Sam's on the Waterfront
The food was very good. A lot of different choices for our party of six. Our waitress was very attentive, without being on top of us. It is nice to go to brunch and have the option of lunch or dinner, and to leave full and satisfied. And the view was amazing!
Had a great dinning experience here. Took my wife for our anniversary. The view is beautiful, the food tasted great, and the service was excellent. It was just a little bit pricey but still had a great time here!
A beautiful venue. The food is consistently good. Unfortunately, the live music was way too loud and not very good. it was overpowering in such a small setting.
Went there for lunch, wife had rockfish and I had crab stuffed shrimp, the food was delicious, very pleased.
Service was outstanding, our server took very good care of us.
There is not a bad seat, there is a good view of the inlet from anywhere in the restaurant.
Noise level is really loud!, very difficult to have a conversation. The restaurant had two large groups while we were there, large groups are always noisy. There are hard surfaces every where, no noise abatement.
This was our first time there, we will g back.
Great place for a nice dinner away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Sam's on the Waterfront is in a beautiful setting. Not only do you have access to the water, but the many boats docked in the marina are on full display. The real issues are the food and service. The food is very average and not particularly good. If they were going for casual, but good I wouldn't have any issue. I had the tacos and my guest had the rockfish. Neither was appetizing. We started with calamari, that was good, but nothing spectacular. The server was confused. He told me I could order a certain martini, then came back and said they didn't make that drink. Overall not worth the money.
I asked for rare n the Salmon and they actually did it on a nice thick slice. Hooray. The Rockfish grilled was really the only disappointment. OK but kind of ordinary.
Risotto delicious. Vegetables cooked just right.
The view on the waterfront is nice but really up close on the boats so not spectacular.
I have always enjoyed Sam's, particularly outside. But the weather was not optimal for brunch so we opted for a table near a window. Dirty windows, dirty and a bit spacey server, nobody in the bloody place! Not a good sign. My Chesapeake poached eggs were good, but my friend's dirty hash was not good at all but she didn't want to complain. She did tell the server at the end, but there was no response. Won't be going inside again but will stick with their outside bar area for happy hour - which I loved this summer - ambiance, service, food and drink were all splendid outside.
Love Sams and will be back. Waiter was inattentive after food first came out, never came back to check on drinks.
A lovely meal outside on the water. Our pup enjoyed too! Be sure to get the scallops appetizer. Delish!
The service was not good! The server was busy and we understood, however she was not attentive at all. We had to ask for a togo box and drinks several times. The manager was nonexistent. He did not do table visits and did not help the front of the house. For my second time time eating here, super disappointed in the overall service.
Food was excellent. Service was slow even though restaurant was not busy. Overall very good.
Great ambiance...fantastic crab benedict....wonderful fun waitress......good time had by all
We asked for a table by the window and were told no. There was only 1 other table occupied in the restaurant while we were there. The hostess was not friendly and, when we had a problem with our bill, the manager was equally rude. Food was good but not worth putting up with all the other stuff. We won’t be back.
A bit expensive but both of our meals were very good. The location is also really nice. Would return but maybe only for a special occasion due to the price.
Excellent dining experience on the water in Annapolis. Every dish to the table was well presented and delicious. One of my family's favorite restaurants. We brought friends with us on this outing and they were raving as well.
The stuffed shrimp was delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Great water view.
It was really nice. A good view, good food and the service was okay. The only thing was the bathroom was very nasty and it smelled horrible. There water in the soap dispenser and no papertowels. It was also at the opening of the restaurant.
The waitress misheard our order and only brought half the items we ordered. 2/4 people got meals. She put our order back in incorrectly so the wrong items came out. It was 30 minutes after the first half got their meals that the second half of the party got their correct meals. The food was not good and too expensive. I do not recommend.
Our server Shawn was outstanding. He made great recommendations and made us feel very welcome. The food was good and the scenery was beautiful.
I expected much more for the cost of the food and drinks.
The worse dining experience ever. We booked Sams to see a local band Guava Jelly. To begin with the gentleman at the front desk may have been having one of those days. He did not look welcoming on seeing us and I would prefer not to speculate why. Front facing staff should always be mindful of their disposition when dealing with the public, just to give you guys feedback. After asking to be seated outside so that we can see the band, he indicated there were no nearby seats, no problem so we were led begrudgingly to our seats on the patio. We waited for about 10 mins before we got service and we had to ask one of the waiters. A gentlemen came by and asked us what we wanted. He seemed pleasent. He took our drink orders and we waited and waited. We even had to ask another wait staff to follow up. The wait was so excruciating we just got up and left. What was embarrassing is that my mother in law was visiting us from out of town and it just soured the evening. As folks who have patronized Sam’s before, we were deeply disappointed. We definitely will not be coming back anytime soon especially since there are so many good dining options available.
LOVE THIS WATERFRONT RESTAURANT. THE CHEF IS VERY TALENTED! THE SOFT SHELL CRABS WERE AMAZING AND PERFECTLY PREPARED. I HAD THE STEAK AND I LOVED IT. THE WAITER SHAWN WAS THE VERY BEST AND WE ASK FOR HIM EACH TIME WE EAT HERE. THE MANAGER PETER STOPPED BY TO SEE HOW WE WERE DOING... VERY NICE TOUCH! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I had out of town company visiting and looked for something on the water. Never been here so gave it a try based on reviews.
Cocktails were very watered down. to the point the re order of a gin/tonic was just tonic
We were 3 families in the restaurant. So attention to detail should've been good in the kitchen. It was not. The noodles ordered in the pasta dish were extremely over done and hard.
The appetizers were overpriced for what was served;
$15 for scallops - Only three for the serving???
$10 for crab stuffed deviled eggs. Only two...Really?
The ambiance was excellent and Shawn, our server, was great. The overall quality does not warrant a return visit.
Excellent food at a great location! Beautiful for relaxing getaway dining.
Enjoyed a nice dinner with a great view overlooking the water. The food, while not great, was not bad either and I would recommend this restaurant to friends just for the location.
Terrific service, wonderful view and delicious Lobster rolls. Thank you
Very nice restaurant/view on the water. Food was delicious and service was outstanding.
Lunch was very relaxed with a great view of the marina. My salad with grilled salmon was fantastic, tons of flavor! The fish and chips were plentiful and delicious and the grilled rockfish was delicious as well. Our waiter Shawn was exceptional and he added a lot to our awesome experience!
The food was great and the server was great. The location was not of my liking since it is in a gated neighborhood community away from the Annapolis waterfront activity. The host was a young gentleman who did not offer us a choice of indoor or outdoor seating but instead insisted that "they had us reserved for an indoor table for 2" suggesting the indoor dining option was dictated by reserving through Open Table which was a bit annoying.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner made special by the staff
For the price the good was eh. The server was new so I’ll give a pass there. Took forever for very weak (all ice) drinks to arrive. $9 salad of lettuce & pumpkin seeds was quite small. Scallops were nice but 2 for $15 seems a bit steep even in this town. It was a very hot day, sat on the indoor porch. No one could figure out how to get the fans on. Overall VERY disappointing
Beautiful view. Very good food. Visiting the area for a week and we ate here 4 times.
Great view and ambiance. We are NC coastal residents and appreciate well prepared seafood. I’m confident that you’ll not be disappointed.
This was our first dining experience at Sam's in about 15 years, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
The host was very pleasant and we were seated promptly. The atmosphere is nautical and the marina views are fantastic! There were quite a few vessels which pulled up to the dock, whose owners took advantage of the outdoor seating.
Our waiter, Shawn, was extremely impressive and quite a dapper gentleman.
The wine List is respectable and very on point for full bottle pricing.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Half Price Burger night. The burgers are Fantastic and the fries are great too! We took home the Seafood Pasta, which was delicious! The Chef here is obviously talented!!! We also enjoyed the deviled eggs, calamari and the crab soup!
I certainly recommend Sam's for every occasion. I also very highly recommend requesting to be waited on by Shawn, who greatly added to the special ambiance of our evening!
Over priced, small portions.
We were in the Annapolis area for a family funeral. Our family wanted some good seafood with hopefully a view of the water and sunset. While Open Table did not allow us to specify our request the restaurant management accommodated us very nicely. Thank you!
The best sautéed soft shell inAnnapolis. This restaurant is a pleasant surprise.
This restaurant has a very nice water view from any table. Had the crab eggs Benedict which was very good! My advice to the kitchen though is to stop dicing the hash brown potatoes; their perfect little squares make them look like they were poured out of a frozen food bag. Something with a hand-cut look would be preferable for a restaurant of otherwise good caliber.
Nice restaurant, sits on the Annapolis Harbor. Great views
