San Marino is home to the finest northern Italian Cuisine in New York City.
Our restaurant offers delicious and authentic dishes with recipes rooted in Northern Italy. San Marino serves the only finest veal, rack of lamb, chicken, and fish as well as homemade pasta and dessert.
Owner Sammy Gashiano started working in an Italian Restaurant at the age of 16 in Rimini, Italy. In 1995, he followed his passion to a NYC restaurant where he picked up the skills necessary in gourmet food at the hard knock school of fine dining, working his way to master chef in places like Acapella and Lorto’s. By the age of 32 Sammy established his first restaurant, San Marino, in downtown Manhattan at 15 Gold Street, which later expanded to Staten Island. Now, he’s expanded again offering his incredible food to the bustling neighborhood of Soho.
In December 2013, we opened the doors to Antica Ristorante in the Financial District. anticany.com

The food was fine (not brilliant) and the service attentive, but the place was virtually empty on a Thursday night. I always like a little bit of buzz.

I was surprised to find the restaurant not at all crowded. Even more surprised, when I found the food excellent and the service outstanding. The portions very large and nicely presented. I chose San Marino for its location near the SOHO theater. And would easily recommend to friends or business associates for any occasion.

Went on a cold January evening. Received a warm welcome from the staff. While we had a glass of wine the server brought us delicious eggplant chips and olives . Food was wonderful, service was very professional and old world helpful. Have already recommended to friends. Looking forward to returning soon.

Happened upon this restaurant when looking for a place to eat before a concert at City Winery. It is a small restaurant attached to a hotel. It probably offers brunch and breakfast to the residents of the hotel. We went for dinner. The service was outstanding. Everyone in the restaurant was there to watch out for you. The bartender came over to make sure she made a cocktail correctly....the person drinking said it needed to be "up" without ice. She went back to the bar and brought back two delicious cocktails made to order. We were a party of four and we shared a pasta dish which the waiter split for us. We ordered a veal dish and a chicken dish and both were excellent. My husband raved about his branzino which was served whole with head on but most of the bones were removed. Served nicely. The wine ordered was also good. I definitely will return here and mention it to friends.

Searching for a intimate place for a one-on-one meal, we landed on this discreet place in western Soho. We missed it at first, since it is tucked away next to a hotel. The passageway into the dining area was narrow, portending disaster. But it opened out to an open room with well-spaced tables, in a quiet setting. Lighting was a bit too bright for that intimate feeling we were looking for. It probably can be described as a hotel resto, situated in a lonely stretch of Soho. That said: the food was excellent; the extras were most welcome (ton of well-oiled olives, zucchini chips...). I asked for an exchange of pasta for potatoes and was immediately accommodated, no charge. I couldn't sample the bottles of red but my Santa Cristina by the glass was exceptionally nice. The wait staff (Mario and Enzo) were super! I would go back since they try so hard to make this a great evening - and they succeeded wonderfully! If only more people would take advantage of it and fill up the dining room. There were but a handful of people present.

I was staying at the Marriot Courtyard and decided to not travel too far. I saw that San Marino was a nearby restaurant and decided to go there. The portobello mushroom and red snapper dishes that I had ordered were cooked perfectly. I will most definitely be back again.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant I always have to eat here when we travel for business in New York City. The food is outstanding and service is 5 Star. Porcini Mushroom Ravioli is divine. Love the little extra portions of bread the parmigiano cheese and the fried zucchini and the last little glass of grappa to finish off a great meal. A must eat place if you’re in tow amazing.

San Marino is a terrific italian restaurant with an attentive staff and a very calm atmosphere for excellent dining. Everything was delicious, we started with fried zucchini and olives, which were complimentary on the house. They also offered gluten free and vegetarian options. We highly recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a good Italian restaurant.

Fabulous! The service was beautiful and the food was amazing. I tested everyone's entree, between 4 of us we had 2 kinds of pasta; one with pesto sauce, one with lemon sauce and salmon. We also tried branzini and red snapper; that was delicious. We were treated with respect but not in an over bearing way. The staff were obliging and charming and interested in serving us and making our visit memorable - they achieved that. We would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to people who appreciate fine dining and want to enjoy that 'special' nice out. We certainly would return

i don't know how they got the high rating ! My 1st clue to a problem was the fact that our table of 4 was the only diners in the restaurant for an hour. we were later joined by another table of 4 and a table of 1 ! This is a Thursday night in NYC ? the food was fair at best, with my orecchiette/sausage pasta appetizer nearly tasteless. the wait staff was pleasant and attentive and the restaurant is nicely decorated, but the food was definitively a disappointment.

I came here for a business meeting and everything was quite delectable. The staff was on point and very professional from when I came until I left. The food may I add was even better than the service which was top of the line. All together I highly recommend this place and look forward to dining again very soon. Thank you San Marino.

Everyone at San Marino treated my family and I like honored guests. As soon as we sat, we were provided with complimentary fried eggplant and olives. Both were delicious. The bread was decent too. The calamari at first appeared pedestrian, but it was very tender and delicious. All of our entrees were outstanding and my son's lobster ravioli had huge, tender chunks of lobster in it. After dinner, I was offered complimentary Sambucca aperitif. My two glasses of wine both had generous pours. We would return here for sure. Great food and reasonable prices for SoHo.

We had a business dinner and had about 10 people in our group. The restaurant booked us a private party room which was quite and cozy. We ordered pre-fixed dinner menu and shared 4 appetizers family style. The second course portion was very generous and everyone enjoyed their selection from salmon to veal. We ordered bottles of both white and red wine to share and completed the dinner with coffee and tea and shared a few desserts as we were pretty full. Highly recommend the restaurant if you have a chance to go to NYC.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here before a concert that was around the corner. It was early on a Friday night (before 6) and there was one other group of four in the room. Service was attentive without being overbearing and the food was wonderful, starting with the olives and zucchini chips plates that arrived with the bread and butter. We shared an appetizer of calamari that was oh so tender! My husband declared his spaghetti carbonara to be the best he ever had. I had a chicken dish with artichokes and mushrooms that was delightful. I think we have found a new favorite restaurant!!!
