Ordered Chardonnay and served Sauvignon Blanc

Filet steak was grass fed which was not indicated on menu The waiter first said yes after I inquired and then checked with the chef — said the chef did not know!! What an embarrassment.

Waiter forgot dessert.

Waiter needs training but nice. Should not cross the customer’s face when serving.

No tablecloths. The tables were chipped and several glass water stains.

At check-in the host rather than seating us, made us wait while he completed electronic information on his iPad.

In the past, we have always had Brian as our server which was always a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case last night.

They sat us at a wobbly table. Instead of moving us to one of the many open tables they crawled around on the floor fixing it!

The service was mostly okay but the table near us ordered after us but got their entree before ours. We sat with an empty table for a while.

The food was quite good, though. The duck breast was really delicious. All presentations were well done.

If you choose order the foie grad be aware that while not mentioned on the menu it is pate.

The food was beyond delicious! However, the service was behind. Wait time for the food to be served was too long. The worst part is that we were finally served the wine that we ordered for our main courses (everything you have to order there right away, btw) when we almost finished eating.

We think our plates got mixed. I advised of my Gluten sensitivity and I was not able to finish my dessert. I ended having to leave to my room as I felt a severe response developing. All the food left my body. I think they may have mixed my husbands plate with mine. They need to have better quality control when food leaves the kitchen. Some places I’ve been to, are very good at making sure my Gluten sensitivity is cared for by serving on different style plates. I recall they said they would only have to adjust the sauces and that could be done with cornstarch. I recall always asking the waiter if it was Gluten safe and they would confirm. But I believe Gluten was somehow introduced into my meal which ruined our anniversary evening. Other than that, it would have been a pleasant experience. Hence my 3 stars. As the service was nice. But they were not careful.

I took my fiancé here for his birthday and we were both elated with the experience. Not only was the service extraordinary, but the food was beyond what expected. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional and an absolute joy to deal with. The level of service superseded any other highly rated restaurant we’ve been to. As we were staying at the hotel, we returned in the morning for breakfast and were just as pleased. Thank you Sante for making our special weekend that much better!

Our visit was a gift for our 58th wedding anniversary, and as it was our first time at Santé we were very surprised by the lack of ambience in the dining room. It is a very dull room, our table had no vase of flowers and the table top was stained and chipped. Unfortunately, although i asked for the AC to be turned off, the draft from the windows was noticeable as it was a chilly evening. Since we had been seated at that particular table, to avoid noise from the two other parties dining there that night, we did not ask to be moved even though there were plenty of vacant tables.
Expecting outstanding food we were delighted with parts of our meal, and the wines were excellent. However, my husband's scallops were inedible and mine were BARELY cooked and certainly had no char. I cook scallops, and know how they should be served. As my husband was offered a fresh serving of scallops, and with only the two of us at the table, the chef's error made for an unfortunate pause in our meal. Our server, Whitney, was helpful and I did report all this to the deputy restaurant manager. His name escapes me, but he is originally from Utrecht and will definitely remember our conversation.
That dining area is not easy to make attractive, as it is sprawling and gloomy due to the wood panels, but in my opinion if you choose not to use beautiful white tablecloths and napkins, you should go about changing the vibe with the help of interior designers as the lack of effort concerning guests' comfort and pleasure disappointed us hugely. We expected a stellar evening in what you refer to as a 'fine dining restaurant', but we were disappointed. Why is the restaurant described in glowing terms as being French? We are British and have dined all round France, but the ambience did not stir memories of fine dining in any Gallic top restaurant.

We dd the tasting menu and did not finish it. After 3 hours we asked for our check with 2 courses and 2 wines left. The price was $250/person. A total waste! It was ridiculous we were waiting so long between courses. Perhaps if we would have ordered off the regular menu we would have had a better experience.

Had the 7 course menu. Food was very good, as was the service. Staff very accommodating. Fine wine list - but very expensive. Lots of hotel guests from a meeting being held at the hotel.

Tasting menu was excellent! Great variety but good flow. Loved the mushroom risotto with black truffles and truffle foam! Service was Michelin star level. No complaints...everything was perfect. Will be back!

Drinks were overpriced ;wine list was abysmal...Particularly considering this is in wine country. Foie gras appetizer was wonderful; the tuna tartare not so much. Duck breast over cooked and not very flavorful. Desert was tres leches and was okay, but accompanied by the most gawdawful coffee! Service was a bit pretentious. So much potential here, just need an overhaul.

This is a very high end restaurant located in the Fairmont hotel. The menu is limited, but very carefully crafted for foodies...so if you like plain food, this is not the place for you. It could use a bit of a face lift...interior didn't really match the exterior of the Fairmont, but the food was fabulous!

Great looking dishes sometimes don't taste all that great.
The food looked great, AND tasted great.

The wait staff were attentive and treated us with courtesy and respect that is rarely seen anywhere else.

We have eaten at the some of the best fine dining spots in the world, and are happy to pay for wonderful food and a great experience. This does not come close. The first time we ate here was on my birthday, over a year ago. While the food and atmosphere, AND price, merit a special occasion, the service is their big weak point. During that first visit, our server was just going through the motions with a sing-song, phony voice, and the men in suits were snooty and pretentious. It was my birthday & I was the only person they continually ignored. They would look at and address the others, ignoring me. Could it be because I was the only non-Caucasian? We were all dressed for a fine dining experience, and so it wasn’t as if we came in t-shirts and jeans. This time, I hoped would be better. We were greeted warmly and had a good, personable, non-pretentious waiter. We did ask for bread several times, before they brought it. It was not warm, so baking it wasn’t the delay. The actual dishes were very good, but didn’t make anyone swoon (Central Market in Petaluma, beats the pants off of Sante when it comes to the food). We were told that they charge $25 corkage for the first two bottles you bring, and $50 if you have your own third bottle. But if you buy one of their super high priced bottles, they will remove one corkage fee. It seems that the men in suits here never tell you who they are, which happened during both our visits. I watched the man in the suit, who poured our wine this time, go around the table and top off everyone’s wine. He skipped me and topped off the next person’s glass. When I asked him why he did that, he sputtered a bit before pouring me a bit more. The bill arrived without a word. My husband thought it was a bit high, but didn’t say anything. The next day, we saw they had automatically added a 20% service charge, but didn’t tell us at any point, and the men had tipped another 20% on top of that. Still pretentious & money grubbing.

We had a lovely date night at Santé! The food was remarkable and the service was superb! We really enjoyed Zachary and all of his specific explanations of all the dishes.

Very disappointing. I had high expectations. Food was not the greatest. We had the lamb and duck. Lamb was good, but the duck and foie gras combo was disappointing. The flavor was just not there. In addition, the duck had a gamey taste than the lamb.

Overall, I would not go back.

Disappointing service, ended up walking out
We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and our table wasn't quite ready - no big deal. We had hoped to grab a drink at the bar while we waited, but after 10 minutes of waiting for the bartender to acknowledge us, we gave up. A minute or two later we were seated. Upon seating, one of the chairs was directly underneath a halogen down light, making it hard for my friend to look at the rest of us. She had to squint to look up at the waitress when she visited our table. We asked if it was possible to turn down the lighting we were told it wasn't possible. We asked if we could slightly rotate the table so that one seat wasn't directly in the path, they said that wasn't possible. We asked for a different table, there were multiple four tops open, they said they were booked. After reviewing the wine list, we realized prices were 3-4x that of other notable restaurants in town. We realized that if we were going to spend $500+ on dinner for four, we should enjoy the service, ambience, and the food. So for that night, we decided to pass on staying and left for another restaurant and we didn't regret our decision. We did let the maitre'd know on our way out how our experience went.
