It is overpriced. Since it's such a famous place I expected a great service and atmosphere. Food was pretty good but I am sure they are many places in New York that you can have a better brunch at that price. Also none of the host or servers say or ask anything other than what they just need. Recommend to visit only if you want to hit a well known but with low expectation on service and food.

The most challenging part of eating at Sarabeth's is choosing among the many wonderful options! And, if you do not see exactly what you want, you can ask and your request might be honored! The pumpkin waffle came with sour cream which did not necessarily make sense until you tasted it! (A companion said, "It should be whipped cream!" but withdrew her comment when she had a taste.) The waffle was light and flavorful. All of us ordered different entrees and all of us were happy with our choices.

Went to Sarabeth's after it was highly recommended by a family friend. We went in with high hopes but left disappointed about the brunch and will not be going back. For starters, the coffee came out cold, no problem. We asked for hot coffee & waited for a fresh pot. We ordered mimosas after confirming twice with waitress the OJ used is pulp-free, they came full of pulp. I ordered an omelette - it tasted amazing, however the croissant it came with was cold - my bad for assuming it would have been heated or at the minimum room temperature... The butter was also cold & hard, could not spread it on the pancakes ordered which again, were room temperature. And to top off this dining experience, nearing the end of our meals when we asked for a coffee top up it came out cold again. We were sitting in the tables across from the front windows & would get a draft of freezing cold air from outside every time the door opened, cold coffee & food were the last things we wanted on our new years eve trip to the city.

For the price I expected to have a great dining experience but was let down. I'll be sticking with The Smith midtown & Balthazars on my trips to NYC going forward.

Sadly the quality food and its service has gone downhill. The service seems as though they hired union waiters. The atmosphere felt like Central Park meets ghetto. Very sad how this use to be an enjoyable destination. Time for a new restaurant to take over the spot. Start anew and leave no one behind. This is the end for Sarabeth’s on Central park South.

Disappointed zero gluten free options other than eggs. No room to wait for your table so the experience starts off negative. Sarabeth - please have a gluten-free toast or something on menu for our next trip to NYC.

They sat us at a table at the very back of restaurant where there was a strong breeze coming in through windows and door on a night when temp was 15 degrees, though there were plenty of other tables available. No other way to describe the food itself other than “bad,” frankly, other than the basket of bread to start which was very good. The filet mignon ($40, if I recall) literally could have been served on an airplane — over cooked, no flavor, and terrible plating with bland green beans and small potatoes that weren’t fresh. They didn’t have in stock the half bottle of wine we tried to order. The ice cream sandwiches tasted and looked like they were pulled straight out of a grocery store freezer or an ice cream cart. That was bad enough but our waitress didn’t bring a steak knife with my filet and then took 5 minutes to return with it, never came back to ask if we needed anything, and didn’t say “thank you” or anything remotely friendly when we paid the bill. It was an extremely disappointing experience given that we had brunch there years ago and it was excellent.

Our second time at Sarabeth’s on CPS. This time for a late lunch. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant became full for lunch but the tables are situated where you do not feel crowded. Diverse lunch menu. Tried to get a breakfast reservation but there were no openings. Book early.

After a chilly day in the city Sarabeth’s hit the spot for much needed comfort food. The savory tomato soup and adult grilled cheese on a pretzel roll were delicious.

I booked a Christmas evening dinner recently. This is normally a great experience (and a fantastic location next to Central Park) but as soon as we arrived on this particular occasion the host commented that they were relieved we had arrived early as they wanted to close the restaurant early for Christmas evening. Fair enough but we were rushed to our table, asked for our order and received sub par food all within the space of about 15 minutes. The kitchen had pre prepared the dishes (a burger which had clearly been under a heat lamp for a while) and salmon eggs benedict which was cold. The whole dining experience soup to nuts was over in about 35 minutes and we were back out the door! Really sad as this is one of my favorite spots in New York. I put it down to holiday rush fatigue and just wanting to get people out the door. This was also my first dinner experience so perhaps a better spot to stick to for brunch (which has always been fantastic)!

We have tried to eat brunch at several of Sarabeth's locations as a walk in. The wait of over an hour always discouraged us. As we waded through the crowds at the front door I was concerned that the reservation that we made would be of little help. Fortunately, my concerns were unfounded and we were promptly seated, our order taken and delicious food served. Unbelievable that one could have an intimate brunch experience while so much was going on around us. Definitely an experience to be had while in the city.

We made a reservation for Christmas brunch but they made us wait for 20 mins to be seated because they told me that I was 3 mins late. I understand that the restaurant is busy but I hope they didn't put blame on me for being late.
The food was just okay. The toast was quite good at least but salmon egg scramble was so greasy and each are about ~$25. Not worth it at all because there are so many good restaurants in NYC that have better food, high quality of service with reasonable price. Our waiter did not even notice that I didn't have utensil until he came to check on our table after foods were served. I asked for more coffee and he forgot to refill.

We were extremely disappointed in this restaurant. We dined here Christmas morning. I chose this restaurant after reading some of the reviews. I thought, based on the reviews, the food would be at least adequate. It was not. In fact, it goes down as the worst breakfast that we ever had in a restaurant.

The eggs were dry, the coffee was like mud, and the muffins were tasteless. We were a party of four and we all have different muffins and we all stated how they had no taste what so ever. I look forward to my cup of coffee in the morning and I had to request that they take it away and provide me with a cup of tea. I am a coffee drinker and never drink tea in the morning, but it was so bad.

I will never dine at this restaurant again and for the price, the food should be a lot better.

We made a reservation for Christmas Eve under the impression thanks to their website that there would be a prix fixe menu available for the Christmas dinner. We were not happy with the fact that we had to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated despite our reservation, or the fact that once seated we were informed that their prix fixe menu (which the waiter himself boasted was fantastic) was not available on Christmas Eve despite what we had read. The service was highly delayed even for a holiday, we waited almost 2 hours for our main course to come and weren't offered any bread for the table because we were told they were out. The food was quite good at least but we were a bit dismayed even on Christmas Eve by the service.
