with predicable food and canned music to match. Should have a bit of local charm and ingredients. Could have been any hilton in any town except for the view.

What a nice and welcome surprise. We booked at the last minute and had the best service and food. The serving team was friendly, professional and took extra care to make sure our night was perfect. There was a good variety of appetizers, salads and main courses. The portions were very generous. The recommendations for dessert were fantastic. A special thanks to Kayla.

This restaurant is located in a resort next to the Sea.
All members of the staff were prompt, courteous and very pleasant.
The food was very good in presentation, taste and of very good quality.
I had the Rib Eye and it was huge!!! Cooked to absolute perfection, very tender and very flavorful. The honored guest has the Scallops and she loved them.
For desert, I recommend the Cobbler. It was perfect.
This was our very first visit to Sanderlings but we plan on returning soon.

We were so disappointed with our experience at Sanderlings. We were celebrating a special occasion and the reservations were made weeks in advance. The hostess first seated us against a wall at a tiny table where one of the chairs was in the aisle way. We asked to be moved to one of the many available tables on the patio so that we could enjoy the view. The hostess said that was not possible as the patio was full. Clearly it was not, and we asked to just be moved at least to a better table. This was done begrudgingly.

As we sat on the "Denny's" side of the restaurant (no ambiance and very utilitarian) we saw others being seated at tables outside. When a manager ventured by later, she said she was surprised that they would not seat us there, and later returned and tried to comp us drinks to make up for the poor treatment (she was nice, but the damage was done).

The appetizer we ordered (Ahi) was not flavorful and we did not finish it. They ran out of the entrée selections we wanted (it was only 730pm) and the entrées we eventually ordered were unremarkable.

I would never return to this restaurant.

We live in Seascape and have dined at Sanderlings many times. The food quality has been hit and miss. It is definitely on an upswing with many creative additions to the menu while preserving old favorites. We dined there with old friends from the Bay Area. Stephanie our server was excellent, the food was very good. Patio seating is available and offer nice view of Monterey Bay. We chose a window inside table at sunset. Very nice.

Sanderling offers both indoor & patio dining with beautiful ocean views. Food is fresh and well prepared. Nice choice on menu with 2 specials nightly.
FIsh is done perfectly with interesting sides. Pasta dishes & steaks also very good.
Bar is nice size with access to patio.
A resort type feel that is nice even if you are local!

I went to Sanderlings for my birthday dinner last night. We sat at a great table with a view of the ocean and sunset. The bus staff was wonderful with bringing over water and fresh warm bread and butter. Our waiter was awesome. He was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding. I had the special New York Steak with the potato croquette and fresh vegetables. My mother had the seared salmon with potatoes and vegetables. Our waiter brought out a nice serving of creme brulee with a lit birthday candle in it. It was a very special birthday dinner. Sanderlings NEVER disappoints.

My in-laws live across the street so we love to come here because it is a quick walk, service is usually pretty good, has a great view, etc. I am very happy to see that they are slowly but surely increasing the number of organic options they have, using free-range chicken, etc. Please keep it up!

We have eaten here many times and never have always had great food and service. Was wishing for a nice colorful sky, but the hazy gray sky was not Sanderling's fault! My husband had the sea bass special and I had the ravioli. Both were excellent. Our server Stephani was attentive and very friendly. I even got a free yummy dessert for my birthday! Wonderful food, service and view.

My inlaws live across the street from Seascape, so this is a nice place to take them to dinner. We were pleased to see the organic chicken on the menu and would love to see your organic offerings expanded as we eat exclusively organic, non-GMO, non-processed, etc. food.
Service was good, everyone enjoyed their meals and were were happy!

I made reservations for a late lunch at Sanderlings to celebrate my daughter's college graduation with family. Although the restaurant was not crowded, the service was very slow. We waited a long time for our order to be taken and for our drinks to be served. My husband had to get up from the table twice to inquire about when our waitress would attend to us. The food was good, but not anything special. There are nice views of the ocean from the dining room and patio. If you were staying at the resort, it would be an acceptable place to get some food, but not a destination in and of itself. I won't be returning.

What a great find! My friend lives in the nearby town of Soquel so I was thrilled when I spotted this restaurant was on my Passport Dining card! The service was excellent and the roasted chicken was outstanding!!! And, I can't say enough about the view - wonderful view of the ocean!! I had a drink at the bar while waiting for my friend to arrive and the bartenders were very cordial and friendly! Everyone I encountered was soooooo nice, helpful, welcoming and friendly - from the moment I walked in the lobby of the hotel asking if I was in the right place for the restaurant to my departure - excellent staff/employees!

Spent a while trying to find a great place in the Santa Cruz area to take my girlfriend for her birthday and this place was perfect.

The ambiance is excellent, every table has an ocean view and its the kind of setting where you can show up in jeans or dressed to th nines. The staff was knowledgable and friendly, our server especially so.

I typically dont expect much as far as food goes when it comes to resort restaurants but my expectations were well beyond exceeded. Grilled artichokes were a tasty start and went well with our bottle of wine. The steak was one of the best I've tasted in a long time and the scampi was delicious. Top it all of with a killer crème brulee and it makes a meal neither of us will forget.

Only thing I could slightly complain about was the pacing of the food was a little fast but it really wasn't an issue.

This place is well worth the price and I highly recommend it.

My daughter and I went here for Mother's Day dinner. It was relaxed and very enjoyable. My rib-eye steak and her shrimp/pasta were perfect as was the Caesar salad. The wait-staff were fabulous and were at our command in a polite, unobtrusive way. It was far less frenetic than most of the other go-to special occasion restaurants in the county. We enjoyed that the food was local and sustainably-sourced. Will go again for sure.

I took my wife to Sanderlings for Mother's Day brunch. The location and view are world-class. We chose an outdoor table and we took full advantage of a sunny Sunday. Table service was attentive and friendly. All good. Here were our concerns: Check in was "clunky." (We had reserved through Open Table.) The first receptionist greeted us... confirmed our reservation... and then disappeared. After quite a bit of standing around, we approached receptionist number two and she apologized and quickly seated us. The range of food items on the brunch tables were good... quality of food a little less so. My wife and I agreed on a "7" out of "10." Our final concern was this: We had one of the later seatings for this brunch. About halfway through our meal, staff was beginning to clear the buffet tables. We felt rushed. Not a good feeling given the venue and the price.

We went during Mother's Day Brunch so my rating is based on that. It was packed and the line was long. The food was buffet style so it had been sitting out for a while. The food was dry. The servers were overwhelmed by the crowd so service was not good at all. The hotel booked too many reservations for the brunch causing a landslide in service and available tables. Not enough servers and bus personnel to keep up with the demands

The scenic view and overall setting are excellent. The Sunday Brunch was varied with lots of tasty food. We had a reservation for 11:45 am but did not get seated until about 12:15. We were told that the restaurant did not have enough bus service to keep up on a very busy day. I would think that with most people making a reservation, that they could have planned on the peak times and added enough staff to keep things moving. The restaurant threatened to charge $20/person if we did not make the reservation; so we planned carefully to be on time. It's too bad they did not plan to take care of people who were on time with reservations.
And, once we did get seated, we had to go find a waitress to get even a glass of water. It was not until we had finished that she offered the "complimentary" mimosas.

Tucked away in a cute little resort - stumbled on this place by chance and what a delightful surprise!! The views at sunset are amazing and the food/drink were outstanding!
1. Calamari is AMAZING - tender and breaded like mozzarella sticks - just delicious!
2. Pear salad is a must!
3. Filet - need I say more?
4. Mud pie was a perfect balance between the coffee ice cream and the Oreo cookie crust!

While visiting seascape, they were having a difficult time with the power going out. It kept goin out and coming back.
Me and my girlfriend had dinner after our Bon fire date (which was awesome) the service was horrible. Took 15 min for the server to come back after bringing us water. After ordering our food and a bottle of wine another 15 minutes passed before our wine came out. At this point out appetizer was finished. We sat outside and had to use out iphone flashlight to read the menu. The food came and it was great. Once finished with our food the server was fast to be over to take our plates and rushing us to leave. Meanwhile we had a half a bottle of wine still to drink. So after continuously being asked if we needed anything, we promptly finished the bottle and left cash so we didn't have to wait on him bringing our card back. Maybe it was jus an off day but I was unimpressed with the quality of service at such a nice resort.

Sanderlings has a beautiful setting by the ocean. The menu is very good and I think
we could have ordered something else, like a salad, and enjoyed it. We ordered
the omelette. The veggies were saturated with oil and not tasty. I ordered the
omelette without cheese and it came with cheese. I had waited for 30 minutes
for my meal to come so I ate it, even though I do not like cheese on my omeltte.
Often when we were needing coffee we had to wait before the waitress came to help us.
I would probably not go back. The waitress gave us our coffee for free to compensate
which was nice.

The view was no doubt the seller on this dinner. Food is so-so, much flavored with butter. When asked if we wanted bread on the table, I was surprised to be handed a less than Palm sized piece on my plate. The waitress checked on us occasionally which was good compared to the hostess who welcomed us when we came. For whatever reason there always was more than two people at the front. I'd say that it expedited the service but not really.

Never going there again. Saturday morning Valentines Day, very few people but was sat RIGHT next to the only other table there. Very poor customer service, took 15 min to just get water. Another table was sat after us and got their food before us. Beautiful views but that's about all this place has going for it.

The Seascape Resort has beautiful views of the ocean. The ambiance is fantastic. I've been to this restaurant many times and repeatedly had a poor experience with service. The service is slow, many of the staff have poor attitudes and are definitely not customer focused. Go for the view and location with an understanding that you may experience service issues.

We live in the neighborhood and have been to Sanderlings with our dog for cocktails, the ocean view and sunsets.

Decided to have an early, romantic dinner there Wednesday evening right around sunset and had a wonderful time. The food exceeded expectations, the Flowers Pinot was superb and the service was exceptional.

We enjoyed it so much we went there the next day with our dog Mia for lunch.

some of the best Cioppino I have had in a long time. lots of crab and big chunks of salmon in a tasty broth. Don't miss the creme Brulee. as this is a restaruant in a Resort Hotel, we were expecting good food, but thought it would be standard fare. This was far above standard.
