Sapori Italian Restaurant - White Plains Ratings and Reviews
We went to Sapori on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday and very festive indeed. We were four and each member of the party raved about the food. The wait staff was very attentive and prompt. All in all, a very elegant and delightful dinner. I enthusiastically recommend Sapori.
Arrived on Christmas Day for our reservation and I didn't realize or didn't do enough digging when making the reservation online that the restaurant was multi-leveled with spiral stairs that leads to an eating area downstairs. My Dad who was with us is 85 and has trouble with stairs. When we told the host he said no problem and told us a table would open up in a few minutes in the dining room which is right there when you enter. So, we went to the bar and hung out for a bit and had a drink. Our table was ready about 15min after we went to the bar and the host came to retrieve us and took our drinks and escorted us to our table. From the time we entered to the time we left everyone was highly professional and the food was outstanding!! I will tell you that they were packed for Christmas and every single person who was working that day worked like a fine-tuned clock all while remaining professional and with a smile on their face. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. Thank you Sapori for making our Christmas day meal as a family a truly memorable experience. All the best to all of you!
The wait staff ( our waiter’s Aldo & Besford) was knowledgeable and waited on our every need, the food was was just what we expected, from my Atlantic char with broccoli rab to my wife’s squid ink pasta with scallops with shrimp.
The restaurant is lovely. The food was well made and wonderfully seasoned. The bad point of the night was when the waiter spilled a glass of wine down a friend’s back. They did offer to clean her coat but didn’t comp her meal. She ate with a wet back and I feel they could have at least given her a free meal. We did make the most of the night and would go back again, despite that.
Great Italian restaurant on Central Avenue.
First time there and had to wait about 15 minutes on a Saturday night, not too unusual.
We chilled by the bar and when the host came over he said he had a table open up downstairs in the wine cellar (never knew there was one), or we could wait a few more minutes.
We took a walk downstairs and decided it was too cool/quaint to pass up and had dinner there.
We were glad we did - nice atmosphere, a bit crowded but cozy. The service and food was excellent.
My date enjoyed a special of linguine and bay scallops and I had the rigatoni with meat sauce - both excellent!
The wait staff was attentive but not too intrusive.
We will definitely come back.
Food is always fantastic and the staff could not be any friendlier. They treat everyone like family whether you are a regular or walked in for the first time. Food is not heavy and oily like many Italian restaurants have a tendency to be. The menu gives you so many options that you won't ever fall into a rut of ordering the same thing over and over again. I have no problems driving 30 minutes out of the way from where I live to come to this gem of a restaurant.
The food is exceptional and the service and ambiance provide for a special evening. For 3 years in a row I have taken my elderly Aunt to Sapori for her birthday (she just turned 92) and the dining experience is perfect. The staff is so kind and accommodating and the food is top rate. This is a neighborhood gem and I recommend it highly.
One of my favorite restaurants and this being Restaurant Week I took the opportunity to introduce a friend. I always worry about recommending a restaurant to a friend, because this might be the one time the chef is home sick and the experience is less than was promised - absolutely not here. Everything was really wonderful. I know my friend will be back as well.
We had lunch today, started with their always delicious mussels as an app, then had the seafood pasta - loaded with seafood and al dente pasta, wife had the brozino. All delicious. And BAU fabulous service, with great wine list loaded up with Croatian choices -- we had the red babi (babcic) reserve from the family vineyard -- very nice.
Sux if us had dinner and one meal was better than the other. The Cesar salads were crisp with lots of anchovies, the eggplant rollatini delicious. The clams organata were delicious but the clams themselves on the small side. The entrees were equally amazing. The fish was so fresh and desserts were great. Try the ITALIAN cheesecake
