We hadn't been to this restaurant in awhile. Glad we tried it again and we'll go back! The food was excellent and the service was good too. I had the Moqueca and my husband had Espetinhos (with grilled beef). Nice that it's so casual. Family owned.
The food at the restaurant was fantastic and the wait staff was very attentive and pleasant. My only comment would be that OpenTable did not show any reservations available until 6:45 p.m. and there were open tables available at earlier tines.
We would have preferred to eat at 6 pm.
Met my family there for our Easter get together. The menu was perfect for those in our party with special diets. The food was FABULOUS and interesting wine list. We all agreed that we will be coming back for more!
Been there several times, love the rice and vegetable entrees. Seasoned so tastefully, its not just rice and vegetables. I want to rush home and recreate it. They finish with pineapple coconut cake(don't miss that), it's extra large, so we can nibble on for a couple days.
Absolutely one of my favorite places, for the expert mix of ingredients, herbs, spices, and that cake. Owner South American, knows his stuff.
We ordered two different paellas and both were very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
The food was very delicious! Well prepared and great portions
amazing food and friendly service...we'll be back!
The food was great and service was wonderful! Family night out to celebrate a birthday. Can’t wait to go back!
As usual the food and service was top notch. It was a bit louder than normal because a large group of people coming from the Children's Theater came in. It is normally an easy place for a conversation at the table. Even with the additional people our server was great and very attentive to not only us, but as I noticed, everyone. Always worth the drive to get there.
The food was absolutely amazing. There were quite a few different options and the service was equally as amazing. They gave us some of their homemade hot sauce and the flavor was exquisite. The atmosphere was very casual, with the staff very attentive.
We had a fantastic dinner here for Valentine's Day! The place was calm, mostly quiet, and the family staff was extremely kind and friendly.
Went to Rio last year and was looking for a nearby spot to relive some of those memories. The food was remarkably authentic to what we encountered on our trip, right down to a favorite desert. The entrees were reasonably priced for the value of what you receive and the flavors were great. Service was friendly and fast. Soda was a little pricey, would be my only caveat, but will definitely come back.
So good! Owner and staff are so personable. They made us feel like we were the only people there even though there was a party of 30 in the restaurant. Loved the food. Good spice level, tasted fresh and authentic. We will be back.
Very good food and attentive service. Very good flavors and seems to be authentic dishes. Description of various food items would help as we do not know Brazilian food very well.
As always, delicious Brasilian comfort food! The pasteis & mandioca delicious, escondidinho de carne seca was awesome, the feijoada delicious, the Amazonas plate slightly spicy & good and the paella de frango tasty. Topped off with Guarana' Antarctica! It wasn't a busy night and since the owner was feeling a bit under the weather, we needed to leave early so he could close early. That was a bummer, but service is generally quite good on normal visit, so this was an anomaly. Hopefully he's feeling better now!
Great food and very friendly service. Really enjoyed our evening!
A great place to go for an extended lunch break. My manager and co worker from Brazil loved the food. I have never been dissapointed anytime I have gone there.
Our first visit to Samba and we were very pleased with the service, atmosphere and especially the food.
Definitely recommend for a little bit of Brasil casual style.
It is a great place to eat , with service from a great family.
This was our second visit to Samba. We met foodie friends from Minneapolis there. The father and son service was warm and friendly. One of our friends has been to Brazil a few times on business and the son was happy to recommend dishes that our friend rememberd. Everyone had a good meal. With appetizers, 4 meals, drinks and tip the bill was around $175; so not a cheap night out but we all plan to come back. Portions are larger so three of us left with food for lunch the next day.
Excellent place to meet and enjoy a great meal. Very authetic Brazillian food, prepared very well and served by the the very friendly owner! I would recommend a visit to Samba! :)
I've been to Samba many times and it never disappoints. The place was pretty quiet on a Tuesday night but the service was great and food was exceptional.
As always, Samba was awesome. Great food and great service from Victor. We took my parents here and they loved it as well. We've had business associated from Brazil in town, took them here and they raved at how authentic it was. Highly recommend.
First time there with a group of 8 people. Promptly prepared a table and seated us. Provided a quick round of drinks and then was very helpful in explaining the different items on the menu. Took quite a while to get the food but was well worth the wait as all eight said they would come again. Great ethnic experience in dining.
We love going to Samba's. Joe and Victor are like family. They always make us
feel special. The service is excellent. We love the Caipernias. We take all our friends
Very authentic dishes from Brazil. Friendly staff. Small grocery area to purchase ethnic ingredients to make the dishes at home.
We love the paella and the owners at Samba. Brought friends who thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and intend to visit again soon for other dishes they thought sounded so good. Great evening!
We celebrated an anniversary at Samba Taste of Brazil. All of us enjoyed it. My paella was excellent. The steak kabobs were amazing, but the chicken not as tasty. Appetizers were very good. Spicy sauce was very popular.
Our service was excellent. Very casual and quaint restaurant. We will definitely go back.
The food and service were perfect. The portions were also spot on. I will go back again, often. Samba is a nice find.
Very bland food, little taste and tough to chew (shredded beef). beans were good.
Ive been here a number of time and have never been disappointed. I have tried several items on the menu and recommend all but especially the paella. Great service, amazing wait staff, clean bathrooms, small grocery store attached for take home items. Nice to see variety in this little gem of a suburb.
What I really liked was how quiet it was and the GREAT gluten -free options! For those who are gluten sensitive this is a great option!!!!
Went to lunch here recently as a celebratory event as we had a team member from work who was going back to school. It took an hour for us to get our food. The place was not packed, so the delay in getting food made no sense. Don't plan on going back
Very good food. Reasonable prices.
Had driven past this restaurant for years but had assumed it was like Fogo de Chao downtown--it isn't, and isn't as expensive and isn't all meat. This was a nice family place, decent specialties done well. We will be back again.
Wonderful family run restaurant. My sister lives short term with a family in Brazil and has stated the food made in this restaurant is authentic. Stree food and home cooked alike. Warm and friendly staff. We have been here several times and the owner always checks on us if nor serving us himself.
We have enjoyed eating at Samba for many years because the food is so good. Their desserts are fantastic. I love the care that this family puts into all of the food and making sure everyone has a good dining experience. Wonderful authentic food.
Went for dinner before a movie. We were greeted nicely and promptly seated. The ambiance is simple and plain. There are many choices on the menu that are representative of meals typically seen in Brazil. Our server was attentive and courteous. Our food was fresh and very tasty. It is certainly worth a trip.
If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg then you should try Samba! Way cheaper than other Brazilian restaurants. Cute location in downtown Hopkins!
The food was cold and very tough, not the least bit tender, must have obtained from a very old cow.
