My family and I had a wonderful time. The service was great and timely. The food was great. The ambience was amazing and in line with what I wanted to celebrate my daughter's 24th. I would definitely recommend Sam's on the Waterfront!!
Always a great experience at Sam’s!
The Service and food was great as per usual. We were seated in the parking lot due to pandemic rules of social distancing which isn’t ideal but we still had an enjoyable experience given the fact.
The Crab Soup was spectacular: creamy, smooth, and tasty. Social distancing for inside seating was well maintained although tables were empty.
Food was prepared well and presentation very good.
I recommend this restaurant.
It was perfect! No noise, great view, awesome service and food!
We love Sams, we sat inside along the water and it was great. Mika was our server and she was amazing!
Kudos to Alex who was our server. Everything was great, but the food wasn't as before!
Jambalaya was way too salty and spicy hot, and not as good as always. Maybe they have a new Chef?
Great date night very safe during this pandemic. All guest were spaced out and i loved. Our waiter was nice and patient loved every bit of our conversation
The service was the poorest service I have ever had at a restaurant. When I spotted at my table, I placed an order for a drink. It was not brought to me. After 20minutes I had to ask the waitress for it again. I was the only person in the dinner room. It's not as if the place was crowded. It wasn't. My appetizer was served to me and I placed an order for Crab cakes. Something else was brought to me and I was bewildered at the late. It tasted nothing like crab cakes. The waitress came back to tell me that they served me some else's appetizer. She said because I took a bite I will be charged for it . I said absolutely not
She later brought my rightfully ordered crab cakes and I wasn't charged for the wrong appetizer
It's a beautiful restaurant but they need better service!
Great location on a cove on the bay. Food was delicious. We had the rockfish special and the seafood pasta. Service was excellent.
This meal was a belated birthday celebration for my cousins as well as a going away lunch for me! My cousin had never been, but Sam’s is my hubby’s and my favorite restaurant. As usual, it did not disappoint. Great meal and great ambiance.
Food was bland and lackluster
Tasted like it was premade, and just warmed up and brought out. For the price and location, was expecting a MUCH better meal than what was given. The bottomless drinks made you not so concerned about how bad the food was....
Lovely spot nrlext to the water. They need to stop serving with plastic cutlery - that ruins a meal, COVID or not.
The meal that ordered was good ( stuffed shrimp with crab) My only truly disappointment was the cocktail. We ate outside near the sidewalk but would have loved to had a seat on the pier level.
Hard to write a review during these Covid times. I've always enjoyed Sam's. FYI only: if eating off of paper plates with plastic flatware and plastic cups does not bother you - even inside the restaurant, even if it's a steak.... then you'll be fine. I have to admit being surprised since I've not experienced this at other restaurants when dining inside. Their reasoning is logical and understandable - it's for the protection of their staff. Can't blame them. I won't be dining there until the covid mess is over. Service was, as usual, better than average and attentive. Atmosphere doesn't count anymore, restaurants' ambience is negatively affected by limited capacity.
The view is the first thing you see, beautiful. Friendly and good people.
Followed coronavirus protocol with paper plates, silverware and masks. Excellent food and service.
This is the Annapolis' Best Crab Cakes 36
Lemon Caper Remoulade, Israeli Cous Cous& Fresh Vegetables entree. Served on cardboard recyclable plates. If you look closely there are 2 plates because your meal will easily soak through. The lemon caper remoulade was not on the crab cakes but in the little plastic to go sauce container. We were also given plastic utensils that you get from KFC's, and plastic cups.
We made reservations for dinner to celebrate my birthday. Total disappointment. I understand the precautions we have to make because covid-19 but serving a $36 meal on paper plates at cloth covered tables, and drinking a $14 Presecco in a plastic is unacceptable. The least the restaurant could have done was informed us in advance or discount the meal. I have had dinner at other restaurants and was served on real plates with real silverware. The resolve would be a take out service only. I will not be returning. My daughter had the Sams Seafood Pasta Dinner which the pasta was sticking to the paper plate. Red Velvet Smith Island Cake was complimentary because it was my birthday. It was not good very dry. The food tasted precooked and warmed up prior to serving.
Birthday dinner ruined. I bragged about this restaurant to my friend and was embarrassed this was the presentation we received.
Great food and beautiful night. Service was attentive and responsive and they had a fun talented guitarist playing and singing on the deck. A delightful evening. We have a home in Annapolis and come on many weekends during spring - fall. We had not been to Sam's for a long time but we will definitely be back a few more times this season. We forgot how nice and charming it is.
Our friends had not been to Sam’s On the Waterfront. It such a great place to meet and have an excellent dinner. Dress is casual, especially if you’re outside. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. One of our favorite places to eat in Annapolis.
Terrific staff and delicious food w/ wonderful seating on the dock.
Was great food and wonderful views. Not too impressed for a waterfront restaurant to only offer paper and plastic utensils. Other restaurants in Annapolis are using regular tableware. You should not have to drink good wine out of plastic cups. Disappointed with that. Otherwise good food.
Plastic cutlery and glassware; biodegradable plates. Salt and pepper in McDonald's style packets. Average at best.
Wonderful experience and the service was wonderful. From the maitre d to the waitress, it was wonderful
Great service - Everyone following strict social distancing and mask-wearing. Delicious food. Wonderful service. Will definitely be back.
I got seated and was told they weren’t serving brunch even though the website said until 3:30. That was fine. I sat waiting for over 15 minutes and nobody came to take my order or even acknowledged me. I tried to flag down two people at that point and they both ignored me. So I left. It might be good but if they act this way when it wasn’t even busy I don’t know.
Very charming atmosphere, great service and pretty good food!
The staff seemed super confused and overwhelmed by the number of customers. The hosts took at least 10 minutes to even acknowledge us, then the kitchen was backed up. The waiter was also slow. Food was pretty good tho.
Tilghman is a great server, polite and enthusiastic!
I wouldn’t go back for the food. I liked the view. I ordered the crab bisque soup and it was 98% cream. Very disappointing. The crab cake was good. The service was the beat part. Our waitress was very friendly. Over all the experience was forgetful. 3/5 stars.
Had a great time. Food was fantastic, service was great. Couldn’t have a better view. Would highly recommend Sam’s.
Weirdly, at 8:00 on a Saturday night they started setting up for a kids band contest right in the middle of the restaurant. It killed the whole feel of the evening with all these people running in and out and setting up equipment. Seemed strange for what was once a premier restaurant in Annapolis, and especially for a Saturday night.
My son and I recently dined at Sam’s after being unable to obtain a diner reservation elsewhere. I should have been forewarned based on the availability of the last minute reservation. I had the Steak Fritte special, my son had the Best Crabcake in Annapolis. There was nothing special about my steak. It was over cooked and smothered in a tangy sauce that must have been intended to mask the quality of the meat. My son’s crabcake was disappointing to say the least. As first time visitors to Annapolis we hope that other establishments have a crabcake that can truly lay claim as the best in Annapolis. In fact we know this to be true as we had a wonderful meal the previous evening at Cantler’s.
Was unable to appreciate the openness of the restaurant because of the weather. Tables are well spaced, prices are reasonable, everybody loved their food. Offered a prix fixe menu during restaurant week which was a great value. Need to go back when the weather is warmer and enjoy the open air ambiance.
My husband and I decided to try out Annapolis Restaurant Week, and Sam’s on the Waterfront has a great menu set for the occasion. Upon arriving, we had no issues with parking and were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess. We made a reservation 20 minutes before arriving and were shown to our table immediately. We sat next to the windows overlooking the water and everything about the restaurant was peaceful and enjoyable. Our food was fantastic and the portion sizes were great considering they were to be smaller than the portion sizes when it’s not Annapolis Restaurant Week. Great experience! Great service by Kerrigan! Will be back again soon!
Great food and service !
We decided to try Sams because they were participating in restaurant week and the offered menu looked good. The setting is on the water, a marina back bay but on the water. The service was good, we were waited on quickly and the waiter was attentive. The food honestly was mediocre at best. The crab soup was okay but lacked crab, one bite in the entire cup. My wife's calamari was cooked but not long enough to get crispy. Our sandwiches were lackluster, my burger was over cooked and bland and my wifes chicken sandwich was dry, very dry. One positive, their french fries are really good! Long and short, for us it was not worth the ride.
The service was wonderful and everyone was very professional. The restaurant has outstanding views and good Ambience. There was a band tonight and even the band with the music was not very disruptive or very loud it was actually very entertaining
