When traveling, one way to tell if a restaurant is good is by how many locals are eating there. From what I could tell, we were the only non-locals at Sapore the night went! The staff and the customers seemed to know each other very well, which I feels says a lot.
The food was delicious! Came out piping hot, obviously freshly made. Great selection - beyond the typical Italian restaurant choices, which I greatly appreciated.
Pasta sauces are so delicious never disappointed
Great food and great friendly service🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Good Dirty Martinis! And Eggplant Lasagna. The upstairs is pretty nice to sit and people watch.
This is a wonderful place in Burlingame
Great, delicious meal. Ordered pasta Rustica, very flavorful and filling.
Great food and great service
went at an odd time. 2pm. Place was empty, but food was great!
I travel here for work, but it’s one of my favorite places to eat. The hardest thing when traveling is not being able to take some home
Excellent spinach stuffed ravioli. Disappointed in the “folded pasta sheet” stuffed with”vegetables.” Only vegetable was mushrooms and sauce was very bland.
Love this place a little hard to get reservations. They have a great bartender and the
food is always wonderful
Excellent service. Friendly staff
Hard to beat for excellent home made pasta specials, attentive but not intrusive service and a very congenial atmosphere!
Had a reservation on Valentine’s Day that I had made many hours prior to arriving for our dinner. Couldn’t even get past the giant line of people that were cramped in the doorway to talk to a host. When I finally forced myself ahead he said it was going to be a 30 minute wait. We left.
Had to wait a bit but it was Valentine's Day. Great Waiter and great food.
Location is perfect on Burlingame Ave.
Check it out for good Italian.
One of our go to restaurants.. Ambiance, Food Service all excellent.
Authentic home-made Italian cuisine wonderfully prepared with excellent, not intrusive service!
Veal was very good. Would prefer with served with ravioli/pasta vs. potato
So disappointed. Lunch crowd was small, yet the service was terrible. Waiter acted like he was doing a favor waiting on us. Lunch prices a bit high as well.
Noisy and a lot of traffic through the dining area
Have to admit we didn’t have a great first experience. I asked for a quiet table and we were seated dead center in a noisy restaurant. Started off with a mixed up drink order (beer and Cabernet, not Chardonnay). Then the wrong salads were delivered. Lastly we got the wrong bill! No apologies just craziness. The menu was changed for New Years Eve but not forecast online. Very expensive for ok food and little atmosphere and mediocre waitstaff.
Main course came before the appetizers. Therefore we cancelled the order for the appetizers. It took to long for the food to get to our table, same for several tables. Service just took too long.
Been here many times, always good food. Service level was off tonight, perhaps due to the holidays
Very good Italian food - and our waiter Oscar was pleasant and efficient and also made a great recommendation on the pasta dish
Great food and wine 🍷. Noisy, though. Lovely staff.
Wonderfully prepared home made Italian entrees, attentive service and reasonable prices make Sapore Italiano something of an undiscovered treasure! In the world of "flashier Burlingame Avenue restaurants" Sapore can get a little lost but don't mistake "flash and a scene" for good food at reasonable prices!
Delicious locally owned authentic Italian food. Delicious raviolis, salads, and meat dishes.
Several times when I had dinner at this restaurant the waiter would bring the main course before the appetizers/soup are finished
Food was great as always. Waitress was exceptional even though it looked to us that staff was lacking on a Friday night
Very good meatballs and SACCHETTO VEGETARIANO. Enjoyed it.
Authentic home made Italian specialties combined w an attentive but not intrusive staff.
We asked for the salad dressing to be put on the side, but the salad came dressed. The pasta was drenched in too much sauce and the pizza dough was very tough. Only the gnocchi was good. The service was attentive at the beginning, but servers were not available at the end of our meal. The noise level was deafening.
Great meal! We had the gnocchi, spinach ravioli and the cacio de pepe gnocchetti. All three were exceptional!
The food was great, the service was excellent, the only downside is that it was very noisy. It's a long room with a high-ceiling so it was hard to hear my dinner companion sometimes. I will absolutely go back with friends, but not for a date night.
Saporeis one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in the Valley. Authentic Italian food with great service. I love it !!!
Order the Spaghetti aglio e olio. It is not on the menu, but it is just the best!!!
Reliably good Italian food and service. Nice people!
The noise level is uncomfortable in a full restaurant. It is time for some acoustical rescue for this restaurant before all the new competitors with nicer environments squeeze this aging place out.
I hate to see lack of a remodel to fix this longstanding spot make it go away.
My wife and I have been patrons of Sapore for a long time. The restaurant consistently has great Italian food at reasonable prices. For this outing, I had the veal marsala, superbly done, and my wife had the fish of the day, tasty and tender Grouper. My favorite desert is the semi-freddo.
This is one my my long time favorite places to get Italian food from the hands of authentic Italians! I have never been disappointed!
