Sarabeth's Central Park South
“Not just for Brunch.” "Not for many, many years now, and certainly not on Central Park South,” comments Frank Bruni of the New York Times about our wonderful dinner menu. Join us for an evening meal and reverse your thinking - Sarabeth's for Dinner.
Dock's Oyster Bar and Jane are the sister restaurants to Sarabeth's.

Food and service is mediocre. Only thing going for them is location.
We were last in NYC in 2014 and on the recommendation of a local came to Sara Beth’s for their lemon ricotta pancakes and Bloody Mary. We are here again in 2019 with our little girls and wanted to come back. They said they were the most delicious pancakes they’ve ever eaten. Valerie was a wonderful waitress
We had a delightful meal that ended with a surprise note of a black out just as dessert menus were coming our way. Once the extent of the problem was identified staff made it known dessert could not be served. Everyone went out of their way to apologize . As we left, Johnny announced he was sorry he couldn’t deliver the birthday cake we’d ordered for our granddaughter. It made her evening, and ours.
I ordered the cavatelli with mushrooms!
I asked the waiter how it was prepared, he first told me that it was made with red wine!
I said that mushroom cannot be prepared with red wine, then he proceded to tell me, that actually it was prepared with white wine.
Sadly, I ordered the dish.
What I received was pasta drowned in tomato sauce or maybe in your signature tomato soup with maybe 2 tiny pieces of mushroom!
It was unedible!!! And not what I had ordered!
It was not the 1st time I was at your restaurant
The chef should not take the customers on a ride, thinking he can away with it!
Absolutely great food and service. Sunday brunch was very busy and pricey but will definitely go back again. Dinner the day before was also very good and had a great waiter.
Overall the food was just OK. I personally thought that they could try harder and they came over a little lazy with the food menu and presentation.
Service was ok, although drinks placed on edge of table, and my wife being asked if she’d just gone to the toilet as she was away from the table for 5 mins I thought was a little strange....
Food was disappointing. The place needs a little uplift.
We had a nice experience at the restaurant.Loved the Coconut waffle!
My daughter and I had a lovely meal. I would have preferred to not be seated in the middle of a row of small tables along a wall that was half booth. The people next to us were on there phones and a bit loud. Otherwise the service and good were exactly what I expected and we would definitely recommend it to friends.
I remember when Sarabeth's was merely one Upper Westside restaurant. The CPS iteration is just as good as my memory with scrumptious muffins and a great selection of healthy and/or indulgent foods. Also, my breakfast lasted almost two hours and no staff person made us feel unwelcome at any time.
This was perfect for a breakfast with friends. Vast selection and prompt service.
Some parts of the restaurant can get a little noisy due to the absence of fabric.
When we arrived the maitre d looked annoyed that he needed to look for our reservation. He then looked around the restaurant and didn't know where to put us as if we were inconveniencing him.
Once we were eating our dinner the busboy made a big show of changing the table cloths and setting the tables all around us, 4 tables to be exact. I thought we were going to get hit with a table cloth. The clashing of dishes, silverware and glasses as he was setting the table was disconcerting while we were trying to have a conversation over dinner. When the empty tables were finally set, someone else came by to slightly re-position the newly set tables. I wanted to ask, "Are they acceptable now? You may need to move them again a 1/2 inch."
When the dinner was over my son requested to take his food home. We left the restaurant and he realized he forgot his food. When he went back into the restaurant no one knew what he was talking about and did not seem concerned that they misunderstood that he wanted to take home his meal. They were dismissive to his request.
As far as the dinner, 34.00 for 5 ravioli is absurd and they tasted as if they were cooked from frozen. The edges where all hard. 100.00 dollars for one glass of house wine, one appetizer, 2 plates of food. No coffee, no dessert, no extra drinks. I would never recommend this experience to anyone.
We were staying at the Park Lane and headed out to see Wicked. Great service. Lobster Cobb was excellent!
We always find the food and service to be excellent.
Our kids enjoyed the menu as much as we did. Great grilled octopus!
The food was very good, but the waiter's attitude was rather unsatisfactory. While he was relatively friendlier to the customer next to my table mentioning "have a nice day", he didn't mention anything like that to me. What's more, none of the waitresses or waiters said "thank you" or "goodbye". I just left the restaurant being ignored.
Food was average, service was not good ....and with the amount the restaurant was charging per plate, was amazed that they were busy handing over the cheque as fast as possible so that the next guests could get the table ! Very disappointing. Will never come back ....
Sitting across Central Park South, one knows that you will be paying for that privilege. Nothing that special on the menu. My roasted Chicken salad was flavorful and well seasoned but more chopped up
like an asian salad. I was assuming more marketplace with the market vegetables. Fun to people watch as you sit outside and enjoy your meal. I remember Sarabeth's from yesteryear's and worried she might
be getting tired.
Great food and great service however the menu prices are way over inflated for what you get.
Nice, quiet restaurant on a Monday night next to Central Park.
Food was exceptional. Service was exceptional. Definitely will be returning!
Really great experience. My friend and I shared the Maine Lobster Roll and Crab Cake Benedict and a pitcher of sangria. Had a great time, great service, and I highly recommend!
The attitude of several clerks was not good. But food was good.
If they gave us a table that we can see the park, this experience would be better.
Great spot for a quick but quality meal - not a spot to linger - got my drink wrong when ordered on the rox got the martini glass - requested no bread when asked if we wanted but brought it anyway - waiter could have offered veggies when ordered steak - had to ask after steak arrived for a side order of veggies (which would be on me)
Nice location, ambience and service. Food is good. And great for brunching.
I always enjoy brunch at this location! The service was excellent and they were quick with a fresh coffee warm up! THANK YOU ALL!
An Orange juice for 11. (!!!) $??? Really?
To be ashamed
Sarabeth’s always exceeds expectations. I love sharing the experience with those that have never experienced the delicious food and excellent service. The menu can satisfy young, old and in between. Between us, we had a salad, the club sandwich, tomato soup and grilled cheese.
Nice evening to sit outside. Wonderful waiter.
2nd time to experience brunch, and it did not disappoint. I consider a must before enjoying Central Park.
I always enjoy eating at the various Sarabeth's locations. This was my first time at Central Park South. While the food was, as always, beautifully prepared and tasted as good as it looked, the restaurant loses a star for several reasons. First, as always, with dozens of empty tables, the maitre d' tried to seat us at the worst table in the place. We declined and chose another. Second - huge watermarks on the ceiling and greasy dust on the wall decor/glass which made the dining room look dingy and unkempt, taking away from the sparkling white linens and impeccable table service. Third (and this was a biggie for me) a lot of dead spiders and water slider bodies in the very dirty bathroom. The toilet and sink were spotless. The floor hadn't been swept since I don't know when and the walls had not been cleaned. I remind the restaurant that we don't just go to your place for the food!! The surroundings are just as important to enjoyment. Lastly, however, I must commend the waiter who carries with him one of the gel stick spot removers - which I needed when a drop of catsup hit my white linen jacket. He noticed, and with immediate attention, the spot disappeared. Kudos!
I made a reservation but it didnt pack at all.. taste good but the service is not good
Sarabeth's was for a long time, my favorite brunch spot in the city. Unfortunately, after our last two experiences, we will not be returning to any of their locations. My husband was in the city on business last month and said that his meal was cold and the Bloody Mary was the worst he'd ever had (and it had been our favorite for years!). My experience this past Monday left much to be desired as well. I have always loved the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes - they were a must-have when we were in town. This time, they were dry, there was no ricotta, and they were very bland. My daughter got the oatmeal, which she said was fine, but with a price point of $13+ it was much too expensive for what you actually got. Once I saw that the Orange Juice was $12 and my gas station coffee was $5, I'd had it. The breakfast for myself and my 9 year old was over $58, and it didn't even taste good. We come into the city a few times a year. Going forward, we will look for much better places to eat and spend our money. The best part of the meal was my daughter telling me that my Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (that I modeled after their the first couple of times I'd had them), were much better!
Very relaxing atmosphere , had good time
Was looking for a new restaurant for my regular trips to NYC. This showed up on a list near Central Park. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Service was excellent. Great place to eat that is reasonably priced for NYC.
We come to Sarabeth's everytime we are in New York. You cannot go wrong. Great food and great service. I love being able to look out to Central Park.
