Santa Fe is a wonderful neighborhood gem.
Santa Fe has long been a neighborhood favorite of mine--from way back at its old brownstone location. But time and the pandemic haven't been kind to Santa Fe. At this point, the menu feels tired to me, some of the more interesting options have disappeared, and although I love the comfy vibe of the place, some of its fun and luster is harder to find. Still, old habits die hard, and it's not nice to abandon an old friend. So I'll probably keep coming, but encourage Santa Fe to switch up the menu with some specials now and again (as in the Before Times).
Always great go to place in the hood
This is a wonderful neighborhood place. Many of the guests are regulars which adds to the welcoming ambiance. The owner is frequently present and is extremely nice. And, the food is really good, plentiful and well priced. And bears a decent and delicious resemblance to the Mexican food I loved in Southern California.
You can ask to have your delicious Margarita with a "light pour" of tequila - which will enable you to stagger home!!!
Food was delicious. Service was attentive. Perfect place if you love Mexican food.
We truly enjoyed dinner at Santa Fe. Will tell all my friends. Was my birthday dinner and was so pleased!
Great service and great margarita
Good food, good service and very comfortable in these Covid times.
Food is always good at this Lincoln Center standby.
Tasty Mexican food and lovely desserts and big satisfying drinks.
This visit the place seemed short handed and the staff a little overwhelmed.
I'm sure that will be temporary
Very good, as always. A real neighborhood gem. Fine food. Excellent staff and super friendly service. Highly recommended.
Love to go here, lovely personal service.
As always, Santa Fe is a wonderful place to dine. The menu has changed and seems more limited but what we ordered was excellent; also pricier (although higher prices seem to be typical these days).
A neighborhood favorite. Inside back room tables separated by plexiwalls.
Food always good. Many of the waiters have been there for a long time.
Noisy is the one negative.
There is a reason Santa Fe has been around for so long. Value for money is one, but the consistently good food and welcoming atmosphere are two others. This is a friendly place without attitude that treats its regulars and newcomers alike with respect and professional service. Our recent outing included the best version of their shrimp chipotle I have had. We regularly have lunch there because the tortilla soup is excellent.
It’s a reliable, reasonably priced neighborhood restaurant that does much more than serve good margaritas!
A perfect afternoon or evening spot for a taste of Mexico food with a find selection of margaritas to add zest to a varied selection of Mexican dishes. They have managed to create a warm, friendly atmosphere to welcome diners who are in search of hospitality and good food.
Early dinner before the Opera. Not many people so noise level may have been atypical. Great margarita and guacamole. Chicken, fajitas, chimichangas, and salmon all very tasty. Service efficient and attentive. We’ll be back!
Consistent good food and service
We were offered a choice of indoor or outdoor dining and chose outdoor. It was very pleasant and we were not crowded in. The server was attentive, the food was very good. I asked to substitute the vegetable of the day (haricot verts) for the mashed potatoes so I could have the spinach that came with the dish along with the green beans; they brought me the mashed potatoes and green beans. The server was right on it, took the potatoes back and brought spinach in a few minutes. Both the vegetables were excellent. They did upcharge me $9.00 for the substitution, which seems excessive. (And the server didn't inform me of the upcharge when I asked to substitute, which would have been nice.) Both meals we got were very good, but a bit overpriced for what seems like a neighborhood place.
Fabulous food and service. A gem! Alex is the best!
Santa Fe never disappoints. The service is always friendly and efficient. Burritos are huge and very tasty, and the chimichangas are also very good. It’s a great place to go with friends because the of the atmosphere—it always seems filled with happy people.
Friendly, courteous wait-service. Great and affordable food.
Great fish, corn muffins!
Food was good, but way overpriced. 2/3 of my $30 plate was rice and beans. If this was a $15-20 dish I’d come back 1x a week.
Food comes out quickly
Host/Manager is very professional and helpful
Very good overall experience
Great place. Very accommodating. Special thanks to the manager. Excellent food.
Santa Fe is my go to restaurant.
Been to Santa Fe multiple times, it never fails! Would love to know the alcohol content of their frozen margaritas because WOO- they catch me off guard every time. This is a favorite of mine!
Always reliably delicious. I cannot wait to go back.
Wonderful as always.
The Chef was very nasty and gave us a VERY hard time about our Service Dog.
We enjoyed the outdoor space. You should make it available for reservations.
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant
We had not been to Santa Fe in several years. I forgot had great the food was here. Beautiful new art on the walls and new chandeliers. The waiter was very nice and patient and waited for us to talk for 40 minutes before we ordered our dinners. The crispy shrimp tacos with avocado were scrumptious! My husband had the tacos Al carbon also delicious. My friends had the fajitas which were divine. The real shocker was the dessert. I’ve never been a big fan of flan but my friends ordered it and I had a taste. Omg shockingly delicious! Very creamy with a light texture. We had the churros which came with 2 little side dishes, one with melted dark chocolate and the other with milk chocolate. Very satisfying and enjoyable evening. You won’t regret it.
Our family often goes to Santa Fe Sunday night for a lovely dinner. There are two young boys, parents and a set of grandparents and everyone generally enjoys the experience. The food was good. It was served quickly enough for the boys to eat and not disturb other diners and the waitress was pleasant and efficient. All in all, another nice Sunday dinner spent together.
Excellent venue for outdoor dining even with a bit of rain coming down.
Very nice dinner
We really enjoyed our dinner at Santa Fe. The waitstaff was really nice and the food and drinks were excellent.
Eating at Santa Fe for over 30 years, my favorite go to restaurant. Good service and good food!
Santa Fe is such a neighborhood gem. My husband and I had our first date here and come back every month to celebrate our love. The food is divine and the drinks pack a punch! We are so happy they are back open!
Loved it. Coming back next weekend. I don’t even like Asian food very much but this was delightful.
