Always fun. Try the Chefs Counter too. Happy Hour a great value! Staff really nice
Great food, excellent service !!
Great food and even better service. We started with the wonton crab tacos. They were amazing with terrific flavor. The Chilean sea bass was okay but the dessert sushi was the perfect ending. Highly recommend Sampan
Amazing food and fantastic service. We waited a long time for a table, though.
Great place! Enjoy coming here. Service could be a little better.
Amazing! Great service and lots of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options!
Our Sun. 715pm reservation was not honored by 7:30pm. As such, we left never planning to return!
Made a reservation at 9. Waited around for 2 hours and they never sat us. Had to leave and go to another restaurant.
I brought a friend visiting from out of town. We were very hungry and seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. We were a bit upset, but without us having to ask, we were offered appetizers for our wait, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Changed our entire mood. Delicious food too!
Great food and excellent service. Loved the $45 tasting menu - so much food but still fantastic quality.
This was not our first visit to Sampan. Arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated right away. Hard to get into the booth side of the table as the tables between diners are very close together. Ordered 4 small plates and one larger plate which was definitely enough for 2. Crispy rock shrimp - they look so good in the photo, but taste like absolutely nothing...unseasoned shrimp, zero flavor...so that was a waste of $14. Don't order these. The general tso dumplings were good, Brussels sprouts great, pork and shrimp spring rolls very good as well. We really enjoyed the short rib over lo mein. So why only 3 stars? The rush. We were seated, ordered drinks, ordered dinner and within 5 minutes our first dish was out. Now this is great if you are starving - something to get started until the rest of the meal comes. The problem is everything came out so quickly that by the time we got to some of our dishes they were already cold. The entire experience from the time we walked into the restaurant to the time we paid the check and left was about 45minutes. Talk about a rushed Saturday night dinner date. Sampan you still have great potential, but please SLOW DOWN and stop rushing your dinners just to turn tables faster. This is not an enjoyable experience
The classiest of the classiest. Can’t go wrong with this place. From the food to the service to the drinks. Simply perfect!
Best service ever. Told I was GFDF and the waitress, Liz, was meticulous. And the chef super accommodating. Manager checked on us too. Food excellent, and good drinks. Will def go back!
Friends from out of town came to for a conference and we met here for a reunion dinner. The waitress and staff were great and accomodating. We did a chef's tasting menu which allowed us to enjoy several selections throughout the menu. Highly recommend the Korean BBQ Beef and the Cheesesteak Bao.
Excellent service. Waiter , Patrick, listened and responded.
This was our 2nd visit to Sampan prior to going to the theater. It's now our go-to spot! The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly & knowledgable about the sake and food, and it's just plain fun.
Server was attentive, food came out quick, drinks were great! Over all great experience, would recommend to friends
Great service. Food was very tasty. Small plates to share.
Kristine was excellent. She made great recommendations for a group with a "diverse palate". The food itself is great and all sharable, so it makes for a fun experience. The Korean dishes are great. Can't miss the Edamame Dumplings, and spicy fried chicken Banh Mi.
Check out the Graffiti bar after your meal for a hip outside backalley adventure.
All was great but when I made a reservation, I specifically stated I’m there for happy hour so I wish they would’ve told me they don’t take reservations for happy hour.
Sampan is always a great time. The food is delicious and inventive with a great variety. The atmosphere is cozy and if you are able to get a seat at the kitchen bar, it's fun to watch the chefs preparing the different dishes. A great meal and good time as usual!
The food was delicious as always. We had an awesome time.
The table we sat at was stuck between two other couples. Not very comfortable. The food was good but way overpriced. Server forgot our drinks.
Very nice restaurant with a great vibe! Made me feel like I was in NYC! The food was awesome! The drinks were good as well. My friend and I did the chef 7-course selection which was great as it gives you a chance to try a little bit of everything. I definitely will be returning!
Everything about SAMPAN was amazing. We arrived early for our reservation and it was not a problem at all. The hostess seated us immediately and our waiter greeted us shortly after. The waiter was friendly, enthusiastic, and had great feedback to help us make our selections. The cocktails to start were amazing! My husband and I did the tasting menu for two which we believed would be the best way to sample a few different things since this was our first time dining at SAMPAN. The tasting menu allowed us to select 7 items! It was fantastic. Everything we ate was absolutely fresh and delicious! We were afraid we would not be full from just a tasting menu but we were stuffed! It was the perfect amount of food! We will definitely be returning.
Birthday for 8 18 year olds
Love the place , the concept and the food!
Our server ...enough said .
Angelica was great! It was very nice meeting new management. I Love Sampan!
Love, love, love.......great taste experience on so many levels. Great ingedients, great flavor, and Presentation. The service is fantastic it doesnt get any better....then theres the FOOD and to say its amazing is an understatement.
The food was excellent. Restaurant was noisy and we were seated next to kitchen which I wasn't happy about but overall great experience and would come back.
Fresh and delicious, great service.
First time here and I’d definitely go back
Here we are, Valentines 2018 and we're at our favorite place, Sampan. I made a small request to the hostess Kenzie, hope I spelled it write, asking to sit at the corner table by the window, I mentioned we had gotten engaged at that table 2 years ago. Without any hesitation she said no problem and were sat there right away. Proving she was the utmost professional, she made a mention to our server, Kaihly what I told her and she came to the table with complimentary champagne. Same thing happened last year when we returned for our first Valentines as a married couple. But enough with the accolades, could keep going on, let's talk about the amazing food. Each visit we have the Chef Tasting menu, and it never disappoints.
The food is ridiculously amazing!!! Each course was better than the one before. From the Pork Belly Buns to the Filet Mignon, which BTW, was the best filet ive ever had. Truth be told I work in a high end steakhouse and wish we cooked our steaks as well as these were cooked. They cut like butter!!
Like I said to my wife, I've never repeatedly eaten at the same restaurant, and have been "Wow'd" each and every time. I hope Sampan ( and Kaihly) will be there for a long time to come, so we can return each and every time we have an occasion to celebrate!!!
Thank you Sampan for being the best you can!!
A very busy Sunday, as Monday was President's Day. I think they were a little unprepared for the amount of people.
Excellent food and service. Perfect for pre-theater dining. Will definitely go again.
Excellent food and service, but extremely noisy.
We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation and had to wait a half hour by the front door for our table. It was obviously extremely busy. management apologized and told us the table had been there for over three hours and they were going to ask them to re locate if they were done eating. We finally sat and had our order taken at 9:30 pm , we opted for the seven course tasting menu. By 9:54 we were completely done our meal and being asked what we wanted for dessert. After not seeing my friends for several months and then being totally rushed through dinner after waiting for so long, this was a total let down. My water was never re filled, my coffee came with no spoon or sugar and then an attitude when we asked , as if an inconvenience. It was a night we were very much looking forward to and we just did not enjoy ourselves. Food was delicious, portions were ridiculously small, filet didn't even have two slices for each of us. There was five extremely small slices for 3 people ....Just a very unexpected experience. Would not return or recommend
Best soup dumplings. Great menu. Tried 8 or 9 dishes. Reasonably priced. Comfortable seating and distance between tables. Will go back soon.
We had a 7 pm reservation for 8 people. Our table was not ready upon arrival and we stood in the fairly crowded bar area. We were finally seated close to 7:30 which caused a bit of anxiety as we were going to a 9 pm show. Once seated however, the service was very good. To save time in making choices we decided to go with the tasting menu. Once that was decided, the food come out very fast and was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the pork bao bun, the swordfish satay and the brussel sprouts. The mini ice cream cones, especially the chocolate orange, were delicious. There was one small error in that we made our server aware of my husband's avocado allergy but the tuna rice cracker was served with the avocado. This was quickly remedied with a new serving of the same minus the avocado. She also threw in an extra dish that was not part of our tasting menu. The food was plentiful and the leftovers packed up for our hungry college student.
