Sapphire Laguna reach-in wine vaults house an eclectic collection of wines – more than 900 bottles, emphasizing varietals from around the world. All vintages are stored in temperature-controlled units behind a rustic wall made from actual wine staves. In addition, approximately 25 wines by the glass are available. Sapphire never fails to deliver. Bruce was our waiter, if you are lucky enough to get him, you did well. He is affable, knowledgeable without being intrusive. It was my first date with this beautiful woman, food sublime as was the service. We are planning our second date you'll be happy to know. Make reservations several days ahead.
We had a wonderful experience at Sapphire Laguna. Carter the host was most friendly and told us where we could park; our waiter, Brad, was attentive and helpful with our food choices; and the FOOD!!!! Fabulous! With our wine, I had the Argentinian Swordfish with roasted potatoes and my husband had the grilled ribeye with truffle fries. We also had the Greek octopus salad as an appetizer to die for! We were celebrating our anniversary, and although we were too full to order dessert, Brad surprised us with a celebration sorbet on the house! The whole experience was just perfect and we would go there again! Thank you, Brad, for all you did!
Love the creative dishes and fresh food and the specialty cocktails! So nice to have not only heaters but blankets were offered too! They are always happy to oblige any special requests. The butternut squash soup with crispy pancetta and fried sage was amazing!
Food was good but really quite expensive. My wife is from Hong Kong so we both laughed when we saw and tasted the "Hong Kong calamari and shrimp" appetizer as it bore absolutely no relationship nor relevance to (the real) Hong Kong!?! And then surprisingly the "Hawaiian-style Barramundi" was prepared in exactly the same style as - you guessed it - Hong Kong steamed fish?!? Service personnel were friendly and efficient and the ambiance (outside, at night) was very nice.
It was s great experience! We were recommended by our daughter that going here was a must! We were in Laguna Beach for our anniversary and we couldn’t have selected a better place! Ambiance is wonderful, food exquisite and service extremely good!!

It was a relaxing evening. We arrived in time to see the sunset over the water. Dinner was good. The dinner that stood out for us was the monk fish curry with fresh mint chutney. It was quite possibly the best chutney any of us had tasted before (we all had to try it!). The service was also very good. I recommend this restaurant. I am curious about the brunch and will be back to try it!
I used to love SG, but I don's know if there was a chef change or what, but the food was not near as good as it was before. Maybe off night??? The steak/lobster ravioli used to be superb, and I typically always order it, but it fell far short of previous experiences there and I've eaten there several times. I'd still probably give it another shot, but was certainly disappointing this time especially after I had raved about the dish and the 4 other people I was with, 2 of which ordered the dish also, were not impressed....
Went here on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the area. They were right on the money with the reservation which was nice. They were not busy from what I could see at 8:30 at night, but I finally didn't leave until over an hour later. They were slightly more expensive than the previous night's recommendations (Nick's), and food serving size was smaller. I would say there was no more than 5-6oz of the salmon I ordered. It was cooked to perfection, but really lacked any flavor. Tea salad was excellent though.
We've eaten there before. In all fairness, this was the first bad meal. Presentation was so-so. Salmon was tasteless. Waiter acted like he was doing us a favor by serving us. Hopefully, this was an aberration. Trouble is it will be a long time until I try it again.
Just ok. Made reservations
For a special birthday. We had a party of 5 and they sat us at a table of eight (extra chairs very crowded in that the should of taken out). Food was good but overlooked and overly priced. We mentioned it was a Birthday celebration 3 times and it was never acknowledged. Waiter was polite but did the very minimum service. Used to be one of our favorites but don't think we are going back.
