We love Santorini! We have been many times and always enjoy the experience. The friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere make it a fun place to come for meeting up with friends, or celebrating an event.
We waited an hour after our reservation to be seated, waiter forgot our drinks and was very short. They were busy and couldn’t handle a full house.
Arrived a little late for our reservation but had no problem being seated. The service was good and the food was delicious. I had the lamb and my wife had the beef kebob and we were both very satisfied! I would definitely recommend dining here.
What we ordered. Vegetarian Grape Leaves. No sauce. Very dry. Tasted like just a quick reheat. Leaves a bit undercooked. Not much flavor.
Meat Grape Leaves. Leaves a bit undercooked. No sauce. Also dry.
Spinach Pie. Good but not sensational.
Vegetarian Moussaka. Good. Not the best ever though. Not very hot. Inside a bit cool.
Waiter was very nice.
Nice inside a bit loud but ok.
First time at this restaurant. Ate across the street at Pegasus last month, it was much better.
Will try again in fairness.
If you love Greek food, you must visit this restaurant!
Great to have a new Greek restaurant in Greektown! Great menu, lots of choices, even for vegetarians. My husband and I both had moussaka (me vegetarian, him traditional), and both were delicious! We would definitely go back!
Disappointing experience. We had a reservation and when we arrived there was a line about 6 groups deep. It took a while to get the attention of the host to tell her we had a reservation. She said to have a seat in the bar and they’d come get us. The wait at the bar where there were only 8 other people was over 12 minutes. At this point we should’ve been seated for our dinner. 25 minutes later I checked with the host who had forgotten us even though our name was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER on her computer screen. She apologized and found us a table...which was given to someone else. So then we got our table and went to pay our bar tab they did comp out wine. Fish and chips were promo. Spinach pie was not. Mushy and no crisp to the filo; I mean it was mushy and cold. I was not impressed and would not go back or recommend it it a friend.
Special customer dinner
It was my first time dining here, and I have not one single complaint. The menu selection is terrific, our server was knowledgeable, everything came out great. Definitely will be back.
We have a party of 5 for a business dinner, service was excellent, the wait staff was informed, timely and helpful. Our food was excellent!
This place is ALWAYS amazing whenever we go. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service is super friendly and fun. We love coming here and we will be back again.
Great food and service would definitely return!
We had a pleasant meal. Our appetizer was only okay, but the lamb we had for our main was very tasty.
Amazing service from our waiter, food was amazing, perfectly cooked. Party of 5order of steak bites, calamari, OPA, greek pizza and the TRIO...everything was spot on. Cannot wait to go back.
We had to be in Detroit overnight to visit the passport agency there for an emergency renewal, and it happened to be our 26th wedding anniversary. Dinner here was a delightful perk of a trip we wished we didn't have to make. Delicious saganaki, abundant olives, Greek salad with gyro meat, avgolemono, and pastitsio, with a very personable and attentive server. We had a comfortable booth, sitting next to each other.
Even with an OT reservation at 8:30, we had to wait until 8:45 to be seated, then another 15 minute wait for a waiter to show up. We didn’t get our entrees until an hour later, making our group late to work. The food we had was good, but not special. I won’t be back. There are many other delicious and more reliable restaurants downtown now.
Fantastic lamb chops - perfectly seasoned and cooked. Waiter recommended a great Greek red wine. Very nice setting in the heart of Greektown.
Food was so good - one of the best in Greektown! The service was very accommodating, from us having to change our reservation to being flexible with seating. Highly recommend Santorini for any occasion.
Food and service were outstanding. First time there. We will definitely be back.
We got off to a great start and the waiter was very friendly. As the meal went on, he would be gone for long periods of time. He never asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. The food was fantastic though.
Nice setting - good service - but tasteless food.
My husband had the lamb shank and I had the lamb Kabob - both were under flavored and disappointing.
Service was very good and the setting is very attractive.
Unfortunately the food is not at all worth going to Santorini.
Lamb shank was delish. Husband’s chicken stirfry was great. Bottle of wine reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend this restaurant
Service was SLOW. Food was cold and mediocre at best. Bathrooms were filthy and not kept up.
Our server Pete was great!!
Beautiful restaurant. The food was very delicious. Our waiter Pete was phenomenal. The hospitality was out of this world.. kudos to all the staff 💖
A very inviting space that strikes the perfect balance between thoughtful, refined design touches and a welcoming, relaxing ambiance. Wait staff was attentive, professional and efficient. Food was “very good.” Exactly what you expect, with no disappointments, even as few things to knock your socks off. Great, satisfying Greek/American cuisine that leaves you warm and smiling.
Last minute reservation prior to a concert at LCA. Didn’t disappoint. Roasted Lamb special was falling off the bone and tasted amazing. Good service from Aldo too, espciialy during a busy time and with a tight time schedule.
I had my graduation dinner here. The food was very good! Our server was attentive and pleasant. The setting is versatile. It can be perfect for a special occasion or simply a casual night out with friends. I would highly recommend Santorini.
Had dinner before going to jazz concert at Soundboard in Motorcity Casino - excellent choice!!! Lamb chops were very, very good and waiter was exceptional. Highly recommend.
The food was delicious, best Greek moussaka I ever had! Cute place to be with friends and family.
We visited this restaurant on Thanksgiving. The waiters were cheerful and attentive, which helped make our experience pleasant.
Excellent service from the staff, food was very good.
Well, if quantity over quality is your desire, this is your place.
Always a fun time and very good greek food.
You just have to get the Sagnaki Opa where they flame the cheese at your table...... OPA!!!!
Their Beef Kabobs are awesome as are the Lamb Chops. And they flambe' the Creme Brule for dessert right at your table.
Nice wine list from all over the world but I get a Greek Wine because so few places have one and it goes with the food
Service from our waitress Alore was awesome. She has great customer service skills. You will be lucky if you get her...or beat the odds and ask if she is working and if so beg to get in her section. But to be fair, I have been here multiple times and always had great and friendly service from everyone.
Anything goes dress code wise from casual to classy...just don't dress like a slob and you'll fit in.
Our favorite in Greektown and love that they take RSVPs instead of making you wait for an hour in the street or a cramped lobby like the other places down the street do.
Our server was excellent. The food was very good. I think the atmosphere could be stepped up a bit, it's a huge space with a bunch of tables and booths, not very 'Greektown' feeling to me, IMHO. Also, I though the flaming cheese could have been better, it was still a bit hard.
Our server made the evening extra special. The food is always a treat.
While visiting Detroit we reserved a table at Santorini. We chose to eat outdoors because the weather was so nice, not realizing that we would be sitting in the street while traffic whizzed by. Our bad choice and the table was not just wobbly, but nearly broken so we changed to another. The waitress was very nice, but the place is so understaffed that she was unable to provide us with good service. Our meals arrived and instead of asking if we wanted another drink she had to attend to the table next to us because their order was wrong. No one came to see us to ask if everything was ok and if we wanted anything else. The woman next to us got her meal, but her husband didn't get his until she was finished. When we finally saw the waitress again we were nearly finished and the glass of wine we'd liked to have had with our meal was an afterthought.
The food - the dips were fine - tzatziki was tasty as was the hummus, but the eggplant was tasteless and needed salt (which was hard to come by). The moussaka was obviously pre-frozen (every piece looked exactly alike) and not too tasty. My salad that was supposed to be filled with delicious grilled chicken, beans, cheeses, nuts was really just lots of lettuce with dried up chicken and almost no dressing. Inedible. Against our better judgment baklava was ordered and it too was tasteless and dry.
This places shouts TOURIST TRAP and we should have known better. I almost never give a bad review, knowing that any place can have a bad night, but when the food is so terrible I feel I have no choice. This was not a case of a bad night, but terrible management and a lack of caring about what kind of food is served.
Great service, excellent food!
Second time we came here while in town for business, and second time we had a fabulous experience. We will be back.
I enjoy this restaurant. The decor is fresh and relaxing, and the food is good. The portions are very generous for many dishes. The only thing I don't like about Santorini is the noise level. Even when there are only a few tables in use, it's loud enough to make conversations challenging.
