Reliably great food and margaritas!
Steady, consistently good food. Always excellent service.
Come here several times a year. Typically very satisfactory although service this visit was a bit less attentive than usual, but also seemed a bit busier than usual. Service, however, was still good.
Santa Fe is one of my go-to places before or after a Lincoln Center event. My friends and I haven't experienced poor service, food, etc. Definitely recommend to others.
Best food and fantastic ambience. Friendly staff. Best margarita in NYC!
Absolutely wonderful at every level - a neighborhood treasure.
My favorite neighborhood spot to go with friends to talk and catch up. The food is really good— I highly recommend the black bean dip as an appetizer to share— it’s so yummy—and the service is wonderful—friendly and attentive without being at all over bearing. I’ve never felt rushed as I linger over coffee at the end of a meal. The dining room in the back is spacious and pretty and the noise level has generally been very good (which, is to say, not too loud) something that, along with the wonderful service, make it a great place to go with a friend to catch up. In short, I’ve been a big fan of this highly reliable restaurant since I first went to it many years ago and highly recommend it!
One of my go-to places and has been for 10 years. If you haven’t been you are missing out. Great margaritas and great Mexican food.
Always love our dinners here
Great place- very accommodating! Nice food, enough room to sit and not too noisy so we could talk- would definitely go back!
Amazing dinner experience! Great service, delicious food, top-notch margaritas, cozy restaurant. I will definitely go back the next time I’m in the city.
Great place for informal or formal dining. The food is very delicious.
Searching for quiet ambience and good food. We have always found both here, along with friendly and attentive service. Our friends who were here for the first time were pleased.
The atmosphere is warm and lovely, but sadly the food is really bland. It’s rare to get such bland food at an NYC restaurant. It’s also very expensive bland food. Really disappointing.
A reliable choice for a Mexican meal. Casual but with good service and splendid drinks. Have used many times and never disappointed.
Best fajitas in NYC!!! Terrific food always fantastic buzz. One of my favorite restaurants in New York City.
Margaritas were amazing!
Comfortable, neighborhood stop. Busy bar, great chips and salsa. No issue just having a small plate and drink (wine, beer, sangria)
I always enjoy it; food and service is excellent; you can hold a conversation. Love Upper Westside! Liz
Excellent margaritas. Food delicious
My friend and I had concert tickets nearby, so I suggested a return to Santa Fe, where we used to eat more regularly when we worked in the area. As we were fairly early, I had my choice of tables in the main dining room (a lot of people chose to eat out front near the bar), a very pleasant space, and quieter than the front. The service was excellent, and our waiter made a special to the kitchen to make sure my friend's food allergy would not be impacted by a dish he wanted to try. When I ordered a chicken appetizer, my friend asked if it would be a good idea for us to share--it's a good thing he did, as it was quite a large portion for a starter! My trout with sweet potato hash was delicious, and my friend enjoyed his chicken as well. We were never rushed, and still made our concert with time to spare...
Guac, salsa, pork enchiladas were ok. Would have preferred fried nacho chips to baked chips. Margarita was TERRIBLE. It tasted as if it had a carbonated ingredient? I wasn’t in the mood to make a fuss, and waiter never asked why my drink remained untouched.
Very pleasant local place. Great place to go with friends who like to talk.
I and my 2 friends had dinner on Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend. Always liked the place after years of coming here but not anymore.
When ordering our drinks my friend asked the waitress if the raspberry frozen margarita was good to which the waitress said it was very good and if my friend didn't like it she'd get her a different one. Well, my friend didn't like the raspberry margarita as it was too sweet and syrupy. We also tried it and concurred. My friend asked the waitress if she could get a different flavor margarita and sent the full glass of raspberry margarita back.
My friend payed the bill and later told me she was indeed charged for the raspberry margarita even though she barely touched it and was led to believe that she would not be charged if she didn't like it. This was not classy and left me felling annoyed as I recommended this place to my friends--a big mistake.
The place was not busy being that this was a Sunday evening of Labor day weekend thus the waitress should have been in tune with the situation. Additionally, the waitress never asked us if everything was fine and had to remind her of my initial request for a bottle of hot sauce.
Don't think I'll be coming here again nor will recommend to others.
A very pleasant restaurant. Nothing particularly unusual with the food, though the food is equal to similar restaurants in the area. The ambience is the standout point here. The decor is warm. Cocktails are varied and competitively priced.
My favorite local spot
Love this place! Tasty food, great margaritas, wonderful service.
always enjoy the house margarita and the fish tacos and the complimentary chips and salsa. and love the space in the rear with the apricot-colored walls and basketry and pottery lending a pleasant atmosphere.
Great frozen margaritas are the best in the area! Bean dip appetizer is worth it.
Food is good (not great). A little overpriced for Mexican food.
Excellent Spinach Salad. Crab Cakes not crabby enough.
Please do not use or post this review. I completed it only as a way of closing your survey loop. I marked everything average because as soon as we sat down, NYC experienced a blackout affecting the restaurant. We decided to leave and the management was understanding. Fortunately, we left as it was more than 2 hours before our area got power back.
Perfect lunch spot. Great portion sizes and great atmosphere.
Good time. Decent food
Pleasant local Mexican with decent drinks and food.
I would only recommend to a low-key friend who is no frills. This is a great neighborhood spot. My husband doesn't like to come here because it feels dirty- which is true. Needs an update, but great margaritas and relatively reasonable.
Good drinks and yummy, plentiful food. Service prompt and friendly.
Best margarita in NYC. Outstanding food and service. Wait staff so gracious.
A really enjoyable Mexican restaurant.
