A beautiful spot on the east side, the service was exceptional, as was the Food.
In our 9 days (so far) in the city this was the best breakfast we have had.
Can’t think of a nicer place to spend a couple of hours in the morning to get you ready for the day ahead.
It is an expensive place to have breakfast, paying as much as you would for a good lunch in most other places. But you get what you pay for.
My mom’s 97th Birthday
Great food as always, but noisy!
Food was very underwhelming. Salmon Cobb salad—salmon stinky & over cooked. Adult grilled cheese—tasted like something from Madison square garden. Disappointing as this has always been a go-to.
Had a great time, the staff was friendly and kind and brought our food out in a timely manner. The food itself was delicious and the portions were the perfect size.
It was not very cozy. But it was quiet and the food was excellent.
My wife and I ordered the hamburger which cooked as requested and have a very nice beefy flavor. The French fries were quite good as well as all the other fixings. I though my Manhattan cocktail could have contained a bit more bourbon, but overall it was good.
The other couple we were with ordered the chicken and the salmon, and both said their dishes were quite good.
The servers were attentive and professional.
Sara Beth’s is not what it used to be.
The physical space is tired and worn out.
The prices are not supported by “experience” anymore.
The hostesses were very nice.
Servers were indifferent and pushy.
The restaurant seems a bit tired; old carpeting.
Food only ok. Muffins not great. Service pleasant and ok. My mom got an omelette with mushrooms but they didn't drain them first and then put a muffin on the same plate.
Not rushing to go back.
A lovely choice for Valentine’s Day with some killer menu specials (I got the short ribs).
My go place for a homey, comfortable setting and menu. Always good service too
We are very frustrated. The service we got was horrible. We were there at 10:30 am, it was not crowded... We got water and menus then took for ever for a waiter to come by... we couldnt even find one to flag down... we finally ordered.... food was decent but service was horrible. We have empty water and coffee the whole time... and no waiters were around.. they were either in the kitchen or in a curtained off prep area... regardless.. it was horrible.... Very overrated... then, we couldn't find anyone to get our bill... Horrible customer service..
Everything was fabulous. The food and the service and the wine.
Very cordial when we sat and met our waiter.
Dinner was served in a timely manner , and was excellent ! Once the table was cleared , we received dessert menus and ordered coffee!
Our waiter NEVER returned with our coffee or the one dessert we ordered !
Finally caught the attention of another waiter
and our coffee was brought out ! Never received dessert ! Very disappointed with the ending of our dining experience !
Pleasant casual meal
Always a great time but this time was OUTSTANDING. Become our GO TO place when we come to the city
One of the best spots in the city for delicious comfort food- warm and comfortable- very attractive room. Impeccable and gracious service. A+
Hadn’t been here in years. Still very good omelettes and yummy scones. Croissants are not great at all regrettably.
We wanted a place for a leisurely dinner with plenty of conversation. Sarabeth's was a great choice. They gave us a very private booth and a waiter that kept his eye on things. We all enjoyed our dinners, although the vegetarian among us had very limited choices (they were out of a few things - possibility delivery problems because of recent snow.) The atmosphere was very warm and homey, which we liked. We'd heard brunch was crazy, but at dinner time there was a nice mixture of families with well-behaved kids and other tables with friends dining together.
Lovely place to dine. Tables nicely spaced, good for conversations. Well prepared food and good choices. Expensive, but the area is nice.
Fresh ingredients prepared deliciously- we particularly loved the sausage cooked in preserves- an outrageous side dish to accompany our omelettes and muffins
I was expecting this place to blow my mind. Didn’t really have a great time. Came all the way from Napa to get horrible service. The busboy was much nicer to me than my server. I do not recommend this place.
absolutely horrible service and bland standard food; extremely disappointed
The service was the poorest I’ve seen . Our drinks orders were delayed, three waiters started and no one ever came back. I will never go back to this location.
Haven’t eaten here in about ten years. Definite decline in quality and presentation. Nobody there! Needed reservations years ago — not now.
I think Sarabeth's (UES) is the perfect place for brunch in the city and certainly the perfect place to take your parents.
Tourist trap with very limited service. The prices are set for only those not intelligent enough to find a better location. Such a shame because I remember with Sarabeths was a great place to go.
We ordered a bottle of champagne. The waiter did not remove the wine glasses and bring proper champagne flutes. He splashed the champagne into our wine glasses.
This indicates that at least our waiter was not really trained.
Got there earlier than my reserved time, but hostess seated me right away while waiting for the rest of my party. That was nice.
Three friends from high school were permitted to occupy the table - without glares or pressure - for an extended lunchtime visit. Terrific experience.
Kudos for seating us earlier than our reservation time, but noisy and crowded; indifferent service and mediocre food. Croissant was stale!
Be prepared to wait. Often walk ins are placed ahead of those with reservations.
We were visiting NYC. Loved the neighborhood feel. The best breakfast of our visit.
While breakfast here is wonderful, dinner is fair at best. We had a guest whose food must be gluten free and soy free. She ordered the salmon, plainly cooked. She was served a fairly small piece of salmon and that was it. No vegetables. We asked to order a side of salad for her but apparently all their salads are premixed so you cannot have them hold the dressing. We had to badger the waiter to get a few pieces of lettuce. Definitely a disappointment.
We had a stressful day and decided at the last minute to treat ourselves. It. Was. Delicious. The salmon was perfect and my husband’s steak frites was delicious. Dessert was the most amazing ice cream sandwiches. Best of all, the staff was helpful and caring, which made for a relaxing dinner.
Sarabeth's is fine...but really nothing special, especially when they are out of the baked goods that you came for. They do replace your coffee frequently. Just not very interesting.
Delish as usual. We arrived at noon and it was pleasantly half full. We had a corner table which gave us privacy
My family decided to spend Thanksgiving in NYC this year so I looked for a classic restaurant where we could have our Thanksgiving dinner. I chose Sarabeth’s because I had always heard good things about it. Our dinner was wonderful! There were minor glitches here and there but in the the end we enjoyed everything and would definitely recommend Sarabeth’s to friends/family. On our way out we also picked up some cookies and the classic shortbread cookies are delicious!
We had an excellent Thanksgiving dinner with appetizers, salad, roast turkey with all te trimmings and dessert. A real Neighborhood vibe with excellent food. Just what we were looking for!
Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable. The food was delicious and generously proportioned. The wait staff was responsive to our needs and requests. Would have given another star except the hostess staff was dismissive and arrogant.
