If eating delicious homemade pasta from a wheel of Parmigiano cheese served tableside is on your bucket list, this place is for you! (And if it isn't, it SHOULD be.) We dined here for my Wife's birthday and could not have been happier with the meal, the service or the ambiance !

There was a Christmas party and we were relegated to a corner that felt more like a closet. The maître d was only mildly sympathetic. It was not a great experience for a business meeting.

Don't be fooled by the fact that you have to walk through the under-construction facade of the adjacent Four Points hotel to get here -- the restaurant is not affiliated with that budget hotel. Instead, you step into Tuscany where Italian waiters deliver friendly, seamless service and the kitchen provides fabulous, not-too-pricey cuisine. I started with a perfect prosciutto melone, went on to gluten-free penne arrabiata (fantastic sauce), and then had a perfectly seared medium-rare filet mignon. We also shared octopus for the table and had some amazing Italian wine that usually doesn't leave Italy. Highly recommended!

Don’t be fooled by the entrance off the hotel. It’s hidden in the back and you’d think maybe no. The food is excellent as well as the service. I would definitely go back.

Wow! Service was remarkably good. What a hidden GEM... little bit off the busy path but worth it go! Wide variety of menu items, not to mention their weekly specials, it was hard to pick because every dish sounded great. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and fantastic food. You get every dollar out of this restaurant!

This place really caught me off guard how exceptional the food and service was. Our party of 4 came in expecting a decent Italian meal but from the minute walked in we all loved it. After quickly being seated we were give an opti to choose our bread . Right we received olives and fried zucchini. The calamari, carbonara all had a great flavor. My friends loved the food same way . Overall fantastic experience and amazing food .

It's too bad this little gem is hidden in the Sheraton as it has a warm atmosphere (once you get past the outside bar or hotel lobby) and the food and service are exceptional.
Greeted with a plate of olives and another plate of zucchini, the ambiance begins immediately.

This was our first time to the restaurant and we would definitely return for a meal the next time we return to New York City as well as telling others about it. The staff were completely professional and attentive. Besides the wonderful food, they certainly helped make our first night in the city a most memorable one. Saluti San Marino Soho!

Few times i been in this place and was never dissapointed ! Had a few drinks at the outdoor bar and after we dinned inside the restaurant. We shared a few appetizers like prosciutto di parma and calamari fritti which were outstanding. Probably the best calamari ever. Tender to perfection and the breading was so perfect and crispy. I loved the Branzino Al Cartoccio (wrapped in aluminum foil), the server was right that all the flavor and aroma remained inside it. My wife had the homemade fettuccine pasta with lamb ragu which she loved as well. Serice was excellent as well. This is a hidden gem ! Strongly recommend...

The food is delicious and has a light touch. I had the eggplant rollatini appetizer and the ravioli with mushroom sauce--I'm still enjoying it long after having eaten it. A friend had the branzino, cooked in foil, moist and tasty.

I do not drink, but bottles of wine adorn the restaurant.

The cannolis are the best I've ever had. (Indeed, until eating at San Marino, I didn't even know cannolis can be ranked, but these are my favorites.)

The staff is friendly, charming, and attentive, yet discreet.

I've been to the restaurant three times. Once it was fairly busy, but the other two times it had only a few patrons, and I found the spacious, quiet ambiance at once soothing and refreshing.

Excellent food and service! Would highly recommend! Prices are extremely reasonable for that area of Manhattan. We arrived early for our reservation and were immediately seated. Drinks arrived quickly.
Very nice specials! It was a bit loud due to a large party of about 20 young men. It was nice after they left! I will definitely return when I am in the area!!

I have eaten in restaurant all over the world and i can categorically state , this is the best so far and nothing else come close.

The service is exceptional and the greeting and attention from the manager is phenomenal , this is by far the very best in fine dining.

The quality of the food is beyond belief. I have always found this place to be warm , friendly with service that cannot be matched.
Other restaurants should bow down and take notes this is how it’s done.

If i could give more than 10/10 i would. BRILLIANT.

San Marino is a good restaurant but the service is awful. It’s good ONLY because of the food and a nice server named “Gume” (Gumercino), he’s latino and hosts you as you deserve, with recommendations, outstanding service, constantly attention, etc. However there’s another server named Arbi or something similar, that at the end he ends up being “the manager” when you have a complaint (honestly it’s the first time in my life going to restaurants rate with 4 or 5 starts that the manager serves at the table too). You have to discuss with him for some considerable minutes and go back to the restaurant if you want to get a refund for a doble tip because their phone line is shut off. YES! THIS RESTAURANT DOUBLE TIPS and they don’t let you know that the tip is include in the check already, which by law is forbidden.

To read more continue here:
Anyway, you leave your tip like in everywhere and you say this to Arbi, who took the payment already and he doesn’t tell you that was already charged (Not honesty at all). Is it not suspicious? Well, yes! And it’s more when you try to contact and call the same night to restaurant, and every day the next week to the phone number in Opentable and also registered in the check and the phone line doesn’t work. The worst is when you could take some of your time to go to Tribeca again (when you don’t go there ever) and say the issue that happened to you and then he says he’s the manager and gives a lot of excuses justifying his behavior. And he still asks what we need, because for him isn’t obvious yet that This is not Right!... We want our money back of course!!!

I enjoyed the meal at San Marino and the service was really good. The ambiance can use a little help and they need to add non dairy options for coffee. In today's dietary trends, Oat or Almond Milk are almost a pre-requisite.

We came early (5:30 pm), and enjoyed easy seating and a quiet time. The decor is tasteful. Two waiters served us, and both were knowledgeable, professional, personable. The food was wonderful first to last: a fine minestrone (Northern Italian, not tomato-based); a shared eggplant rolletini appetizer, so tender and tasty (perhaps my favorite dish); and two pasta dishes, one with seafood, which were flavorful and hearty but not too heavy (no easy trick). For dessert we split two cannolis. I've had cannolis in many places in different cities, and these were my favorite. I've given this more thought than anyone should: I think it's because the shell had character without being hard or brittle, and the filling seemed to me just a bit like ice cream. I'm glad I didn't take cannolis to go or I might have eaten them all night. I did take my pasta dish to go and much enjoyed it the next day. SoHo can be proud.

THe atmosphere was pleasant -- large, not cramped. The service was excellent. The food was average. The fried zuccinni that they offer (not ordered) was soggy. The bread was stale. My minestrone was mild and good. My carbonara was standard, nothing special -- a bit salty and gooey. My friend said his veal was good and his caesar good. The cannoli that we shared was great.
In all, it was pleasant, but not outstanding. Average.
