Sandy's Ratings and Reviews
Great place for dinner or lunch. The service makes the difference. We had Mary Ann and she was ourstanding!! What I would not recommend is your restaurant for breakfast . You have a "VERY" limited breakfast selection!!! The main draw that brought myself , friends and clients were your "HOTCAKES" and you took them off your menu. I don't what one of your Einsteins decided on that should be fired. Put them back on your on your breakfast menu!!
We love Sandy's as locals to HB. We made a reservation for 7pm on. Saturday night in the summer. Seated us right away in the covered outdoor patio. Despite how busy they were (and always are during the summer) the service was great. Drinks were good & food was delicious. The server recommendations were right on. We ordered the green beans, flatbread, crab cake and scallops all from the appetizer selections. By far some of the best scallops I've ever head.
We took some friends from out of town to dinner. We ordered our drinks and my wife's drink didn't come after 20 minutes we were able wave down the waitress and she like oh I forgot to put the order in 10 minutes later she brings out the drink and it was horrible. We then asked to return and have it removed. So approximately a 1 after ordering our food it was served. The waitress then ask our friend if he wanted another drink and upon taking the first sip it want the drink he was drinking., so when ask the waitress what drink it was she their new signature drink and he was drinking a strawberry margarita and she was oh thought was a signature drink. So it gets better after getting our car at valet my wife said you need to step on it because her stomachs was upset and need to get home fast
I just don't understand what a great location but just a terrible menu with nothing to write home about. They could do more with the craft beer selection also the mix drinks are nothing special either. Hey but the view from the patio is excellent! If I could have my dog on the patio I would stop for a drink and appetizer more often.
The view is great, but its a place for special events where you don't need to talk to anyone more than 3 feet away. No noise damping in the glassed in porch so it was loud and we gave up trying to talk across the table. Also, the group next to the window opened it and we got blasted with gusts of cold ocean air ... so if you are sensitive to hot or cold, choose interior seating protected from the wind. The food was fair, but really greasy ... big portions but nothing you would want to take home and eat later. I would recommend Dukes (the restaurant above it) over Sandy's any day of the week. If it didn't have a view, the place would be empty.
Food above average, dining area spacious with great view of ocean and Boardwalk. Service slow, when dining with small children, for the sake of other diners, food should have been brought to table in a timely manner, waited a long time for meal and then bill to arrive.
service was very slow, food was mediocre, order was not cooked as ordered, had to ask more than once for coffee refill. Very noisy. I wanted an earlier reservation, mine was 11:30, but they said that was the earliest I could reserve for. When I arrived the place was with many, many empty tables. Around noon it filled up quickly and that is when the noise level went beyond.
We had a birthday dinner a couple of nights ago and Leah was our hostess that night. She did an awesome job, we were well taken care of and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. Last year ago we had a graduation party at this restaurant and we really enjoyed the location and the view. Thank you.
We went for a Mother's Day brunch and had great service with beach side views. The menu had some nontraditional breakfast items on it that such as breakfast pizza which was kind of fun. Would keep this in mind for another event. Large parties seemed to be welcomed.
Been here many times and not thrilled with menu but discovered a few new things this time. We were first seated next to a family with multiple kids including a screaming baby. Asked to be re-seated and were taken care of immediately. Saw another waitress walk by with chips and salsa. Not on menu but when asked about it they placed order Why wouldn't they have it on menu???? Our waitress was the best part of lunch. Carly was delightful and so accommodating.
We enjoy Sandy's when we are in Huntington Beach, the view is pretty and the food delicious. But a special note to management is that you are doing your job because the service is excellent from the front desk to wait staff to manager checking on your table.
We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation and they did their best to seat us as soon as possible. It was on a Sunday and it was very busy! Great menu with good selections....great drink menu....had the specialty Bloody Mary (very good!). Great appetizer was the Seafood Stack....fresh seafood and very flavorful. Other seafood dishes we ordered were outstanding and prepared to perfection. Service was good for being very busy and there was a large group next to us so it was very loud. Great ocean view on the patio. We'll be back again!
