Sandy's serves up California cuisine right near the shore. It provides scenic views of the beach and ocean, as well as a welcoming casual atmosphere. Sandy's lunch and dinner menu features starters such as garlic-fried green beans and the Ahi poke stack with guacamole. Patrons can feast on a main course of grilled chicken tacos with habanero salsa, flat iron steak or a Kobe beef burger with black pepper aioli. This restaurant also serves wood-fired flatbreads with tasty toppings, sandwiches and salads.
Sandy's provides outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy the weather while dining. It has a full bar that offers beer, cocktails and other beverages. This restaurant also features a happy hour and breakfast on the weekends.
Terrible service, mediocre food. Get REAL martini glasses for goodness sakes! For a restaurant on the sand on a Friday night, it should have been packes. Huge indicator of the service and dood. Sandys needs to step up their game or they will fail.
Our server, Kendall, was great and attentive despite the busy Saturday crowd.
The food was absolutely delicious! The servers were fabulous and went out of their way to get to know the name of the people in our large group. They were very accommodating to everyone. A wonderful experience for everyone, many people in our party commented on how great the entire dining experience was. We would definitely be back.
Went with a couple of friends who had never been there. Personnel was super friendly and the service was excellent. They have some interesting choices on the menu and all of us enjoyed the food. Our table on the patio was perfectly located with a lovely view of the beach and pier. We'll definitely be back.
Reservations did not really make a difference.
Waited about 10min. Hostess commented
"Oh some people came in and sat themselves!"
The food was EXCELLENT from the appetizers thru the main courses we had!! The location of the restaurant, right on the beach overlooking the ocean was really great! The only thing I would suggest is, that if the restaurant knows that the dining is for an special occasion, i.e., birthday, anniversary; something along those lines, that they put a white table cloth, some candles, and flowers on the table, ESPECIALLY if it is for a birthday and of course anniversary. It just seems like it would make the dining experience that much more pleasurable and enjoyable for the couple(s) and families.
Dinner at Sandy's was a pleasant experience. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. We found a good wine that they were serving by the glass. Our shrimp appetizer, salad sand our entrees were delicious.
We particularly like watching some college kids playing volleyball and several families out walking with their young children.
We make a point of dining at Sandy's on our yearly trip to Huntington. It is our favorite restaurant on the water.
We've been enjoying Sandy's great view, with food to match for a couple of years. On our last visit, right away we noticed the food was different. The normally delicious fish tacos were dry and the sauce had changed from a spicy green to a really spicy yellow. Waiter told us the restaurant had just been sold to Fred's and would become more like it - more televisions, (isn't the ocean enough?) more raucaus, younger crowd. Sad to hear; one more reason not to come downtown HB any more. Back to Pacific City
Great food and service. Way too loud to have a conversation of any kind.
Enjoyed a great lunch for grandparents day! Service was excellent and our server had a great personality. Food was good as you would expect being a dukes property.
We recently celebrated our anniversary on the patio and the staff went above and beyond. Sandy's is where we had our first date, so going back for our anniversary just made sense. :-) They included a card and dessert which made it even more special. Thanks!
The quality of the food was not what expected as this is a sister of Duke's. Location is great. Service is good.
Have pretty tasty food but service is slow
Our waiter Mathew was awesome!
We were a party of 17 and he was gracious enough to give us individual bills
Loved that we were seated in the patio felt like we had our own private party
Thank you for your hospitality our first time in HB loved it!
Great place for a Sunday lunch. The location is great for people watching and the food never disappoints. I had the fish tacos and they were the perfect blend of fresh and spicy. There was a small side of salsa on the dish that was a magical blend of avocado and jalapeno which made my tacos sing! My husband ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich, and was pleasantly surprised by Sandy's interpretation which included smoked bacon, a balsamic aioli to die for on flat bread. All in all a delicious meal in a beautiful location. Next time we will order brunch!
Fantastic dinner! Entertained a friend who just moved here from TX. We were seated on the patio and had the wonderful view. Service was fantastic and sorry I can't remember his name. Outstanding! We had the filet and ahi tuna which were delicious and flavorful. My friend had the shrimp pasta, which he devoured. Will definitely return. Only negative was that there was a private party on one end and children were allowed to run around the restaurant by inattentive parents. Take your kids to Ruby's or get a sitter. Geez! Paying for the ambience, food and view without your children present. Just sayin'. Overall, great job Sandy's! Thanks for a fine evening out.
I love going to Sandy's - it's located right on the beach, it has a great happy hour and everyone that works there ( Doug, Tyler, Desiree, Kyle) all are so friendly - it's one of my favorite places to go!!
Unfortunately our service was very slow. We got our cocktails and then we were forgotten about. We asked finally if bread was served with the meal as we were starving. The waitress said she would put in an order but still no bread. We had to ask a second time and finally got it.
We are a group of non complainers but this was really beyond slow. After telling our waitress that I was really disappointed in the service our meals came. She knew her service should have been better so a complimentary dessert was served for us all to share. Bottom line we just wanted good service because your restaurant is very nice. I have been there before and service was far better so I had no hesitation to make this reservation. There were empty tables as other people had been served and finished and they arrived after us.
The food was awesome but very slow getting each course
Sandy's is right on the beach so there is a good view of beach activities and sunset through the Huntington Beach Pier. Food was good. The scallop appetizer was good. The flat Iron Steak with Chimichuri Sauce was a little disappointing. The sauce was good, but overpowered the taste of the steak. The kale salad was very good.
Waiter realized he messed up and then she brought the food literally threw it on the table and spilled! Shocked and then later chilled out. Not like the Sandy service I know. Sorry Sandy!
Waitress was useless but Management made up for her lack of ability.
Sandy's is always a great "go to" place right on the boardwalk in Huntington Beach. It's much more quiet than Duke's above, which is perfect for romantic date's. Food is outstanding, reasonably priced and very quick from the kitchen. The valet out front is only $7.00 with a receipt from Sandy's, which is the way to go during the busy summer season! Bar is experienced with all the favorite's available. Always a great experience here
Simply awesome evening. Made reservation and asked for a table with a great view. Informed them we were celebrating a 50th birthday. They had a Birthday Card and PERFECT table waiting for us. The ceviche appetizer was fresh and delicious. My wife had the Filet and I had the
Sea Bass. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and the Sea Bass had a pecan crust that perfectly complimented the dish. The dessert they brought out was their SIGNATURE S'MORE
chocolate graham cracker brownie, chocolate ice cream, marshmallow fluff pile of awesomeness. This was a perfect ending to great dinner. Thank You so much to the Sandy's staff for a great evening!
Had an enjoyable birthday lunch for my husband. Great view. Enjoyed their cocktails - Mules and Palomas. The seafood cocktail was great. Kyle was our server and did a great job.
always great food and service at sandys ask for a table on the patio
Great restaurant and wonderful staff! Every item we ordered was amazing.
Love going to Sandy's. Always happy with the food and fun to be sitting so close to the Sand on the Beach
The food was amazing, the service ( our server was Jamie) was great! We had a blast, she was attentive and did a great job! We are from out of town, but we will make a point to visit Sandy's every visit!
Great location on the beach, right by the pier. Great food!!
I brought my family here to celebrate the end of summer. Brooklyn was our server and she was amazing! She had spot on wine recommendations, she took great care of my kids, and was very attentive as each course of the meal progressed. The food was great too. I'd eat the ceviche every day of the week if I could.
Great lunch spot! I highly recommend Sandy's for its ambience, service and views.
Maryann always takes great care of us.
The kitchen is very responsive to food allergy diets.
Our waiter was just attentive enough, left us alone when we wanted. Food was pretty tasty, I had the Kobe burger. My preference would be for a softer bun. The beach view was great. Definitely worth a visit sometime soon.
We were seated about 20 min later than our reservation. However our waitress was fast and friendly and was the best part of the whole experience. The food was good but nothing special. Right on the boardwalk.
AMAZING FOOD. The best dinner I've ever had. I would highly reccomend this place. Very pricy but definitely worth it.
Great view of HB pier and any events Like volleyball, Surf Pro, etc. Nice bar facing the beach also.
We went to Sandy's for my dad's 80th birthday. They were able to accommodate 9 of us and our table was great. The server was attentive and helpful, which is hard with a big party. It's a great location right by the beach. Everyone liked their food except the fussiest foodies at our table who had some small gripes like the thickness of the cut of the fish. There was a good range of options for 80-year-old dad (meatball pizza!) to younger foodies. The server brought a birthday dessert which was nice, but I would have suggested pulling one of us aside to set it up in some special way rather than bringing it to table unlit, lighting it in place and saying "this is our birthday dessert." It was totally fine though and nice enough for Dad. My only small quibble is that it's VERY loud. Dad had a hard time hearing or talking to anyone so we were a little isolated in small conversations. But we got to step out to the beach and get some nice photos, and I really liked my food a lot. I'd go back there any time. It seemed like there were quite a few bigger groups there so I'd recommend it for a group outing or a regular dinner.
Very noisy. Preparing for surf event so trucks covered the view - disappointing.
If you want variety, this is not the place.
