We were staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn and chose to have dinner at the hotel. Wow, what a disappointment. The food was just ok (duck breast was rubbery and prepared with seaweed?!, fillet was a generous portion and good). The service was quite poor...slow, inattentive. The hotel is nice but skip Santé.
Hostess was rude and no one acknowledged our special occasion. Very disappointing for the high prices
We enjoyed fabulous food, wine and service at Sante! Highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance was delightful. Definitely plan to go again.
Heavy here many times! Always a very nice experience for staff to the chef. 5 stars!!
Really enjoyed the evening. Was surprised at how limited the menu was. Wine list was terrific. Great place for a group.
One of, if not the best, meals that I had in Sonoma. Food quality and presentation was excellent. Service was attentive. Very good wine selection.
Exceptional service, friendly & informative & not a bit of pretentiousness. The food was fine, nothing particularly outstanding except for the desserts, including a strawberry baked Alaska, which were quite excellent. Given the ho-hum of the food & the small portion sizes, menu items seem overpriced. Again, fantastic service.
Great atmosphere, attentive staff, fabulous cheese cart!
Great Sunday dinner, delicious salad, chicken and yummy dessert. Great service and outstanding wine list! This is definitely a first class restaurant!
Its a hotel restaurant and nothing more.
Our waiter Jesse was outstanding. We hadn’t been for several years and we were impressed with the food, the staff, the entire attentive experience.
We had a nice table near a window in the early evening. We enjoyed the watermelon/tomatoes appetizer and a great steak and duck entrees. Jonathan was a great waiter not just on serving but guiding me to avoid the steak being over done. I really appreciated his knowledge and advice.
Great food and service . Vince was great ! Had high end wines by the glass so we indulged in Scarecrow. Was a wonderful meal !
The food was delicious and the service was great!. Thank you Jonathon and Heather for a perfect evening.
Very nice atmosphere. Food was interestingly good.
We dined here for our first night in Sonoma. The food we had was good however we were really disappointed when adding up the cost of all items of the prefix menu. They were cheaper to buy individually than buying the prefix. This was disappointing. Our waiter was very inattentive to us. If it wasn’t for his assistant we would have complained while at the restaurant. While sitting at our table outside I came face to face to all people entering and exiting the pool which decreased the ambiance.
We are from Florida. This is one of the best places we have ever been. Loved all of the food and wine. Excellent service. So glad we went there !!
Excellent service team with great teamwork exhibited amongst them. Food and Beverage products and their preparation are excellent in every way.
Excellent experience. We sat outside as we have a dog, and they are dog friendly, which is a huge plus! Attentive service by Maria. Crab benedict was amazing, and lots of crab! Husband had the scramble and it was delicious as well. Will definitely be back.
Vongole main course badly cooked, starchy, with little flavour. Clams tough.
It’s a hotel restaurant ....someone wrote Earlier and I couldn’t agree more. Was here two years ago it was awesome , I heard they got a new chef and it shows . It’s extremely overpriced for very small portions. Strange food mixes and not very flavorful. Also, when someone orders multiple glasses of expensive wine pour the proper amount. Don’t skimp on your pour! especially in Sonoma !!!! It’s wine country !!
This is a quiet formal dining room with really not much energy. A limited menu, prepared well, but few choices. Wine list extensive but to few moderate priced wine alternatives. Many restaurants with better atmosphere and energy and food in the area so really no reason to go to a to formal place that's not much fun.
Excellent food and service. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu items and made great recommendation.
The setting is beautiful. The service was slow and inattentive. The food is so-so. The corkage fee is $35 and the sommelier was rude. Plus, it’s expensive! You can do much better.
The valets and the busboy were great!
We love Sante and have enjoyed their pre-fix menu especially. Offerings are seasonal and tonight's 4 courses was amazing. Amazing meal topped of by a petite Watmaugh (local strawberry grower) baked Alaska. Filled with strawberry sorbet and surrounded by chilled strawberry "gazpacho" !!
Room is far too dark for daytime dining. Looks like a design for a big city, formal restaurant. But it’s in the wine country? Food just OK. Wrong meal delivered. Quickly corrected, but in a room with only 4 tables full this shouldn’t happen. Outdoor space looked nice, but it was too hot out.
Incredible wine selections which you would expect in Sonoma Valley. Diverse menu, small bites, appetizers, healthy salads and entrees that are refreshing. The duck specifically is the best we have ever had.
Celebrating our wedding anniversary with a long weekend in Sonoma. Sante' looked like a great place for our special occasion meal. Overall, it was a nice dinner. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The wines were great. The food was excellent. They also acknowledged our anniversary during dessert. Overall, not a horrible visit by any means. They just need to up their service game a notch at this pricepoint. There was an aura of stinginess. I'm fairly certain a Michelin reviewer would not look fondly on the very light pairing pours. You should have enough wine to get through the full course which was not the case with the duck entree. We finished our pinot pour with 1/2 of the entree remaining. We asked the sommelier for another splash and he readily obliged, but would not have expected the need to do so. Every other restaurant of this caliber has always ensured our wine pours were topped off if needed.
the food was not that good, we order steaks and all 3 of us got very salty steaks.
Amazing food and service. I highly recommend the tasting menu :-)
Certainly nothing special. Had been looking forward to eating here, overall was pretentious with no reason to be. Food and kitchen try too hard with a lack of compatible ingredients and tiny portions. Way more expensive than it should have been, shrimp appetizer at $24 contains 2, yes two, shrimp. With wine over $350 for two. Don't expect anything from management. Ate at Girl & fig the next night, 10x the meal at less than 1/3 the cost.
One of the best! My wife and I have had the pleasure to eat at Santé recently. Food, wine, and service were all exceptional. The highlight was the food. Fresh ingredients, perfect sizes and presentation, and the flavor was so good the right word hasn’t been invented yet. If you’re in the area please do your taste buds a favor and stop in.
The tasting menu and wine pairing was spectacular.
It was our first night stay at the Fairmont and this test was recommended. Honestly it wasn’t the best compared to other local restaurants.
The service at Sante was and is always wonderful, however our salad was just not something to write home about and it’s summer with so many options with melon and citrus, yet it was just blah.
Our waitress and servers and buskers were always accommodating and pleasant.
Wonderful experience. Delicious food.
Ordered th pre-fixe menu. Beginning courses and bread were good. Our entrees missed the mark that night. That being said, do go for breakfast. All three days we ate breakfast there were outstanding!
Great food, wonderful wine selections, service was superb.
Great place for a night out with my main man!
