Samba Brazilian Grill
I think there are still some kinks to work out. We waited a lot in between courses. I requested a little bit of everything from the antipasto section and received a cheese plate. No nuts, no figs, no olives. The soda came out no ice, warm, and flat. The second soda was much better, though.
I would suggest leaving a new meat menu every time a meat order is placed. Your guests don’t work there and can’t remember all of the meats. It was hard to order more meat because the only one thing I could remember was the one thing I had already had. I didn’t want to order all of the meats at once because I wanted them to be hot.
Overall I think the hygiene was good. I would suggest not taking guests glasses for refills, and just bringing them in a new glass.
There was no salad bar due to covid19, but the new arrangements work. You can still get to taste everything you want. It will be served to you rather than self serve. Food was tasty add always. Hosts hospitality was outstanding. The ambiance si serene.
We sat in the corner of the restaurant where the buffet-line used to be at 6:45pm. Obviously I want to give a lower rating because I miss the Gaucho's and the buffet, but that's not Samba's fault. Our [annual] Father's Day dinner was incredible. Huge shout-out to the staff for being awesome, but an even more special shout-out to our server and the chef (I am so sorry I do not remember your names, but you deserve to be mentioned), as they both went above and beyond and made our visit the best experience possible (considering this was our first time out since the quarantine)! See you next year.
The service has changed due to covid. The 1st course is limited, but the portions are ample and can be shared. It's not ideal for warm dishes as they get cold, I preferred to get small portions throughout. The most popular meats are still available, but brought to the table plated instead of in the usual gaucho style. Again, this let's it get cold while you eat. It's stated that the new menu style is to limit contact to the tables, but our water was filled 5 or more times throughout the dinner. The change is understandable, just wish my old Samba was available. Still one of my favorite places to eat.
Awesome restaurant! Amazing food and great service!
There was a private party on the upper level. It was extremely distracting with very loud music that took away from the overall experience. The waitress was super nice and comped us a dessert. The food was very good . The grilled meats were excellent. Other highlights were the Brazilian stew, chicken torta and twice baked potatoes. The specialty cocktails were excellent I would recommend the Pisco sour. We will definitely return.
Bring your appetite! The salad choices are delicious and the constantly arriving meat choices amazing. Highly recommend.
Had a nice dinner at Samba with my boyfriend. Nice dining space - good for a date or with friends or a good sized group - lots of space for long tables. Lighting was ambient and decor was nice. Lots of meat flying around - never had to wait for more to come. The sides/salad bar was pretty good - a lot of veggies and grain salads. What I would have loved some nice home made bread. Not sure that I saw bread at all. But anyway, the meat was good, cooked nicely but in same cases could have used just a little more flavor like garlic. Maybe if one or two of the meats were really spiced up that would have been nice as it got a little boring after a while. That being said, it was all very good and fun with the grouch is coming around with giant meat on skewers. Staff was all very nice. Loved the grilled pineapple coated in cinnamon that also came around to the tables. That was perfect with the pork. And their chimmichurri sauce sauce good on. the beef. A very quick 5 minute walk from the Edgewater Hotel and right adjacent to the little downtown area.
We went on a Monday night so it was nice and quiet. The customer service was good. The food was good too, but not really worth the value for me.
Consistent and great quality. It is always a great time and great ambiance.
Great experience! We will be back to eat again. We had a great time.
It has been several years since we had been to Samba, it is a pricey dinner out. From beginning to end everything was very good. the salad/1st course self serve bar is wonderful. Fresh greens and veggies, along with roasted veggies, soups and other salads. It would be easy to make this the whole meal but you are there for the spit fired meats. I believe there were 3 beef, chicken, lamb, pork tenderloin, sausage and pineapple brought again and again to the table. It was a delicious meal, our water glasses were refilled regularly and our waitress checked in to make sure everything was good. I wish we could afford to go more often.
The restaurant is way too dark, can't see the food we were eating. The salad bar was good, the meat selection was fine, but I got all the well done pieces, and I did not want to ask for more as it would be a waste. It is not the best Brazilian steak house we have been. It would still be fun for first time experience as it is the only game in town. The ambience would probably be more pleasant with more diners. It was a very slow evening. The stage on the side of the dining room needs to be cleaned up. It looks like a storage room for discarded chairs. Not very pleasant to stare at while paying premium price for the meal.
We had reservations for about a week. Drove 2 hours to find out they had a gas leak 2 hours prior and had to close for the night. No call. No accommodations for the next visit. All we got was a sorry.
We had a reservation at 5pm. We arrive and everyone was coming outside. They had a possible gas leak and shutdown. Unfortunate circumstance but this would of been my 2nd time here. Obviously good enough the 1st time to return. Bad scores solely based on situation.
Good for an occasional special celebration. Be prepared to throw down some serious money.
Always a good meal for a fun night out!!
Excellent food and selection. Leave plenty of time to enjoy your meal and company.
We have liked Samba's for the "meat buffet," to opportunity to taste a variety of meat courses. Unfortunately, this night they swapped out the lamb for mustard sirloin. Sirloin is a fantastic cut of beef and sirloin on the menu sounds delicious, until some chef gets "creative" with it. True, if you like mustard (not so much a favorite these days) then you may like this steak. Not us though. A real disappointment.
The pepper flank steak was good, the lemon pepper chicken was also good. Especially if you like pepper. Actually, if you are an eater who tends to put pepper on everything, you would have really enjoyed this meal. It featured pepper throughout.
Except the pork. The pork was absolutely perfect. Cooked to, ok, perfection, and seasoned just enough to open taste buds, the spicing was not at all overpowering so that the rich flavor of the pork came through wonderfully. We each had and enjoyed seconds of the pork.
We will probably go again because we've had excellent experiences, but not before inquiring about the meats on tap and how they will be prepared. Some surprises are good ones. But not this most recent one.
Our anniversary.. server didn’t use best cleanliness.. use hands to put lime in my soda. Didn’t come check in sat with empty glass.. kept coming to see if the check was ready.. first the host was not really dressed like a host representing the grille. Then she couldn’t find my reservation and said she would look into it and then took others back, I sat unsure what was next. We were taken back but just felt like it has really lost it’s special place status with us. We like to come on our anniversary but think maybe it’s time to move on to another restaurant.
Amazing food and wonderful service! We love Samba and come here for all major events.
Great food and food selection with outstanding service.
Overpriced for mediocre food.
Fun to go once to experience the serving style for serious meat lovers. the salad bar items looked good, but were generally tasteless and disappointing.
While I would rate Sambas usually 4.5 stars, the Sunday brunch left alot to be desired. Unfortunately the flank steak was very dry and the ham was not very appealing. We had servers constantly hover over our table (not to be confused with the people carrying the meat options around), and the drink I ordered was sub-par to my previous visits (all I could taste was lime). Will not be going to Sunday brunch again. That being said, going any other day still interests me.
Samba is definitely an experience everyone should try and enjoy! The food was great and the fact that they bring part of the meal to your table is great! We've been here for brunch multiple times and would highly recommend doing so! For the price, it is definitely worth doing so! I would also recommend making reservations as this place can get very busy!
The food was delicious. The salad bar was overwhelming with many wonderful options to choose from. Service at the bar was a bit lacking, but once we managed to get their attention the drinks were great.
Meat was good. Salad bar was okay. Service took awhile. In the end it was good, but I don’t need to go back.
Tried this place out for restaurant week. It was a good value for $35. Salad bar was huge and fresh. Meats were hot, some pieces were very fatty or has gristle. The server came around towards the end of our night asking if we had any special requests for meat. That was really nice! The pineapple is AMAZING!
Attended Samba on a Wednesday evening during #RestaurantWeek. Had 5pm reservations, we were the first ones seated and served. Great experience!
I can't wait to return because it was so awesome ! Highly recommend
I gave the service a fair rating because we had a reservation but still had to wait at least 20 minutes past our reservation time. In addition tables were getting cleaned near us and the windex smell wafted across our table which is unenjoyable. The gauchos were considerate, so I hope the tip is spread to all workers since the server does little but freshen drinks and clear tables.
Everything was excellent. Gauchos brought so much food we had to turn stop and go pedestal over numerous times to catch up. Literally no complaints other than we wish we could have stretched out stomachs further
Great Experience and awesome service! Meat lovers heaven :)
I was really looking forward to eating here for New Years Eve. However, my experience left me unimpressed and less than satisfied.
Our server was very pleasant and was quick to check in with us/ fill drinks. The buffet portion of the meal had multiple delicious options..... however
We hardly ever were serve any of the meat options and waited very long between options. Very disappointed. This was why we came here.
Something I ate made me sick and I was unable to go out to celebrate the new year. Maybe it was a good thing we didn’t get much of the meat.
Well it was obvious that there was not enough help. Some of the chicken and pineapple were burnt. And it appeared that the Groucho were not only serving but also cooking there own meats. The salad bar was awesome!
Never told us that they would not accept the Groupon for the evening
Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and the Groucho’s didn’t stop at your table very often, it was a 2 hour dining experience, we had to wait a long time for a Groucho to offer us meat. The market bar was awesome. Our waitress visited our table once between taking our drink order and taking our money and that was because we waved her down for a dessert menu. The guy filling the water glasses was amazing, I didn’t have an empty glass once!!
We went to celebrate Christmas. The waiter was either super busy or just not around but we barely saw him. The rest of the staff were great! Meats were amazing, buffet was varied and delicious.
We decided to take my son out for his special day out there we haven’t had an a while. Our server was amazing and the people that came around with me was also very nice too. The manager was very kind and was very knowledgeable about the building and about making sure that we were taken care of. We will sure come back like we always have because it’s amazing this food is just amazing. It’s sure a place that you will never be disappointed.
