Always the best
Lovely experience. Food great! Service a little below par, but I would attribute that to post Covid understaffing as restaurants try to get their bearings.
Delicious and wonderful! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Sitting on Lafayette Sitting outside and watching the parade of people always entertaining. Fantastico!!
Poor indoor seating.. wrong wine charged to the bill; still insisted on the correct service; I had taken the screen shot of the ordered wine.. then they changed the bill! We have paid same price for Nobu downtown.. wouldn’t recommend to friends..
Sant Ambroeus Soho has always been one of my favorites places in the city and I've enjoyed visiting regularly over the years. Thats why it was my first option to go for lunch with a friend that I have not seeing for a very long time.
But what a disappointment did I get yesterday.
The new manager is there just to boost his ego and his attitude is 'it's my way and I do not care you are the costumer".
I had made a reservation for outdoors 3 weeks in advance and upon arrival the new hostess, who is not that much friendlier, escorted me to the 'wood "cabanas/steam rooms' that were fine during winter-pandemic situation but do not work in warmer Spring-Summer days; it was 80 degrees yesterday and I did not want to do that to my very fashionable woman friend.
I asked to be seated under the awning area which was completely empty but I was told that those were for guests with reservations; exactly; like if I didn't have a reservation.
The only option offered were to be seated inside and I was left standing outside while I waited for my friend to decide what she wanted to do. I was totally ready to go somewhere else but after her arrival we decided to just get it over with and eat inside.
Sant Ambroeus' new management will be responsible for their business demise.
We are in time that after a year of pandemic people have 0 tolerance for the BS and the mistreatment of patrons.
The new manager needs to get with the program and overcome his insecurities because the times where patrons went out to be mistreated by the rude employees on the false pretense of being at a cool place are long gone. It is not about you.. it is about the costumer.
Love this restaurant! The food and service is exceptional!
Great all-around - fun staff and the food comes out SO HOT and the wine and cocktails are great and so is the bread.
We had a lovely date. Such a beautiful restaurant.
The ambiance was pleasant as the seating was outside in a private pod. However, the food was not particularly impressive. The best part of the meal was the prosciutto and mozzarella. They were both fresh and delicious. However, the main courses were nothing to write home about. The bolognese lacked flavor, brussel sprouts were nothing special and doused in olive oil and the salmon underdone. Pretty pricey for average tasting food.
Outdoor setup kept falling on customers in the wind
I have been a regular customer of the restaurant for many years and I always appreciated the ambiance and the Italian food. This week’s experience was really bad, we ordered 2 pastas (cacio and peppe, pesto ), the first one did not have an hint of pecorino or parmigiana and was dripping butter, and looked re-heated, the pasta looked liked spaghetti (vs regular bucatini), the second one did not have a gram of fresh pesto and looked like green pasta overcooked with a mushy look, and an overwhelming spicy sauce, nothing to do with pasta al pesto. Very disappointing, this cannot be done by an Italian chef.
All side perks such as bread look very cheap and lower quality than it used to be.
Great for coffee and dessert. Friendly staff and management
Had my daughters 18th dinner here and it was beautiful. The waitress was awesome and the food was great. My only complaint is the cabins should have a heater in them especially for late spring/winter nights or provide blankets like Laduree does during the garden dining. We brought our own.
Amazing food and drinks! The beets, eggplant and salmon were all delicious.
Always a great meal at Sant Ambroeus
Love this place
Always a great time. The staff is friendly and very attentive. 5 star service.
Wonderful services and food was exquisite.
Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Perfect! Must go back
During this Pandemic it’s been so lovely to see any restaurant at all succeeding. Keeping up with the regulations is next to impossible (from a financial standpoint), and adhering to them takes a ton of hard work from every team member. I’ve dined at several Saint Ambroeus locations since Covid began, and each one has been safe, accommodating, and a quite lovely experience. I dream of the artichoke salad; it’s so simple but the portion size is lovely and it’s dressed perfectly. Our server was sweet, efficient and attentive. The management team indoors greeted me kindly upon entry. Each table had a heater which did the job just fine. (if we are choosing to dine out in winter during a pandemic, the onus should be on us to dress appropriately, which I did and was very comfortable at my private plexiglass cordoned off table). I will continue to support this group.
Great service and the food was perfect
La comida muy regular, tenia las expectativas muy altas sobre el lugar. El servicio esporádico.
Always awesome and delicious! Our favorite SoHo for lunch and dinner or just a stop by espresso. The best!
Sadly, when I arrived the host didn’t greet me. He was scolding someone near the bathroom for a while. I arrived on time for my reservation and I was waiting 5 minutes by the front door. The bartender felt embarrassed and came from behind the bar and told the host I had a reservation and he just told him to do it and he kept scolding the waiter behind the bathroom wall. The waiters looked stressed too and finally I was brought to the table by the waitress. Luckily, the waitress was very nice, but I was really surprised by the service in the beginning. There used to be a host there that knew everyone’s name and was always smiling. I miss those days. I know restaurants are struggling right now, but it’s hard to watch people being reprimanded in public, its so distasteful. Also when you have to eat outside in the cold due to restrictions they should be happy that people are coming to eat and try to create it a memorable experience no matter what. I hate to write this, I used to come here for my birthday too.
My new favorite restaurant! Had the most amazing evening with my husband. Will be returning frequently for that amazing pasta and cocktail list!
Staff was warm an welcoming and social distance practices made for piece of mind.
They really helped us celebrate some exiting news! And tried their best to mitigate the cold...covid times.
Yoenn and Benny were incredible, as always!! Always a neighborhood favorite.
We had a reservation for 10 am and it opens at 12
We went on the last night before restaurants were closed for coronavirus. Sant Ambroeus somehow struck a balance between a sterile/sanitary environment and a festive one. They were adhering to social distancing protocols and wearing gloves. But it was still such a warm environment. Again, somehow. Thank you and hope to see you in person again soon.
Strange night. Strange staff, loads of them but service lacked. Appetizers were great, entrees were average. Too many good places in this city to return to this one.
The service was terrible. I had to speak to a manager at least twice and the service never got better. The food was just okay with what too much salt in the entrees. The appetizers were very good.
Sant Ambroeus Soho is a gem. The food and the service are both top shelf. We love this place. It was very busy on an early Saturday afternoon, so we made reservations for a Sunday brunch. Their eggs benedict is cooked to perfection, and believe it or not, light! The avocado toast with poached eggs also received rave reviews from my husband. Eating here is really an elevated dining experience. Go!
Usually go to the West Village location, but since there was no availability there, we decided to go to the Soho location for our Valentine dinner. We felt very rushed through the meal. We weren’t the only ones who felt that. On a Friday night, I understand that it’s important to turn tables quickly, but you can’t do that to your patrons on a big dining night like Valentine’s Day. It honestly put a damper on our night out. The food was good, but to be approached a number of times through the meal asking if we were ready for the next course, was a bit excessive. It’s unfortunate.
Excellent food and service
Dined at Sant Ambroeus to celebrate my mom and my birthdays. The food and service were both incredible; coupled with a fun ambiance that was still quiet enough to have good conversation makes it a must try. Sant Ambroeus had been on my list of restaurants to try and I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Beautiful ambiance and great service. The food was good, but just ‘ok’ for me in comparison to NYC Italian cuisine. It’s more about the vibe and scene here. Had a great catch up with a friend and would go back again.
