Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar - WAIKIKI, Oahu
The sashimi platter took 40 minutes to prepare and it was disappointing. The price was not worth it. The service was good because restaurant offered us free miso soup to compensate the wait.
We had a great experience. Our waiter was amazing and recommended the best sushi for us! Such a great experience and amazing food!! Thank you!!!!
Excellent service. Food was tasty. Very nice touch accommodating special occasion.
Surprisingly excellent food and service. Such a great restaurant to have as an option as a Marriott guest.
Worst sushi ever had.
Lovely table outside, menu was very extensive with lots to choose from. I had sushi and my husband had salmon. Both very good. Very convenient location within our hotel. I would recommend.
Server was outstanding and the food was scrumptious (especially the pank crusted ahi sashimi; I still can’t stop thinking about it!). I would definitely go to Sansei again!
Service was very good. We thought it was too expensive for the quality of the food. Too much noise.....décor average.
I liked the crab broth!
First time we have ever ordered a speciality roll that was just plain horrible. Service was also terrible. Wouldn’t recommend this Resturant ever😞
Server was excellent. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for a WAIKIKI hotel restaurant. I would definitely go back again.
Wonderful date night with my husband in Waikiki!
Raw seafood is always my concern but I'm never worried whenever I dine at Sansei. Fresh, raw fish should not ever smell fishy. If it does, then you know it's old or spoiled. Sansei's excellent chefs are trained to select the most freshest fish and it's kept in a chilled environment so that it does not go bad. Whenever I'm looking for consistently fresh fish, with a variety of sushi options, I always think of Sansei. Oh, and by the way, we ordered their aged beef, and served it "pupu -style". This means it's cooked and sliced, and meant to be shared, like an appetizer. That, and along with the foie gras sushi, was so "ono" (delicious)!
No bread here, just edamame. Expensive for what you are getting. But the ahi carpaccio was outstanding. So was the shrimp appetizer. Delicious and very satisfying. The fish which came with birds nest shrimp was excellent as well.
Something for every taste and appetite! Ono food with great service!
All of us really enjoyed the appetizers and sushi rolls.
Sansei is a great place! Their sushi is truly great and I highly recommend. I’ve eaten at Sansei several times and really, really enjoy it. This particular time, we waited longer than what is acceptable and the manager recognized it, discounted our meal, and gave us free drinks. So they took care of us and kept me as a very happy customer!
Very good food
The restaurant was not full, lots of empty tables but the service was slow and we had to wave down the server several times.
The kitchen/sushi bar was especially slow with one dish arriving at a time leaving guests to sit and wait for their dishes to arrive. It took 1 1/2 hours for all of the dishes to be served and we finally wanted to leave it took way too long.
Portions have shrunk and they would be better off raising prices even $1 per item than serve small portions.
It is time that they also update their tables and chairs in the dining room.
It used to be our favorite go to spot but we will it return.
Love this place
Enjoyed restaurant week menu! Will be back soon...!👍😊
Great food and service.
The service was excellent. My wife and I had one of the best sushi in our life and we eat sushi at least once a week. Our children had really good chicken and they enjoyed it. We only regret that they don’t have lunch sittings as well. We would have liked to eat there again.
We got the restaurant week prefix menu. The place is starting to be a little dated and the seats were sinking in but the food and service was awesome. Would definitely go back for the friendly service and food.
Restaurant Week is a great time to visit Sansei to get a good idea of the versatility of this wonderful restaurant! Our party of 4 had such a great time and our wait staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. They went into detail in describing the dishes as well as complimenting wines. Try to attend this restaurant with friends who like to share!
Visiting Oahu with my Best friend and was so excited to see Sansei at our hotel as I had dined in Wailea, Kapalua and Kona previously many times. She doesn’t eat Sushi but d.k. Steak was seemingly a part of the restaurant so that was good for her. The tuna tataki was so fatty as to be almost inedible and my spicy tuna roll was dry and seemingly prepared hours before. Her steak was overdone to the point of leathery. The only saving grace is that when our server alerted the manager, she was gracious and comped our meal and gave our glass of wine at half price. The downside is I’m not sure I’ll ever try dining at any of the sansei locations again.
Diana was awesome. She was very patient and is a great server.
Went here for a night of our honeymoon. Sat outside, it was lovely. Food and service were great! We got sushi
A good restaurant for chatting up and enjoying music, but I wouldn’t say that the food is authentic Japanese food.
This was the best sushi I've had! I'm glad someone recommended it! We will definitely be back when we visit Waikiki.
The place needs a rebuild. It's TIME! As soon as you enter the restaurant you know it's old and tired. Staff where also on the same page. You could tell they were mailing it in. The A/C didn't work which gives you a bad feeling in a sushi restaurant. It's a shame cause the food was pretty good.
Great time and excellent service with AMAZING food.
Food terrific and very tasty. Kyle, our server was fantastic. Wish South Bay Ca had a Sansei Restaurant.
They do have a gluten free menu which was great and took into consideration my gluten and dairy allergies but the food did not taste good.
I had the salad and fish, the salad was a huge plate of green and a tiny piece of fishy that was very dry and fishy flavour therefore not fresh. I only ate a few bites.
The other 3 individuals in the party hardly touched their meals as well. No one asked how we liked our meals and it should of been a concern with full plates being picked up as finished.
To note the veggie roll gluten free was good.
I would not return, paid $100 per couple and not able to eat the food.
Sushi sampler was delish. Service by Shane L. was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. Sit on patio.
Food was good as usual. The service was the worst I’ve ever had there. Didn’t bring out my kids meal, did not bring one drink order, served my kids ice creams way after the main dessert was finished. Charged my card to the wrong bill (adjacent table). Won’t be going back.
From the luscious mango crab rolls to the panko crusted ahi rolls in wasabi butter sauce to the delectable apple tarts a la mode, every bite tasted like a morsel from heaven. Our server was fantastic, and the entire staff could not have been more wonderful. We treasure Sansei as our favorite restaurant in Honolulu.
Our waitress was a SWEETHEART - so kind, thoughtful, attentive. We are so bummed we don’t remember her name bc she deserves a shout out - she goes to college, lives and works in the area, pretty girl with long eye lashes and dark hair. She made our anniversary so lovely and I felt awful bc jet lag got the best of me and we had to leave pretty quickly toward the end. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Comida muy sabrosa y un servicio excepcional, el chico que nos atendió nos recomendó varios platos exquisitos y nos sirvieron muy rápido
Great food and sushis
We didn't wait long to have our food
