The food at Samphire is far more impressive than last year. If you enjoyed it then, you will love it now. Excellent Indian flavoured Mackerel, excellent cheese all to be recommended

This was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. We had the pigeon and poached eggs with asparagus and hollandaise to start followed by duck breast and lovely desserts of chocolate torte and pistachio cake. It was really, really amazing food. Every bite was just exquisite and I'm already dreaming of returning to Whitstable so I can eat there again! It was also a double special occasion--a birthday plus some very very good news--and it was the perfect surroundings and meal with which to celebrate! Staff was wonderful and accommodating as well. Loved the ambiance of the place too.

A small but perfectly formed menu of delicious locally sourced food, cooked in intruiqing modern British and inspirational combinations. Friendly attentive easy-going service and a quaint atmosphere. Would like to see perhaps one more non fish/meat option on the mains. Would go back and would recommend.

We visited Samphire last year and had a very good dinner, so this year we booked for our wedding anniversary with two friends. The meal was even better than last year, with all saying that every course was excellent - and that was across a range a different dishes comprising fish and/or meat. My lamb was perfectly pink. The only criticism was one person having the cheese felt it should have been at room temperature. Wine list good and affordable - with most bottles in the £20 range (one only at £40.00 - a Chablis) - and a very interesting Black Muscat on the pudding wine list - a wine I'd not seen before or tasted - I will be searching some of that out. The service was friendly and well spaced to meet our desire to pass a whole evening eating and chatting. Ambience unpretentious and homely. Local products are used - and without doubt the best asparagus we've had this year. Long may you keep your cooking at this high standard - a real treat - contributing to a memorable anniversary - thank you.

My friend and I went here for lunch recently and were very pleased with it. We also had a 4 year old and a very large buggy with baby with us. The staff were very welcoming, even with the buggy, which isn't always the case elsewhere with young children. We had the crab to start and the fish pie and both were very tasty and perfectly cooked. Lovely wines were available by the glass also. I often eat here and I am never disappointed. Genuine staff and great food, a winner I'd say!

We booked the night before through Open Table and our nice table in the window had been reserved for us. The service from a young pleasant lady was friendly and yet professional. The food was well prepared and filling and well presented. The Lunch Menu was sensibly short but a look at the menus for Brunch and Dinner would encourage us to visit again. The English white wine while a tad expensive per glass for a House Wine, was a nice complement to our chosen food (Bread & Olives (both of us), Mussels and Haddock Kedgeree. We did not feel the need for a Desert ! We had not visited this Restaurant before but the friendly contained atmosphere appealed to us and although reasonably full it was not over noisy.
