We chose outdoor seating and the servers were very safety conscious. Lobster ravioli was amazing as was the chocolate ganache with mousse for dessert. We had a romantic and beautiful dinner with ocean views.
Fun and beautiful setting
A very nice place with the ocean breeze and view, but not the same in service or food. RSVP for a special occasion; hostess did not ask or made the reference to our waiter. Tables are not six apart if you sit in one of the tables by the public walk/driveway. Food is just decent, nothing extraordinary. There was a temperature machine setup at the entrance, but no one was there to monitor.
Beautiful view of the ocean from the Seascape patio dining area. Wait staff attentive and helpful. Food was excellent and well presented. Our favorite place to go to for a special treat as we live in San Jose. Feels like we are on a vacation!
We enjoyed the chicken tostada and it was excellent. The portion was large enough to take home and enjoy that evening. Our server was really on the ball and helped make our visit delightful.
Nice and easy. Good location.
The atmosphere was very lack luster, just a simple older hotel dining room. The food was not worth the price. You could tell it was not fresh when we got it, it was not even warm and seemed like it has been sitting under heat lamps. The service was not great, he was very attentive at all and he didn’t even apologize.e when a fight broke out between other patrons during our meal. The one good thing I can say is the bread pudding was good.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Reservation at 5:30pm- third party to be seated in PATIO. Did not get food after TWO HOURS - Apparently our order was "LOST" even though server kept saying our order was next. Tried to talk to Manager- they sent the bartender who had no knowledge or authority. Finally manager came said he did not know what was happening but would find out! Part of our party had to leave because the baby was getting cold and hungry. Finally we all left disgusted without being served. Gave us our order as a take out but when we got to our room, it was missing an order so one person had no food! Poor quality food, small portions , high prices, fish and chips burnt, hamburger TINY for the price, and never received the short ribs so cannot comment. People were being seated INSIDE although it was Patio dining ONLY!! It was cold outside and we would have preferred indoor dining. Sanderlings had no idea what they were doing and was ill prepared to serve its guests. The only restaurant on the resort property, so not much choice----- BEWARE and bring your own food if possible. Don't count on a nice meal at Sanderlings.
We came to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary (we got married at Seascape in 2018) and obviously weren't expecting much, but not even an acknowledgment (I noted it on the reservation) or above average service to potentially reserve a nicer table for us, or even to comp a dessert or drink? Just felt like any other dinner and the service was not authentic or "special" - even the acknowledgment would of been nice. The difference from our 1st year anniversary to our 2nd year was VERY drastic.
Just isn't the same with everything going on with COVID + with Jeff no longer at Seascape, the overall service has gone down.
They billed my card twice and even though I showed the online record of duplicates they didn’t credit me right away and I will have to go back to fix it.
despite the cool breezy weather we had a very nice lunch experience. The only disappointing food item was the calamari...breading too heavy and soggy.
Service was wonderful and safety was very good.
Our waiter Jorge was attentive and professional. Our food was excellent. The view and atmosphere was about the best you can get in the county.
Fine dining food and service with a relaxed causal feel near the ocean can't be beat. A must do bucket list destination. Highly recommended
Great place to eat - nice waitstaff, very organized. I felt safe here (COVID) in the fresh air patio with a view of the beach!
Excellent service and quality food.
The view is spectacular.
The view is spectacular- the food and service could be improved.
One of the best places to eat , enjoy the views and great company .. we had a leisurely lunch (4hrs)visiting , enjoying a bottle of champagne, and I had the company of a beautiful woman .. the staff was friendly and never rushed us out .. of course, I tipped generously.. one of our favorite places to unwind and Catch up .. we Split the special Fish and smoked salmonB LT !!! They were fantastic .. always be back !!
Great Ocean view - the food could use improvement.
Table was ready when we arrived a bit early. Patio was lovely, waited a bit for our drinks, but all in all, a very nice meal!
The location is lovely. The food was good but not worth the cost.
We love the view and the chance to gather comfortably and safely outside with my 96 year old mom! Your staff was delightful! Everyone was accommodating and lovely.
We were staying at Seascape Resort and visited Sanderlings on our first night.
Overall, the food was meh. I ordered two starters and requested one to be my entree, but the entree starter showed up first.
Scallops were overly salty, though the corn salad was perfectly seasoned and provided a nice crunch and sweetness.
Tuna is the Poke was pretty tasteless. Wonton chips were crunchy though.
One of the kids got the kids pasta with marinara sauce and it was okay, pasta was fine but the sauce was really watery.
One of the kids got burger + fries. The fries were soggy and not crispy.
On the plus side, we had two cranky kids and the servers were all super accommodating. One server offered to bring out crayons and paper so the kids can draw while we waited for food.
The dining space was entirely outdoors and tables were well-spaced. We felt very safe dining at the restaurant.
Service was terrible as restaurant was severely understaffed. Two wait staff for more than 20 tables. We saw our waitress twice: once when she took our order and then when she brought our drinks after our food had been delivered. We wanted to order more drinks and dessert but no one every came to take our order. Eventually we left assuming, as we were staying at the hotel, they would add the restaurant bill to the hotel bill. On check out, the restaurant bill wasn't on the hotel bill and there was no one at the restaurant to address the issue. Who knows when I will get charged. Poor management is leaving money on the table.
We ordered clam chowder, lettuces salad and the lobster ravioli. The soup and salad were very good but the ravioli was not. Carrots in a red sauce? Lumps of lobster and shrimp floating around. My husband didn't even finish his dish. Plus, we were sat on the lawn, in the evening with no heater.....
Nice experience; enjoyable atmosphere and accommodating staff
The place is great but the food is below average. It is a great place if you want a nice view or access to the beach. Pre-Covid, They used to have weekend open buffet branches and that was great.
My meal was superb! Had the tomato salad to start and the filet mignon as the entree’. Memorable dining experience. Just excellent & the view was spectacular.
It was ok. Calamari was very good and fresh, Salmon dinner was weak. Small spice of salmon on a bed of summer vegetables - all end cuts. They sat us on the end of the patio with tons of loud foot traffic, next to a overflowing trash can. Would never go back.
Nice venue. Ordinary food. Expensive
Also a little uptight
Best BLT I have ever had! The smoked salmon was an amazing addition. The service is friendly and on point. Everyone was kind to my friends dog that really made it special.
Great service, views, ambiance. We enjoyed our time there.
First time out with a group since Covid....it was great. All the wait persons were very "on it" at all times. We especially enjoyed Tammy. Thank you
Well spaced and consistent social distance protocols. Gorgeous views and lovely fresh air and breeze.
The ambiance was great, food was good but the service was NOT!
Table next to us left while we were still dining, and the way it was wiped guaranteed transmission of any COVID to the next group! It was wiped in like 2 seconds with a simple cloth, no sanitizing or anything!
The waiters were wearing masks but were definitely not practicing social distancing. Our stay at the hotel was good because we distanced ourselves well, but that dinner totally ruined it!
We had a reservation at 7.30pm and we had to wait until 8.15pm to get seated. Food was not worth the wait.
Saul our waiter did an amazing job! The service and the view was the highlight of my dining experience. I will definitely come back
Sanderlings has done a great job of adapting to the current pandemic. We ate outdoors and were seated well away from other guests. The food was delicious and the service (by waiters wearing gloves and masks) was great. Thank you!
Service was excellent, everyone was taking extreme precautions with COVID. The location was beautiful. The food was okay. I was expecting better for the price and past reviews.
