Sammy's is an iconic place and it is a staple in City Island but I cannot tell you how disappointed I was yesterday. It was Mother's day and we had some birthdays to celebrate as well. I booked through open table. They lied reservations make NO difference we still had to stand and wait for 45 min. with Absolutely NO social distance! When I tell you I was never whirlwind through a meal so fast in my life! Upon receiving our meal not even 10 min. later we were brought "togo pans", we were never offered dessert (even though we brought our own cake), we weren't even offered coffee! Shame!

Waiter was not too friendly filet mignon was over cooked and not a good cut Lobster had a surcharge which is fine, but then they snuck in shrimp in the stuffing Vallet guy kept the key in his pocket, had to retuned (pay double the toll) I don’t remember this place being so bad

My husband’s surprise birthday party was just that, a surprise! Everyone invited enjoyed themselves immensely. The food was amazing. The service stellar. Thank you Carlos, along with the other service workers for overseeing our tables. A success.

I use to come to Sammy's back in the day when that place took a while to get in @ least a hr without reservations. Things have changed. The food was tasteless. Nothing except the drinks was good. I am sorry to say i am never coming back.

We were seated 30 min after our reservation time. The place totally packed. The food was average. Really expensive even though the portions are enormous. It's time to expand the size due to overcrowding.

I haven't been to Sammy's in almost 10 years. After a very mediocre experience at The Crab Shanty, I was in the market to find another place to have fried red snapper. The price here for one is $40. For that price I was expecting a huge fish. I received a medium sized one. The fish was heavily breaded so that took away from the taste of the snapper. It was oozing with oil which I noticed when I flipped it over. There was nothing underneath like a lettuce leaf to absorb it. The taste was mediocre at best. Wants the fresh, fishy taste I was expecting. I guess the hunt continues for the perfect red snapper.

New Year’s Eve dinner. I had my favorite dish shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and pasta in garlic sauce. Delicious 😋. My family had a great time spending New Years 2020 and the staff was very busy on top of that they had the best service as always. Love Sammy’s ♥️😊

The experience for my family and I was just good. The waitress Adi was sweet, helpful, and very informative. At one point the manager came around and ask how was everything and was also very sweet. The only complaint I have is with the hostess Tiffany. She is extremely dismissive and rude. As I could understand that it is very flustering dealing with a influx of customers and multiple people asking you questions, I did not appreciate how she continuously dismissed us when we asked about our reservation, and was very rude. She needs to be retrained as she is front of house and sets the tone for customers experience. Apparently it doesn’t make a difference whether or not you make a reservation on open table or not. The wait was not long fortunately but the hostess left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sammy's is and has been a stapled seafood location in City Island. The food and atmosphere were both good and "our" server was very helpful, kind and extremely polite during my dining experience. Yes - I would return to Sammy's and also recommend Sammy's Fish Box to a friend.

The food was lavish and delicious. On a holiday with huge crowds the service was great, polite, courteous and attentive. Parking was easy and convenient. When you go to Sammy's, make sure your stomach is nearly empty because the food comes in abundance.

Sammy's is always amazing. I was sat by the doors to the kitchen and there's also a table where they pack customers left over. I would not sit there again. Too much traffic. But other than the place where I was sat, everything was awesome.
