Excellent food service and ambiance- will be back!
Best restaurant in Southampton and even better than sister restaurant on Madison Ave.
Dining at Sant Ambroeus is a great on all levels. The staff makes the delicious food even more wonderful!!!
Excellent food and wines, good service, but a bit loud and very expensive ($500 for 4).
We arrived 10 minutes early and despite continued assurances that our table would be ready shortly we had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated. The previous table just lingered, and we understand that they can't just be made to leave. It set a bad mood for our dinner. To their credit, the restaurant did cover our champagne. The food was good but not extraordinary, and it was very pricey
Over priced and sea food had to be sent back uncooked
Great bread, wonderful salads, and incredible pasta. I had today's special pasta with sweet Italian sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, and a touch of cream. One of my favorite all-time meals. And it was topped off by a lovely Rose, and followed by a Viennese cappuccino. Sitting on the beautiful outside alley/patio on a perfect summer day
The out door seating is in an alley. Logistics are difficult. Food way over priced. 2 salads and a glass of wine $150
Horrible service. Good food. Amazing wine and cocktail and desserts.
As always, a charming, welcoming, beautiful atmosphere. The food and the service are outstanding.
Everything was delicious! We will definitely return!
Excellent dining experience!
Lovely, great food.
Excellent Northern Italian - my favorite in the Hamptons and I have lived there since the 60's
Sant Ambroeus in Southampton does not disappoint - always good, very fresh, Italian food - best in the area - and kind service. Their bread is also delicious as are desserts!!
Definitely one of my favorite spots in Southampton... it never disappoints
Always high quality and a treat. The welcome is warm, service good and food is something special for this area - classic Italian.
Good food but overpriced and took awhile for our waiter to give us menus / take our order.
Always great. Still the best place out East.
The only restaurant in The Hamptons with consistently excellent food! They go above and beyond to accomodate special dietary requests when possible.
......BUT five stars for doing it so right! Some restaurants know what they what to deliver and KNOW how to do it; Sant Ambroeus does this easily, and in more than one location; this So Hampton edition is every bit as wonderful as Madison Ave, and in JANUARY; they just have such a specific and wonderfully developed "personality"which delivers quality service, food, confections and coffees; we enjoyed this lunch so much;the Bolognese sauce can challenge the best ones; the restaurant and stand up coffee bar constantly filled with very satisfied and grateful locals; us too, just not so local!
Elegant setting, exquisite food and friendly professional service. A perfect meal, pricey but well worth it. La dolce vita in Southampton Bravo💋
We go to Sant Ambroeus for Sunday night dinners. It is always a treat. Had an excellent the special seafood salad (usually have carpaccio which is fantastic), Linguini alla vongole, wine and Gianduia (hazlenut cake) & coffee gelato for dessert. The seafood is fresh and the portions generous - more than in the summer generally. I always feel transported to Milan.
This continues to be the most overrated --- and exorbitantly overpriced -- restaurant in the Hamptons. They have a delusion about their grandeur!
One of the very best polpo (octopus) I've ever eaten, anywhere. Service outstanding, food exceptional... can't wait to go back for dinner in "The Alley."
Our meal was (sadly) fine. I anticipated better. Love the asparagus and usually the risotto but it wasn't great this trip. Biggest issue was the wait - 2 of us and lunch on a Monday took almost 2 hours. We had to ask the waiter more than once when put food would be served. Will not plan to go back soon
Hostess was very rude with many clients.
We had an amazing experience at Sant Ambroeus. Loved the food and the outdoor seating. Overall great experience , just felt it was little bit overpriced.
What a lovely lunch we had. The staff was so attentive and polite. We started with a shared ravioli and a glass of Rose, both were excellent. We then had the halibut which was prepared perfectly. We were told you have to try the gelato which also did not disappoint. The meal was delicious, the portions were plenty . If you are looking for an economic lunch go somewhere else, if you are looking for service, excellent food and ambiance this is the place.
As several times before, my wife and I enjoyed everything about our lunch at Sant Ambroeus. She requested the traditional Carpaccio rather than the one on the menu and they were glad to oblige. I had the La Caprese. Both were excellent. We both had the Dover Sole for our main course -- simply outstanding. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server Arturo was as professional as they come. Look forward to our next time at Sant Ambreous.
Food was delicious, the choice of music was not appropriate to the atmosphere.
The service was adequate - while diners on either side of our table were offered bread twice during their meal we only received the attention once. It also took awhile to get the check.
In regards to the dessert - serving it on a doilie especially when the dessert is cream filled makes it very difficult to eat without getting the paper stuck and tearing it to pieces.
The food quality is moderate . The prices are extremely high . The service was very good . Its a usual Southampton tourist trap
Began our first visit to Southampton with a delicious meal here. The fine dining space is small tucked away behind the gelato bar. Fine service began with a delicious artichoke salad, then the special veal rolatini...to die for. We ended with gelato of course. Expensive but worth it for a special treat.
Amazing food. Amazing wait staff. Wicked good dinner!
On a gorgeous, sunny afternoon, we decided to have dessert and a glass of wine and coffee, while sitting on the outside patio. And yes, we did have a reservation. There were two other occupied tables. We were seated and we asked for the dessert menu. The waitress returned to inform us if we were only having dessert, we would have to go buy it from the patisserie and eat it there.
Are you kidding me, Sant Ambrose?
So I cannot review the food or the service, however, I can safely say I would never recommend it to anyone, even if they were eating a full meal.
First of all, I love this restaurant in NYC and thought I would love the Southampton location until our experience this past Monday eve. Understanding it's a Monday reservation after a summer weekend of demanding locals and patrons and the staff wanted to go home however it was the fastest $500 meal for 3 people (one entree and apps) that I've ever had .
We were enjoying ourselves and even were asked for last call so we ordered another glass of wine for two of us and glass of champagne for my friend. Before we could get a couple sips into our last drink, the waiters started hovering around.
We sat in the garden area of which would have been easy for us to leave (they had locked the main door already) after enjoying our last drink however the couple servers made us very uncomfortable by standing over us less than five feet away from the table. It frustrated one of our guests so much who had taken the train out just in time for dinner that eve .
If you plan to go, ensure in addition to the high premium on prices that you ask your server if you have time to finish your meal including last call drinks. Our reservation was for 9:15 and they probably should not have sat us or managed our expectations that they would be expecting us to finish our meals and out the door by 10pm close.
Sad for this experience given I love the NYC location's food and service so much but I'm afraid I will choose other upscale dining options in Southampton who have a more mindful level of patron service.
The most expensive restaurant in Southampton, but the food is wonderful, so it is worth it and always packed.
Its just one of those places that gets away with charging really high prices for tiny portions. The decor is nothing special. There arent a lot of other options around so thats how it stays in business..
I've heard a lot positives about Ambroeus. Visiting the Hamptons frequently, Sant Ambroeus will become a definite visit. The food was excellent, great balance in the flavors. I had Seafood Ravioli. The taste of the seafood, pasta, and the tomato sauce was very well balanced. Most restaurant will overpower the taste with the sauce. One could really enjoy and savor all the flavors. It was a real treat. Very nice wine list which really complimented lunch. Service was elegant, friendly, and warm. One really felt like belonging and wanting to experience all of it again. Thank you Sant Ambroeus.
We have been coming here for years and always have a fantastic time. Attentive service, a wonderful menu, and interesting specials are found every time.
