Sapore Italiano Ratings and Reviews
Food wonderful but our table was to close to the front door and my feet were freezing. People next to me said we were the third couple at this table and the only ones who didn't ask for another table. Disappointed they would put anyone at that table won't go back
The restaurant itself was cozy and very clean. Service was excellent, food was phenomenal tasty and a lot.We took desserts with us which were great. The only little disappointment was my wife and myself walked past at least 10 to 12 staff including the owner ( my guess) not ONE thanked us for coming . Alittle taken back considering how attentive the whole staff was during the dinner itself. That being said it won’t stop me and my wife from going back , it was that good . Go you will not be disappointed!!!
Amazing authentic Italian dinner. We had a great appetizer, crab stuffed mushrooms. For dinner we had risotto with seafood and a veal special. My fiancés veal had spinach and mozzarella and the lemon sauce over it was fantastic. I love risotto and am usually a big critic, but it was cooked perfectly. The chef even threw in scallops for me at no extra charge! The cappuccinos and dessert were great, tiramisu and creme brûlée were homemade and delicious. Overall a great place for dinner.
We have dined many times at Sapore and really enjoy it. However we dined on Sunday which happened to be restaurant week in Cape May. We were not aware that we could only pick from the price fixed menu and we were disappointed. We look forward to dining again with their full menu.
We decided to have dinner here because it was one of the restaurants participating in Cape May's restaurant weekend. We had never been to Sapore Italiano before despite driving by it for a long time. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the service just right and we didn't feel rushed - which is really important to my husband and I. We're so glad we finally decided to try this restaurant. We will be back.
I have been here many times before and always loved my selections. This visit the entree had no taste and I felt it was covered in cheese which had no place being that heavily placed on my entree. My date felt also that the food was tasteless, and had been there prior. I don't know if they changed chefs or just an off night, but I was really looking forward to an excellent meal and left disappointed
Our first dinner at this restaurant was very memorable for the quality and quantity of food for their restaurant week menu. Service was very good (Max) and outdoor porch dining was lovely on a warm November evening. The plate of pastas was my favorite course.
Another great Restaurant Weekend meal from the tastiest Italian restaurant in Cape May/West Cape May! Sure, tables were tight, so don’t go looking for romance or intimacy during this popular weekend at this popular restaurant. Clear winners from the appetizer selections were bacon-wrapped scallops with pesto dressing and the arugula salad with Parmesan wedges. My friends ordered chicken and veal dishes and raved at how tender the meat was. I had salmon with bruschetta on the side: moist, not over cooked, not overly salted, and perfect with sautéed spinach. Dessert favorites were Torta alla Nonna and chocolate cake. (Don’t forget the pasta intermezzo with three different pastas: the gnocchis were pillow-tender.) Bliss!
Food was outstanding. Our waiter was very poor. Inattentive and courses came out on top of each other. 4 course meal in less than 30 minutes. After food was brought out never bothered to ask if everything was satisfactory. Have been in Sales Mgmt and a business owner the last 30 years doing a great deal of entertaining in Jersey and New York. Could never bring a client to a restaurant without good service.
It was restaurant week. This may sound like a valid excuse. Don’t agree. If the owners are participating in this program I would think they’re doing so to allow new potential customers to get a taste (no pun intended) of they’re establishment. Again, the food was outstanding.
We wanted to try this restaurant after hearing many good things about it, and tried it for Cape May restaurant weekend. The mussels appetizer and scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious. The homemade gnocchi was our favorite if the trio of pasta . We enjoyed our entrees of veal saltibocca and chicken Oscar. They both did have too much sauce on them though. Dessert of Creme brûlée was very good. Portion sizes were great. Service was excellent. Tables were very close together and that was probably the biggest downer of the meal. We could hear the conversations of all the tables around us. We would definitely go back again.
This is the first time I have eaten at this restaurant is Cape May restaurant week. We entered the front door and as we kept walking and walking we were told to watch your step watch your step watch your step there were way too many step downs and it was very difficult to see between the difference of the staff and the floor. We were taking all the way in the back with no view of anything. As we started eating our Antipasto there was a couple that came in to the room, the man missed the bottom step and ran right into me I had my fork with my food in my mouth. The hostess who was seating them didn’t seem to bother to ask me if I was OK. I got up walked to the hostess desk and Asked for another table. She was going to put us in one room and I said no I wanted to sit at the table far away from those two steps. No one helped us move our plates wineglasses forks bread butter nothing. It was quite disappointing. When our entrées arrived I had ordered the Veal Saltiambucco , it tasted extremely salty. The crème brûlée was delicious. I will probably not be coming back to this restaurant After the experience I had tonight.
We enjoyed a delicious, abundant meal on the Thursday night of Restaurant Weekend. The food was beautifully presented for each of the four courses. The service was very good. We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were asked if we preferred inside or porch seating. It was a beautiful night so we chose the porch. The waitress was friendly, informative and gave good recommendations. The rest of the wait staff was very attentive. Portions of each course were large and after the first and second courses, even though the main course was delicious, we had to ask for boxes. One of our party has experiences in many restaurants in the Philly area and in southern California. She was very impressed with this experience. On the basis of this visit, which was our first, we would definitely return.
