Great place and love the patio for lunch and inside for dinner. Service is excellent. I would go back next week again.
We very much enjoyed Sammy G’s on our last evening in Palm Springs. The service was great. We tried the wine, appetizer, and entree recommended by our waitress, Lacy and enjoyed everything. She was helpful, sincere, and attentive. The night got a little chilly and we welcomed the outdoor heaters. The restaurant is lovely and a perfect location for browsing the shops and the art booths on Thursday night.
Exceptional service, food, ambience and value.
I left $0.00 for a no tip. Waiter couldn’t have been worse. Will not go back.
Food was subpar. Not sure arboreal rice was used for risotto- tasted like regular rice. Only flavor was salt- a ton of it. This is not an authentic Italian restaurant. I’ve had better Cesar salads in airports
Was not as good an experience as on previous visits. Very noisy. The veal was average, and the pizza was dry.
This was one of the WORST dining experiences ever.
The service was terrible - it took 40 minutes for the appetizer to arrive and it was only a salad. The main course was 30 minutes later and it was was wrong - we had to send it back. When the food arrived the second time it looked like they reheated the dishes and they had been laying in a warmer.
We left and had a wonderful meal across the street.
Avoid this restaurant.
Sammy G's Tuscan Grill always delivers a great dining experience...that's why I often drive over 100 miles one way to dine there.
We had requested a table on the patio. We were squat on to the upper patio in a corner with no views of anything. The primavera was decent. 2 people ordered the same pizza and the waitress did not say that the pizza was full size so they could split one. The service was almost non-existent and, as we were in a corner, it was probably hard to even see us. Not impressed all around.
we have been before. Disappointing service level and the gnocchi dish was inediblae. Not going again...thanks
— The restaurant mishandled our reservation. Instead of being seated outside on the patio as requested we were placed by the kitchen. We asked to be moved to a quieter area and were denied.
— The waiter was truly one of the worst I have ever experienced in Palm Springs. He shouted over the table to take our orders and did not ask how we wanted our food prepared. We saw him once throughout our 1 1/2 dinner and found him to be both distracted and inattentive.
— The live music was painful. I recommend an Italian playlist at a much quieter level. No one should ever have to raise their voice over a butchered version of “My Way.” Ever.
— Two of the three meals were subpar at best. As full-blooded Italians, we know a good pasta dish when we taste one. Too much sauce and flavorless meatballs killed the dish from the first bite. My tuna was cold and raw. I would have sent it back to the kitchen to have it warmed, however, since we didn’t see our waiter again until he presented us with the check it was a bit too late.
Two seatings came and left before we were served dinner. One of our guests lasagne was cold. Extremely disappointing.
Chopped Salad was amazing. Risotto is not good if you expect authentic Italian. Probably acceptable to most Americans
Outdoor patio lights and fountain nice... food taste was just Ok... served a little cool. Maybe will try again, but not top of Palm Springs list.
The hostess called me the afternoon of our reservation to ask our seating preference. Our table on the upper deck was ready when we arrived. The wait staff were all very courteous. The food was outstanding. My dish, chicken carbonara, was piping hot and delicious with a side of perfectly cooked asparagus and scalloped potatoes. Delish! And, it's all priced reasonably for a downtown restaurant in a prime location.
Some of us are small eaters and, while I likes my dish, I could only eat about 1/3 of it. To much pasta!
Fun environment. The fire pit table was awesome. Service was great and yummy
Great night with my family-Jess was a great waitress and everything was awesome!!
Outstanding dinner at Sammy G’s. My wife and I each ordered the Lobster Bisque soup. It was rich and flavorful with bits of lobster. Awesome! I had the shrimp and scallops scampi over linguini. My wife had the mussels with clams over linguini in tomato broth. Both entrees were outstanding and very filling. Then at the end of the meal our server brought over amé reto with biscotti’s. Oh my that was yummy. We also had a nice bottle of Chardonnay wine. Wow what a great meal that was!!! 😍
The service that night was slow but the meal made up for it. We will definitely come back again.
We sat out in the open area. It was a bit cool and the restaurant provided blankets and heaters and we were very comfortable. The food was excellent...probably the best lasagna ever. We will definitely return.
Four 60-somethings chose this restaurant on a vacation to Palm Springs, in need of a good Italian fix plus casual/pretty outdoor patio dining. Our waitstaff was good and personable, the prices were reasonable, and the food was very good. Portions were full-size. We ordered the Chicken Salvatore and a couple of other dishes. All were well-prepared and tasty. There is a cozy bar with live music that we listened to for a short time. Love the location tucked into a private area on the main drive.
Our server was very personable
We had a wonderful meal! My husband got the special which was a cioppino chock full of seafood and I️ got the mushroom ravioli. Both delicious! The ambience was wonderful. We ate on the upper patio with well spaced heaters. They also gave us the option of a blanket to put over my bare legs on a cool night. Our server (Fernando?) was very attentive and cheerful. At the end of the meal, he brought us complimentary biscotti and amaretto. A perfect ending to a great meal! Thank you!
We enjoyed our evening meal here very much and were very well looked after.
Everything was wonderful We had not dined here before. Service Great. Good Food.
Once the Band started playing, it was time to leave. They were very loud. Good Music
but LOUD! We will come Back for Dinner.
The food was absolutely amazing and the portions were large! We sat outside with a heater on a cooler evening and it was beautiful. The service was really great, they even paid special attention to our kid's experiences!
The atmosphere on the patio was outstanding. Very romantic and beautiful. The service was very rushed, but good enough. The food was delicious. Wish we could have heard the singer out on the patio but we could not.
Enjoyable patio but heater ran out of gas and not replaced. Also a reservation was made and table was not set up and we had to wait while dishes, glasses and flatware were provided.
I was in Palm Springs for 8 days. We enjoyed this restaurant so much we returned for another meal a few days later. Best spaghetti and meatballs I have ever had. Food was great. Service was great. Location was great. Atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely return the next time I'm in Palm Springs.
Sammy G's is located in the middle of downtown Palm Springs. The service is decent and the food is really good. A nice selection of pasta and fish is available. Our Albanian wait named Julian was really polite and personable. The appearance of the restaurant was also attractive
The Tuscan Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Palm Springs. We book it right away when we arrive. The atmosphere is romantic, the food is exceptional and the service is extraordinary!
Have always thought of this as one of my favorites.......not any more.....took two friends for their first time, and I had raved about it to them .....I was so embarrassed ........
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Started with cocktails at the bar. Our table was ready at the time of our reservation. Nice variety of menu selections. Meals of minestrone soup, antipasto salad, shrimp risotto, and eggplant parmesan were delicious, and the service was attentive but not overbearing. Complimentary Amaretto and biscotti were a nice touch to finish the meal.
Made an online reservation the morning of our date.
Arrived and were seated in an uncomfortable corner booth like seat despite walking past an open table for two.
Waiter had zero personality. Took our drink order plus two waters and left Another server poured our waters. After about five minutes waiter appeared at an adjacent table. Turned towards us and my date said "There you are" in a normal tone.
He walks over, without our drinks, and states that no one wanted to serve our table, implying that he was stuck with us and if this attitude continued we would be asked to leave.
I'm not a local, my date is. She actually recommended we eat there. They seem to have an issue with her I don't know of.
Being chided by the waiter was way out of line in my opinion. If staff has a problem with a customer they need to notify a manager and have it dealt with discreetly.
It was embarrassing to be talked down to like that. We did nothing to deserve that sort of treatment.
We got up and left and had a great time at Woody's , down the street. Better atmosphere, great service and even chatted with the owner who knows how to treat his clientele.
Will not give Sammy G's another look.
One of our favorites in Palm Springs!! Comfortable place and tasty favorite Italian dishes! We love Randy’ singing!!
Not the same as last year, food was sub par . The waiter, servers were great but they don’t cook
Enjoy the Resturant greatly. Eggplant parm was superb and service was better than that. Our romaine wedge was delicious.
Fantastic Italian food. Freshly prepared food, and generous portions. The outside patio is beautiful at night. The service is exceptional. The owner was onsite and she visited our table and was a pleasure to talk with. This is a top-notch restaurant and pride of ownership and dedicated staff make this a place I will be visiting as often as I get to Palm Springs.
Waiter was very slow for a busy night. We had to ask waiters for things we needed.
Usually he is better as we have had him before.
Visiting Palm Springs and decided to try Sammy G's. We were a bit disappointed. The service was mediocre. We had to wait a real long time between dinner and dessert which is always a pet peeve of mine. Meals of chicken Marsala were average. THere was not much flavor of Marsala in meal. Chicken Picatta was fine but very lemony. I think there are other places to try when in Palm Springs.
