.
Wonderful! Our omelettes were great and they were so accommodating to my Celiacs. Fully recommend!
Every time we come to New York we visit Sarabeths! I am obsessed with their scones and fresh jams. The service is wonderful.
Slow for lunch hour
This was our second visit to Sarabeth's Park Avenue South. Once before for Brunch and last Sunday for dinner. We had theater tickets so we ate early. The food is excellent and service very good. Waiter was there when needed and checked on us as the meal went on. We did not feel rushed. It is not cheap in quality or cost but I and my wife felt it a very good value. Our only problem is e ate too much. Hard not to.
Very overpriced for adequate food. We made a reservation weeks in advance and with numerous tables available throughout the restaurant we were sat just outside the restrooms and the waiters' station. We have always made it a priority to have breakfast at Sarabeth's at least once during our visits to NYC. Until now we have always dined at the Central Park South location. After this last visit, I do not believe we will be dining at any Sarabeth's on any of our future NYC trips.
Amazing service! I didn’t get my servers name but he was Hispanic with a man bun on the top lol. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The manager also touched the table to make sure everything was okay. I am a food and beverage manager myself so I’m happy to see standards are being upheld still.
Comimos unos ricos huevos benedictinos! 😋
We went here on the recommendation of a friend while we were visiting NYC. The restaurant was pretty and I am sure we paid more for the experience than anything else. $22 for pancakes is a little high in my opinion.
Everything was great, especially waiter. However, bathrooms were gross and not maintained. Found it odd for such a nice restaurant.
My bf and I was celebrating our anniversary and it was our 1st time there.. Everything was great staff was on point
I have been wanting to go here for years, and Sarabeth’s did not disappoint. We had brunch after church on Sunday, including our three kids ages 8 and 5. We had a darling u-shaped booth with privacy panels so it had a lovely semi private feel. Kids had pancakes and Mac and cheese, me and hubby had almond crusted French toast and steak frites. The food was superb and the kids also loved theirs, and they are very picky. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, impressive to me because it’s such an “it” place and we have three busy kids. A quirk: if your party is all there, but some go to the restroom they literally won’t seat you till everyone is present, so if a table is available it will be given to another party till you are all there. Another quirk: the bathroom area is poorly ventilated and smells very bathroomy which you would not expect at a sleek and chic place like this; just a small thing. I highly recommend Sarabeth’s for any occasion, the food, service and ambiance were superb.
