A nice restaurant in the village. Late lunch, starting with the Pei mussel.. quiet spicy but good. Then since I love duck I choose the Duck Two Ways (breast and confit) the confit was outstanding crispy outside and tender inside. The breast however was supposed to be medium rare (asked and confirmed ... that why I choose that entree) and unfortunately was not..... so too cooked that I could only eat half of it which is a pity when paying that price. I'm sure if cooked properly it would have been a so good. I should have send it back. The Seared Diver Scallops were very good and the side couscous with apricot a delight.

It pains me to write this review, as Sandbar has been our go-to for many special occasions. But half our meal this past Monday night was hugely disappointing. My guest ordered the salmon, which was outstanding. I ordered the hanger steak, which was the hugely disappointing part. I'm not sure if it was the way the steak was cut, or just a bad piece of meat, but there was a large vein of gristle throughout each piece, making it nearly impossible to cut. There were also 2 end pieces that were absolutely impossible to cut. The chef never should have plated that steak. Regarding the service, (which has always been excellent in the past), we were at the table approximately 5 minutes before we were asked about drinks. We ordered them and asked if we could put in an order of apps (as we were very hungry) at the same time. The server told us "no, I will take your order for apps when I take your food order." Ok, we figured, odd, but ok because bread should be here soon. Nope, the drinks came and we sat for another 10 minutes before bread came. Then another 10 minutes or so passed before he came back to take our order. We will probably try again because it's a beautiful restaurant, and they might have been having a bad night, but this visit was hugely disappointing, both in food and service.

Birthday celebration beginning with a shared chick pea fries which were creamy and delicious. We requested a window table and was seated at one in front. I ordered the fish and chips with great thick fries but no vinegar taste as described. The fish was soggy and breading very thick. I decided to remove the breading and the fish was sparse. My partner ordered the short rib pasta which was okay. We shared the key lime pie with meringue which was a small tart with no meringue but a citrus granite. It was okay. The coffee was great. I could not leave my seat without the next door table diner getting up and it felt as though I was so close that I was sharing their conversation and I’m sure they could hear mine. They were seated after we were. Not a comfortable situation as there were plenty of open tables. Water and beer was not replenished in glass from bottle. Birthday was not acknowledged. I inquired and the server blamed the hostess for not telling him. I wanted my partner to feel special at dinner but this restaurant was not to be the place. An after dinner drink or a take away donut could have been offered or something! Instead they secured a no repeat visit.

Really think this place is over-rated. The host a tall young man, comes around to ask how everything was but never introduced himself so I brushed him off. The salads were unremarkable, just some greens with a lump of goat cheese on the side. Would be easy and tasteful to add some strawberries or cranberries, something for gosh sake! For the price I would say the salad is a ripoff. I had the Fish and Chips which the menu says comes with a petite salad - really just some plain endive. I asked for cole slaw but they don't have. The steak fries are so outdated - don't see them much anymore. the Lobster roll was probably the standout. The soups were just okay. Ordered 3 cocktails and one needed to be sent back. Strange that some chairs along the walls look so comfy but the tables in the middle where we were seated were hard and uncomfortable - a better table next to the wall was unattended the entire time we were there. Waitress was pleasant.

We visited Sandbar 4 or 5 times in 7 weeks, immediately becoming comfortable and feeling like "regulars" in this cozy Cold Spring Harbor restaurant. Every dish we have ordered has been delicious, beautifully presented, and professionally served. Portions are plentiful, drinks are generous, with Cosmos served with an ice bucket for the mini-carafe filled with the overage of the mix. Pricing is more than reasonable. Sandbar is a keeper for us!

The excellent food and service is the reason to go -but I was there to meet a friend I had not seen in over a year to celebrate her new job . We were not rushed , we had a quiet table by the window - the food and drink was wonderful and the staff were happy for us! We will back ! Possibly my new special occasion location !!

Food was delicious, service was great, and value was amazing. First we had drinks at the bar, and Kristen was our bartender. Then into the dining area where Rayanne was our server. She was patient, friendly, and very accommodating. A wonderful dining experience.

I’m surprised Sandbar is known for their seafood. Crab cakes- not large chunks, breadcrumb’d and fried. Average Tuna tartare- dry and under seasoned Halibut- very dry, completely unseasoned. The corn and favs beans were tasty.

One of the best restaurants on Long Island. They change the menu appropriately 4 x per year so you always have great choices. The wine list is outstanding many good value high end wines. Dan the bartender is one of the best and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The restaurants interior is lovely, beachy colors, and nicely appointed. We shared a bowl of PEI mussels in a spicy coconut broth, which was so tasty! A bit of a kick, but not overpowering, and given bread for dipping, which we could've done again and again! We shared a Sandbar Salad, with a wonderful light dressing, and goat cheese on the side Delicious!! We decided to split an order of fish taco's, which our thoughtful waiter Marcos told us came with 3, but could add 1 more to the order, so we'd each get two. We did, and we were glad we did, as we would've fought over that 3rd one. They were done right! Flavorful, crispy but light fish, and a slaw that was filled with flavor and a little bit of a kick. We loved them!! Oh, I forgot to say our cocktails were perfectly made, as well!! Twice! I would highly recommend Sandbar, and will without a doubt be coming back again. We LOVED it, from service, to decor, to food. Excellent!!

Have been here before and enjoyed. This time, not as much. Had the crab cake which had way to many (and too large) pieces of green and red peppers. Halibut portion was small. Cheese on lobster pasta?? Just a few things that made us think twice.

Was our first time at Sandbar and we will definitely be back. First, the waitstaff were exceptional. Juan and the other two waitstaff were great. Martini’s were very good and served with iced buckets and mini carafes to keep chilled. Definitely a nice touch. The food was very good. We had oysters and duck tacos for starters. Cacio e Pepe as a second course, which we shared and our entrees were Fish and Chips and a scallop with apricot glaze and couscous. All were excellent. Atmosphere very pretty. All in all a wonderful night. Very attentive service throughout with the manager, Jim coming by to ask if everything was to our liking.

Great ambience and service but food was mediocre. Crab cakes, sandbar salad, and bread &butter were very good, but the sliders (a special) were bone dry and the cacio e pepe was over cooked and dripping in grease. Service was very good. I’d consider going back once more to try a couple other dishes because I think it has potential, but we were overall a little let down with the food.
