Santorini Greek Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
I really enjoy going to santornis. In fact my friends and I have done a yearly tradition to go there at least once every summer. The food is always amazing. Not to mention the great withers, we've had the same waiter twice now and he remembers us from last time!
The seating is a little close, but it's not terribly uncomfortable. The noise level is moderate. It's definitely a place for groups of people to gather, enjoy a nice bottle of wine, and just talk!
Overall the food is a bit pricy, but it's definitely worth it once you see the portion size! It's a must to start off with saganki, because the show the put on is awesome!
I love to try new things when I go to the same restaurant. the chicken gyro is amazing, the Slovakia is absolutely perfect, and the chicken oregano was fabulous!
However, this time I had the lamb chops and though the few bites I had were good; I felt most of it was inedible. There was more bone than meat. I got maybe 5 good bites from the three small pieces. Definitely not worth the $24 dollars. I felt if I paid more for vegetables (which I didn't mind eating at all).
But the night was saved because we always order the chocolate ganache cake (probably the best dessert they have) and our funny waiter!
Fabulous lunch with friends. I LOVE the tilapia platter. Wonderful grilled veggies with a mild and lovely fish. So much food I always have to take some home. Service is professional and attentive. We felt very welcomed. We will be back! Nice value at lunch, too!
We met another couple to have dinner. I made reservations but it wasn't very busy so I didn't necessarily need them. The food was very good. The table was almost too small for the amount of food we had. The pitas that come with the appetizer are the best I've ever had. The beer was nice and cold. We all had a gyro and it was yummy, it came with rice, potatoes and green beans and a Greek salad to start it off. The servings are very big here. I brought half my gyro home and had it for lunch the next day, it was still very good. My favorite Greek restaurant!
Santorini is a regular requirement when craving Greek! On this very busy Saturday eve ( mothers Day) our group found the restaurant full. But true to form, they were adequately staffed and timely with the food delivery. Although I expected that as busy as they were the food prep may suffer. Not to be...every dish ordered was properly prepared and perfect temperature. Hats off to a job well done!
Last visit was a Friday night around 7:30 pm and they were slammed as expected. We were seated at a very small table in their main dinning room, against a window. Our server made eye contact several times but didn't so much as say hello or bring us any drinks. We waited roughly 20 minutes of being ignored before leaving. Greek Isle's food is much better and service much nicer. We won't be back.
I've always loved Santorini's, even back when they were in their small space on Shelby St. where they started. I don't know why we don't go here more often. The food is always delicious (I had the saganaki, spanokopita, and galaktoboriko), the service is great, and it's just a wonderful restaurant. Our server, Bill, even recognized the friends we were with who used to live in Indy and were just visiting for the evening. Kid-friendly, they do have a kid's menu, so there's no reason to say you can't go out for good food with your whole family! The flaming cheese (saganaki) kept my kids entertained! Jeannette is almost always in the front of the house welcoming people and she is so friendly and gracious. There are great restaurants opening up around Indy, but sometimes you just gotta go home to places like Santorini's!
Santorini has good food in abundant quantity for a decent price. I had the chicken gyro platter which means a small salad, Greek potatoes, and green beans come with the entree. The service was pleasant and attentive. The gyro was really good. The salad had a lot of flavor, but was a little heavy handed on te dressing. The potatoes were cooked properly, but the balance of garlic and citrus was definitely heavier on the garlic side. The beans had a good flavor, but were a bit overcooked. So, overall, it was a pleasant dining experience for lunch, but not anything exceptional.
The server was fabulous. Explained the menu items and was appropriately attentive. The food was fantastic! The price was on the high end of moderate, but worth every penny! The belly dancer was fun and several groups were celebrating events. A fun atmosphere!
We were seated right away, despite the pretty big lunch crowd. Our server did a good job, but He was definitely stretched thin between all the tables he was taking care of. Food was excellent! I had a sampler plate because I couldn't decide. Everything on the plate was good, and I had enough to take home and have another meal. Prices were very reasonable too, for a party of 4 for lunch the bill was a little over $50
I ordered. Tanguary and tonic and it was wrong -either club soda or no syrup in the tonic. I asked the tonic be checked. The owner claimed the tonic was good and the bad drink was returned. I tried it again and refused it asking for a glass of wine. The owner would not credit our check for the drink! I believe our waiter had to pick up the drink cost!
Unbelievably poor customer service by the owner!
We we're celebrating several birthdays and a party of 12. Not to mention Valentine's Day. My husband wanted to do a champagne toast and they did not have enough bottles in house so the owner ran out and got us more. It is almost unheard of in this day and age and was MOST appreciated! OPA!
We found Santorini's by accident when we visited Indianapolis over Valentine's weekend and had not thought about how busy restaurants would be. So we looked at Open Table to see where there might be reservations still available and found Santorini's. This place at first glance might cause some to keep driving and not stop. It's at the edge of a neighborhood that appears to be declining. We were impressed with the service we received. I had eaten some Greek food before but my husband had not. The server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was quick to recommend some of his favorites as well as a great wine. The food was delicious and the atmosphere fun. I would definitely return again to enjoy this hidden gem!!
