Sand Point Grill Ratings and Reviews
As opposed to many restaurants with hard surfaces everywhere, this one although busy is not loud. The food is quite exceptional too. While our group does not live in the neighborhood, we noticed there were many folks there from the area around the restaurant. Nice comfortable place with a small but interesting wine list.
Our group of three enjoyed dinner on a Monday. We were well attended to by waitstaff. The menu didn't have an overwhelming selection, but it had a nice variety and each dish had something that set it above the ordinary. For example, my pork chop (very well prepared) was served with plaintain gnocchi. We've visited Sand Point Grill several times over the last fifteen years, and we've always been happy with the food and the service.
This is our go-to place in the north end of Seattle. It has a great neighborhood feel and an excellent menu. Our favorites include the caesar salad with white anchovies, the fried chicken, the cioppino and the reuben sandwich. Excellent bar and Happy Hour as well. They always feature a great French wine from University Wine which is in the same complex. We're here almost once a month and we never get tired of it.
This place has a lovely cozy homey feel to it. The noise level is by no means loud, but a comfortable sort of background burble. The food is perfect! Like a meal your mother would make, but cooked by a top notch chef, who knows how to creatively combine interesting flavors together in new and exciting ways. Both the steak and salmon we ordered were cooked perfectly, nice and moist! (Hard to do with salmon!). Finished off with a beautifully made RHUBARB pie! (None of that strawberry nonsense, except in the caramel sauce!!). A lovely off the beaten path gem! Apparently the happy hour is great too!
This was my first visit to Sand Point Grill, though our friends had been there several times. This is a very comfortable place that allows an easy, hear-able conversation with friends. The food is creative and excellent. Most of those at our table had the fixed-price meal which was reasonably priced with delicious selections. Vegetarians, as well as meat and fish eaters, will have good options from the fixed and open menus. The wine list also had a good range of choices with lots of bottles around $30. Service was attentive but not hovering. Overall, I was very impressed and already have made my next reservation for Sand Point Grill. It is a pleasure to find a place where we can have a conversation with friends without having to yell and still have wine and food that are delicious but not outrageously priced. Great place.
The food was exceptional. I had the grilled ahi, rare with arugula and sunchokes. Cooked to perfection and mouthwatering delicious. My boyfriend had the pasta carbonara. Lucky for me he let me try a bite! OMG was it good! I've never had this dish with peas in it but it gave it a bit of color and was a tasty addition. My friend had a dinner salad and a mushroom soup that was also delicious. I seriously can not wait to come back!
Crowded table arrangement but we were accommodated immediately for our group of 6. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. However, the food took FOREVER to reach our table. Just over 50 minutes, and 3 of the 6 of us had Fish Tacos (excellent). The restaurant was quite crowded, but the kitchen was obviously not prepared.
