SAN CARLO Osteria Piemonte
Restaurant "SAN CARLO Osteria Piemonte" is one of the few references throughout New York of Piedmont cuisine and North Italy. Come and experience tastes that have hundreds of years and you'll be without. We are waiting for you…..
The food was amazing but the restaurant was WAY to bright and the explosion of red stars on the table made the valentines dinner seem cheap. It would have also been nice to choose something from a limited menu. All in all fair experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this small, but wonderful local restaurant. The food/service were all outstanding and would strong recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the downtown area of NYC. I know we will be back.
So happy to see a restaurant from the Piemonte region. Everything was excellent!
The food was amazing....the silliest thing though is that they had the super bowl on ...in Italian...not at all conducive to either the dining experience or watching the game.
San Carlo has the best restaurant week deals. I’ve tried their summer and winter restaurant week menus and I must say their food is always fresh and taste is consistent. I have yet to be disappointed by a meal there. Both their summer and winter truffles are amazing.
Lovely lunch with a friendly atmosphere that make us feel home.
I love San Carlo. It's Italian food like you eat in Italy. No gunky chicken parmesan. They serve modern Italian food composed of the best ingredients, simple recipes that resonate on your tongue. The service is terrific...just like in Italy. They treat you like you are a guest in their home. Go...you'll love it!
Complete perfection... from start to finish!
Everything was wonderful. The food is delicious, very traditional piemontese cuisine. The appetizers were a great start: the tartar, veal, and anchovy toast. First course of chestnut pasta was rich and satisfying, with a great texture contrast of hazelnuts. Second course was duck breast, which was cooked perfectly. Dessert was chocolate mousse, which was surprisingly not extremely sweet (good thing). Great way to end the meal. The service was attentive and pleasant. Definitely will be back to try other dishes, especially the truffle menu.
Went for restaurant week. Really enjoyed the food. Great menu options. Very generous portions. Attentive sommelier and wait staff.
The service was impeccable - if you would like a true Italian experience - this is the place to be. Food was on point that tiramisu was so good - ingredients are fresh like the beef cheek - you only need a fork and pair it all with some freshly grated white truffle with a glass of Lambrusco - yesssss - please transport yourself back to Italy without leaving NYC :)
San Carlo is a special Italian restaurant with a strength in seafood, meat, and pasta dishes! You can always count on reasonablely priced wine to enhance your dining experience there. The bass with kale sauce is amazing and the beef agnlotti are not to be missed! Enjoy!
Second visit here and both times were fantastic. It was restaurant week, went in for lunch and great value for high quality authentic dishes from Piedmont
Excellent service and hospitality! Very accommodating...and truffles 😌
Cute and delicious. Great for date night with your significant other or your girlfriends.
Incredible angel hair truffle pasta, best we've ever had. Beef tartare was also excellent as an app. Pork tenderloin was solid, although overshadowed by the truffle pasta. Tiramisu desert to die for.
Will definitely come back again.
Excellent quality and value. Will go back often.
What a wonderful authentic Northern Italian gem! Everything’s fantastic-the food with a obrabt menu, the perfect service and the overall atmosphere making you feel like you’re in Italy!
Great food and good service. I am going for lunch today and will go back for dinner very soon
Food was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and kind. The experience was lovely and we can’t wait to go back with others.
Loved it second time there. Very solid
First place I've been in nyc in over a decade where the pasta takes like I am in Italy.
Amazing.....I would have bet my paycheck I was in the Piedmont region.....
My family has been raving about it for weeks..
We'll return in a couple weeks next time were in town!!
The food and service were great. Noise level is just right. You can have a conversation without having to raise your voice.
One of the best Italian restaurants in NYC!
Our server was not familiar with the wine list at all and was not able to answer my questions.
They did not bring bread to the table we had to ask for after 25 mins of waiting.
The food was not that hot to eat not was it breathtaking.
The knew the service wasn’t the best and gave us complimentary moscato at the end.
Overall I was disappointed with my experience. I will probably not come again or recommend it. It did not feel it was worth my money spent.
San Carlo is a lovely find in the heart of the village. It has a very unique Piedmontese menu, the one I grew up with, rich in flavors and tradition. The service is excellent and so is its wine list. The night I was there there were small table with couples as well as larger groups, but the ambience was very cozy and the noise level remarkably acceptable for a NYC restaurant. I will definitely go back and bring my American friends with me so that they can try a different type of Italian menu than what they are so used to.
Absolutely great italien food, wine and service! Go and taste it!
Very nice athmosfere. Appetisers were extremely good.
Really nice restaurant. Not a lot of guests, excellent service and great food. Just a bit pricy.
Restaurant has a very warm upscal atmosphere and the hosts show real italian hospitality. Original menu’s, food very well presented and excellent taste. Super wine list
nice place where you can find authentic italian cusine
Great value of food, ambience and service.
Really the most authentic Italian/piedmont in the City.
Always come back with pleasure when I’m in town.
Never give up guys!
A great place with really authentic dishes from Piedmont (being from Piedmont myself I feel I can make that claim). Great wines from Piedmont too. A bit pricey (that's why value I just gave three stars) but it's just a warning not to expect something more low key: their choice of ingredients (very high quality) and the location (in the heart of Soho) justifies the premium. Recommended.
We love this restaurant. The food is great and the service wonderful.
Great food. Great service. Very friendly staff. Outstanding !
The owner was super warm and friendly. I loved his hospitality. And our waiter was great too. But the food was surprisingly average. My boyfriend had some type of meat-filled ravioli pasta - the meat was dry and flavorless, and the pasta itself was thick and hard...nothing close to delicate and handmade. Also the bread that was served before we received our food - something I thought was hard to get wrong in NYC - was just very mediocre. I will say, my pork chop was delicious! But I was really expecting more from the other cuisine. I also would have preferred a quieter, more romantic atmosphere; Osteria is rather loud.
The food here was good but the overall experience was spoilt by our patronising waiter who was not happy with his $40 tip!
It was just ok - service nit that good
