Inside of a food court!
We had a great dinner. The grilled squid was awesome, the udon really good too. In addition to great food our waitress was superbly friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Were surprised when the bill came and the tip was included in the calculation of thr whole bill. Tax, sf mandate, etc...
My go-to place. Fresh fish, reasonable prices, good quality sushi. very tasty.
Nice selection of rolls
Located in the mall, near food court, convenient for pre-movie dinner.
I meet my mother here for lunch during the week. We love their food and it is very affordable. The service is great. Try to get there before noon because it becomes very busy. Because it's in the mall, it's very loud with all the hard surfaces. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Rolls were very good and definitely a place I’d visit again. We were visiting from out of town so didn’t realize it is located in a food court area which was ok but would’ve been a bit disappointed if our party was wanting more ambiance. Quality of food and service were top notch.
I was glad I made a reservation for lunch, because the restaurant was jammed! I made an error and requested table for two but the party was actually three, and though unexpected, they handled it well and seated three of us. The sushi was surprisingly good for two people who had lived extensively in Japan. The rice was excellent and the fish was very fresh. We appreciated the service and the food.
The food was good. Our server seemed distracted.
Always surprisingly good for a location basically in a food court, great tuna!
The meal will be most memorable as one of the most difficult restaurants we've ever visited. The staff need to work out a system for splitting checks and not lie to customers about their rules.
Not for suitable team business dinner.
Ambiance, Food, Service.. a complete let down and waste of $ and time.
Service was great!
What a pleasant surprise. I was a bit worried about the mentions of "food court" restaurant in the other posted reviews. To clarify, you do enter through the food court, but this is a fully walled location, so it does not feel like a food court restaurant at all.
We found the service to be excellent. We were headed to the ballet at the YBC, and the timing/location were perfect. They restaurant uses a team based model, but unlike other places, the team seems to communicate well! Our main server was great. We asked to eat in waves of food, and she would show up just at the right times to see if there was anything else we needed. The other team members knew about our water and wine preferences, and ensured we were not faced with empty glasses. We never felt rushed, and made our ballet with no difficulty.
The food was amazing! We tried four things, which was too much food. We had the cod (delicious!!!), two sushi roles (as fresh as indicated in other reviews, and beautifully made), and the chicken (good, but would probably skip this next time).
And the prices are very reasonable for food and wine. Great place. Will absolutely go again.
Great sushi as usual-Love the Dragon Roll!
Ask for Eric - he's a fantastic and friendly waiter.
The poor service really undercuts the very good cuisine. We were rushed: the male waiter
interrupted conversations to clear plates when others were still eating. The service truly needs
to be improved with regard for its diners. We had reservations, the place was not filled and we were in and out within one hour. I would recommend this restaurant only for its convenience to SFMOMA and Yerba Buena evening performances. Otherwise I would not.
The bus boy kept coming by to grab dishes before we were done. Felt rushed and even the waiter at one point tried clearing dishes but we were not finished. Then he brought the check before asking if we wanted anything else.
I like this place. The food is pretty good, but not tying to be more than it is. Just good, better than most food at a really good price.
Fresh fish! Lots of specials! Special rolls and preparations!
Okay place in a convenient location. Don't order a starter and a main at the same time or they'll bring your main Within minutes of bringing your starter.
We shared the sesame chicken meal and a California roll. The California roll was fantastic, as it tasted very fresh! Sesame chicken is our favorite!
In a mall type food court. Satisfactory, but unremarkable sushi.
Great service and fresh sushi! Everyone is attentive.
If you're staying at the Marriott Marquis on Mission Street, this should be one of your first dining choices! Great food and atmosphere.
Nice sushi. Service was tentative but very friendly and responsive. Sushi was very expensive for this casual place, but it was very good.
It was overall decent. I guess I expected more. The squid appetizer was awesome though
Informal sushi place. Good but non remarkable food at reasonable prices.
This is a really bad Sushi restaurant in a food court
A quick lunch here between classes/meetings at the Moscone West Convention Center.
This was the second time in 2 days that I ate at this establishment.
The Curry Udon was rich and bold..... very good.
The Nigiri was fresh and the Shiitaki Roll had great taste.
Service was good and attentive. I finished in plenty of time for my next meeting.
One of the best dining options available at the Metreon.
The fish is fresh, the rolls are tasty.
I ordered the Tekka Don, a Maguro Nigiri. Hamachi Nigiri and a Shiitaki Roll. All were very good.
Service is attentive.
I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area... at the Moscone Convention Center or to see a movie playing at the Metreon.
Nice Japanese restaurant, good food, drinks and service.
Great place right before a movie. Fast friendly service. Good sushi
Surprisingly good sushi for a mall sushi joint. They had a great selection of fishes, including multiple toros (tuna, hamachi, salmon). The tuna was really good, a beautiful fresh piece of fish with a dark red color. That one had a nice little drop of mustard ontop which rounded it out. Hot food was solid too - agedashi tofu was delicious, the sauce was really rich and erupting with umame flavor. The broiled cod was melt in your mouth and rich. I'd definitely come back.
Great Japanese food at a good price. Catered for meat eaters, sea food lovers and the vegetarians in our group.
Went there with colleagues. Most, if not all sushi rolls were sauce-laden to the point where one couldn't really taste anything else and honestly couldn't tell if the fish used was even fresh (or maybe that was the point?). Staff members were inattentive/slow and a bit rude... except when it came time to pay, as they then wouldn't stop buzzing around our table once they had given us the check. Really wasn't expecting this restaurant to be located at the end of a shopping mall food court and I guess because of that, please keep your expectations LOW. Definitely not worth a 2nd visit for me.
Fresh fish. I enjoyed the sashimi. Mediocre sake. Steak teriyaki was overcooked. The waiter was not able to describe the sakes.
Reminds me of a typical "everyday" sushi restaurant in Tokyo. Very good sushi with traditional Japanese style service. Good attention to detail with the food. Very fresh wakame with that nice crunch and the miso soup green opinion were cut fresh. No frills or over the top ambiance.
The food is so-so. Not worth it. Service is okay.
It is a casual, easygoing place. We had sushi, sashimi, gyoza, agedashi tofu and hot sake. All good and I'd rate the food 8/10 (nothing wrong, just not spectacular enough to merit a 10). The ambience is fine - for a food court restaurant it is quite inviting (again, 8/10). The service was ok (7/10), again nothing bad but we had to get the attention of the staff a couple of times to be able to order. Overall, nice. This was my second time meeting friends for dinner and I'd go there again.
