Sant Ambroeus - Madison Avenue
We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.
Great caring service. Most welcoming
A chic slice of Europe on Madison Avenue an
Very arrogant. Snooty service . They need a lesson in hospitality.
This is a place where I always feel pretty sure I am getting “real” food and outstanding service. Pricey - I caution my friends for sticker shock - but being from Atlanta it is not a place we frequent.
Lasagna is out of this world. One of the best outside of Italy.
Outstanding. This establishment serves some of the best food in NYC and possibly the best service. Highly recommend you try.
You will love it.
Excellent restaurant will definitely return.
Salad was ok. The service was great and very attentative. Expensive salad for the output. I like their breakfast much better than lunch. Although others had very fresh pasta and looked delicious.
A great avocado toast!
Great place for breakfast and dinner.
Food is great and so is the ambiance.
Good enough food, but OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. In fact, the exorbitant prices made the food disappointing because I was expecting exceptional and I got average.
Súper lugar, comida deliciosa mega Recomendable, lugar super fancy .
The best Vitello Tonnato on earth...well, certainly in New York. The food and service are traditional and perfect.
As always my trips to the city include at least one stop at Sant Ambroeus...Madison Ave. This trip was no exception, Pierre and I enjoyed a delicious lunch of Melanzane ala Parmigiana, Linguine Vongole and , and the special fish of the day, Pesce del Giorno with a perfect version of puttanesca sauce....accompanied with the bread that we can't wait to have and a nice crisp Meroi Sauvignon. As difficult as it was we passed on dessert this time, although the dessert tray is always incredible. Always greeted with a smile by Florin, and the service is always consistent, helpful and friendly. Tetyana took great care of us. Looking forward to my next visit and another wonderful experience at Sant Ambroeus!
Too over priced
Sant Ambreous is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. It is beautiful, comfortable, and the food is wonderful.
Very nice breakfast!
A classic with good food, just pay attention that the menu is not the same in all the restaurants in the chain; also the noise level on the soho one!
Everithing was amazing!
Great service! Great food and fast kitchen! Great location!
Saint Ambroeus at Madison Avenue is one of the Best Restaurant in New York
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing.
Fine dining, exceptionally good food, attentive staff who are amenable to giving
attention to personal menu requests. Overall a great experience.
Food was very good and a quaint little place, albeit overpriced for a non-Michelin restaurant.
We have been going here, our neighborhood restaurant, for many years.
We have noticed the prices consistently going up. Unfortunately, their food no longer warrants that escalation.
I ordered pasta which was overly drenched in tomato sauce and greasy as well.
Their soup was quite good, however their salads were not. Nor do they have the salad selection they used to.
All told , I would only comment that we will not be returning anytime soon.
We enjoy every lunch and dinner that we experience in sant Ambrose. Friendly and professional service, always seated on time, with a nice and warm attitude. Food is extremely fresh, and made custom to order.
Food is consistently well executed and service is professional and welcoming. Always a great meal!
When i am in the city I always make it a point to visit Sant Ambroeus ....this trip
my guest and I had lunch twice at SA. It was fabulous. One of my favorite NY
restaurants! John Mocker
A meeting over coffee with a long-standing client of the restaurant. Perfect place for a private conversation in a lovely environment with impeccable service.
Always a lovely way to meet friends for brunch. The food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere very neighborly.
It is always nice to come back to Sant Ambroeus
The restaurant is lovely. A piece of Europe. Some nights can be mouser than others. Three seating areas. For intimate and quiet conversation the middle station is best. If you want to see who’s who and be seen.. the main back restaurant is the place!!
As longtime and repeat guests from Chicago, we were extraordinarily disappointed to be seated close by another table when the restaurant was empty on Easter Sunday evening. The hostess and manager, when told at the end of the meal, were less than accommodating. Basically, the hostess lied and stayed the table we desired next to us was to be seated in :15, when inquired at seating. This was not the case as no guest/s joined for well over an hour, and no return to the table by hostess and manager ever occurred. The Dole Sole was rubbery and not cooked well.
When we indicated our disappointment at departure, both manager and hostess were less than helpful. We will not return and most definitely not recommend to anyone else, as we have told countless friends and colleagues to enjoy the hospitality and food when in New York. No more!
Enjoyable restaurant just a bit exaggerated in prices.
We know Sant Ambroeus for years in Milan and in New York. The service and the food were always outstanding. The only minus was that the Barolo Borgognoli (by the glas) was a little bit herb, not as soomth as I thought it would be.
Dining at Sant Ambroeus is so civilized. The food is divine. The service is attentive and polite. The clientele comes from the neighborhood, one of Manhattan's most sophisticated. This isn't for tourists who are looking for an affordable bite to eat after visiting an area museum. But if you're looking to see how the well-heeled dine in the area, this is the place.
We are big fans of Sant Ambroeus. Never disappoints, always excellent!!
Sant Ambroeus is always a very big pleasure to return to a restaurant that knows how to treat customers each and every time, and serve consistently very good food. We always welcome an opportunity to go and be a part of their “family”!
