They had 2 waiters for many tables. Waited along time for our food. The food was not worth the price. We will not be going back.
Excellent Food, View and Service - always a favorite.
We have been going there for over 20 years, but may never go back again. On Easter Sunday, a hostess seated us at a table in the shade. I asked that we move to a table in the sun since it was chilly outside. She told us she would check and let us know. Not only did she never come back, but when I went inside to find her she refused to allow us to move, despite several other 4 top tables still being available in the sun. She claimed they were for "other" guests. When I asked if they had reserved a specific table or if they were even there yet, she said no. Five minutes later, four people were seated at one of the tables in the sun. An hour later, that table had finished their meal and left, while we still had not even received our meals. Once we did receive our meals, my husband's rib eye was like shoe leather and he had to send it back. Meanwhile, the other four top tables in the sun still remained unoccupied and were still empty when we left. Extremely poor business practices!!
Views can't be beat! A beautiful setting and good service. Juevos Rancheros on the breakfast menu not what we expected. Could use improvement.
Great service, delicious food, greatly improved menu. We ate outside with a heater on a cool day and were perfectly comfortable. Amazing view of the mighty Pacific Ocean.
After we were seated we received glasses of water and silverware but had to wait 20 minutes before anyone greeted us.
Nice visit. Good food. Sun and fresh air so welcomed. Service engaged and attentive. The non-alcoholic beer not available. Birthday dessert not offered “during the pandemic”? A bit disappointing on that note for a birthday meal, but overall well worth it.
Chef in the kitchen knows what to do, service with a smile, view breathtaking!

The place is very pretty being on the coast. The food was definitely not outstanding because it was expensive for what you get and cold. The waiter was great, funny and attentive.
We enjoyed our visit to Sanderlings and will come again. Thank you.
The view alone is worth the visit, even if they fell short otherwise- which they did not. The staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient, all of our meals were excellent, and of course watching the sun set over the Pacific is the icing on the cake!
Seafood melt and linguine with seafood were both very tasty. Wine and beer selection were very good.
The service was a bit slow that night but otherwise good.
We enjoyed everything. We had a very nice stay. The view, the food and the ambiance.
The location and convenience of eating at the resort is fantastic! However, the service and the wait time to get our meal was horrible. There was no communication or apology for how long we had to wait to get our meal. The woman at the table next to us was irate with their service and the food quality. She actually sent her meal back. Not sure if our waiter was new or just has absolutely no clue on how to service a table in a nice restaurant.
It was a nice quiet escape for us. We will definitely return soon.
The beautiful view, ample (safe) outdoor seating, good food with generous portions, make Sanderlings an excellent choice. We had the added bonus of having Alex H as our server, who offered exceptional, and personable service!

We split a ribeye. It was $54!!! 10oz but a lot of fat and not much flavor. They did cook it perfectly. Sides were good. They were overwhelmed it seemed as the county just opened up to a new level and more folks are vaccinated. So service was well-meaning and apologetic but SLOW.
After this past year and not dinning out a lot is was nice to see Sanderlings has kept their food and service at a high level. Made for a nice evening eating a great dinner over looking the ocean. Thanks
I know that we are trying to figure out the new normal for the pandemic outdoor dining, however we had eight people with two heaters. The bus boy decided that we weren't worthy and took one of the heaters to give to a table of six. When I mentioned it to the waiter he shrugged his shoulders. We spent a lot of money to be treated like crap. BTW the table of six quickly became two people with tree heaters. Wrong just wrong.
The location is beautiful. Outside dining has a gorgeous view of the ocean. Service was good. My biggest complaint? I ordered a roasted beet salad that was supposed to come with butter lettuce. 1-there was no butter lettuce, but mixed field greens. 2- there were no roasted beets on the salad. I added grilled shrimp (which was super tender). When I asked about the roasted beets the server kindly brought a side of beets but they were not roasted. Had the chocolate mousse for dessert which was lovely.
I have never given such a poor review EVER. I do understand they had just reopened indoor dining however.....The hostess was extremely positive and helpful that I will give an excellent. Wait staff, bartender were horrible! Food was cold, Irish Coffee cold then reheated in microwave with sticky stuff all over the glass and no fresh whip cream. Food was cold and the restaurant you had to have a heavy jacket on. The amazing part NO one cared working there. I am just so terribly sorry about it all. Please note the tip was extremely generous because what our service workers have gone through this past year. But I will never return or recommend.
We always come to Sanderlings when we stay here. Great food and Indoor dining is open.
Food, service and views were spectacular. See we’re we’re very attentive and go out of their way to make you few comfortable. Can’t wait to be back.

What an incredible resort but the dinner, food, service, ambiance was so poor it was sort of a shock to be that let down at a beautiful hotel.
$54 steak- served w boiled potatoes was crap
3 kids all had hamburgers served COLD w cold fries. Buns had circular charred burn marks in center
Service was so mediocre they couldn’t have cared. Had to look for the waitress to get the check. Was my husbands bday and we e been home for a straight year since were both unemployed due to the Covid and we were splurging on this night. It really sucked! Should have listened to our friends who told us to go to the Mexican place across the street. $186 + $40 tip down the drain

Delicious food with average service. Baby Greens salad dressing needed lemon or vinegar...very bland dressing. Salmon was delicious..server couldn’t help me to use Open Table dining reward..

Went for anniversary lunch. Covid era, sat outside on patio overlooking lawn and ocean, BEAUTIFUL setting, impeccably clean. We enjoyed our lunch as we had extra time before heading home that afternoon. The servers were reasonably attentive and very polite. My only criticism would be a very limited lunch menu selection (not even a single chicken item on the menu) and the kitchen was extremely slow in getting our meal to us. It was 50 minutes from the time we ordered to when our food arrived (two customers, a burger and the seafood sandwich). We had 1pm reservations and were seated right away, but the restaurant was not very busy and I wonder why it took so long. The resort is VERY large (although I heard it was at 25% capacity) and this is Covid time, so maybe they were slammed with pick-up or room service orders. Our meals did arrive hot on the table. The food was good, but not great. After lunch we enjoyed a walk along the trail down to the beach and up to the top overlooking the ocean and beach.
Knowing what I know now, I would go back again as the service was good and the setting was VERY enjoyable with that view, but I would allow for a lot of time and wouldn't expect an outstanding meal.
Very good food and we had a nice time. They kept trying to give out outdoor heating lamp to another table though (we requested 2 bc we had a large party). Waiter seemed a little in a hurry and didn’t give much advice but ok I guess.
