I met a client here for lunch. We advised our server Amadeo, that we needed time to have an important business discussion. Amadeo was perfect with his timing. He check in with us but did not, in any way, try to rush us. Amadeo, this was greatly appreciated!
The Crabcake appetizer was so delicious that we ordered two.
My client had the lunch menu burger and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had the salmon. It was quite good if just a tad overdone. However, the mushrooms and sautéed spinach really added to the dish. My client and I both agreed that we would be back.
The only real negative was checking in before being seated. This may have been because it was at 11:30 AM, but 3 parties showed up at the same time and they did not appear to be ready. Once again, this is minor and we will be back.
It was my girlfriend Birthday and this place help made it very special. Food was really good and the service was wonderful. We would recommend this place to everyone. And definitely will return soon for more experience. Thank you for the birthday special treats and the accommodation.
The food was as I recall. Service was just a little off because it took about 8-20 minutes before someone came over to take our drink order.
Been there on 4 occasions. Last visit witnessed remodeled dining room less upscale more casual.
Sides were much smaller, with not much variety in main courses.
We enjoyed dinner here on Christmas evening. Great food and superb service!the absolute best steak I've had in a long time.
Breakfast during business trip. Very good and reasonable proce
Not as good as it used to be. The service was somewhat mixed. Our party had two and one was bad and the other was excellent. They must have changed the chef...Not my personal favorite.
This restaurant is within a hotel linked to a convention center. So, the restaurant is either very busy or completely dead, depending on what events are being held concurrently at the convention center. As such, it is difficult to pinpoint what the ambiance will be on any particular day. While I appreciate a more quiet ambiance, it is still disconcerting to eat in a restaurant with a few other patrons, as the entire service staff stands around talking and watching you and your date eat.
With that said, the food is quite good and the service is phenomenal. However, I think there are several other viable restaurant choices in the Schaumburg area that have good food, services and with a more lively and consistent ambiance. Not to mention, this restaurant can be difficult to find since off the beaten path...
We have been there a few times and have never been disappointed!
We told them it was my husbands birthday but they never did anything so that was annoying otherwise it was great
Great food and the service was fantastic
My visit to Sam & Harry's was my first dining experience in Schaumburg. I was there on business in the hotel and the ambience provided a relaxing end to the day. My steak was cooked perfectly and the Yukon mash was phenomenal. I would definitely revisit this location!
The chef over salted all of the food. We ordered lobster bisque and it was really over salted and they ruined the wonderful lobster meat by putting so much salt in the bisque. For an entre I ordered a steak and my wife got the scallops and the beautiful cut of meat was WAY over salted and the chef ruined that as well. The service was excellent and we felt bad mentioning how over salted everything was so we just let it go and will not go back unfortunately
Went for our Anniversary and had a great bottle of wine and a fabulous dinner. We spent the night there and had a great time.
Our meal was excellent. The service was incredible. We felt very special on our anniversary. Complimentary appetizer was provided since we had let them know it was our anniversary in advance. Definitely will return there in the future. Very pleased with our choice of eatery to celebrate our day.
Outstanding everything. Food service and seating. Pricey. But not for the above! Will go back.
Entered a room as the first patron of the evening. Large room felt overwhelming
Service excellent. Food. Delicious
Late Saturday evening reservation. Promptly greeted and seated. Hostess was attentive and service was good. We ordered their meat and cheese board and was a bit disappointed in the serving size. Steak was good, not fantastic, but average. All and all a good experience but I thought it was pricey for the selection and serving size.
EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE! We met for a business meeting. This will be our official meeting restaurant for breakfast and lunch!
Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Food was excellent. Wiine list extensive
I actually hate writing negative reviews. This was once a favorite of my husband and I, but the last time we were there, we knew we'd never be back. We did have an early reservation, but we were the only people in the restaurant for at least 30 minutes. When we left, there were 3 other tables, so if you are looking for somewhere to go where you'll have plenty of privacy, this is the place. The bread on the table was delicious and our server was extremely attentive and nice. I love the decor. My argument is with the price of food. The food was just extremely overpriced and they did not have a great selection. A glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc was easily 40 - 50% higher than what restaurants usually charge. Our dinner was fine, and at a substantially lower cost, it would have been a good value. We were there on a Saturday night, so I'm guessing this restaurant stays open thanks to business people on expense accounts. If you're paying with your own money, look elsewhere.
Nice restaurant. Steaks were delicious, not bad deserts.
"new" menu not as varied as before. missing variety. food not as good.
Chef Andrés customized our dinner to perfection.
More Gluten and Dairy Free menu items would be nice. A little pricey but food was delicious. Overcooked steak arrived at table but server took care of it immediately and correctly cooked steak was out in a short time.
I must be spoiled by Gibson's. This place was picked because it was located in the hotel where our convention was held. I ordered a Caesar Salad, which was pathetic -- no taste, stale croutons and a huge anchovy on top (they should have asked if I wanted that). We both ordered the same steak and my friend's looked like it was twice the size of mine. How rude. The service was okay, but not real efficient at the end. The atmosphere was lovely. I just expected a lot more from the food. The only reason I would go back would be to avoid having to drive anywhere else as the location was great for our purpose. It wasn't horrible; it just wasn't great.
I had Sam and Harry’s for the first time and it was a fantastic dining experience. We were greeted with a smile and were seated right away. Our server was attentive, informative, and generous to our needs and was constantly checking on us. One item we ordered was the 16oz, dry-aged, locally raised ribeye—it was succulent and flavorful. No complaints and will be looking forward to dining here again.
Great food and great service!!
Food was outstanding!!! Service was very good.
Food was good, service was great....very quiet for a Saturday night. Very limited dessert menu.
We had such a great time here! The atmosphere was wonderful! Love the central wine cellar and the ambience is romantic! We were here for a special birthday celebration and even without our asking, they treated us to a personalized birthday cake to conclude the evening! This was our second special birthday that we had chosen to celebrate here and it will not be the last! Not only are the wait staff knowledgeable and the food delicious, but they always go the extra mile and add that extra special touch that makes the evening memorable! We love it here!
My wife and I were there on the Monday before a Wed 4th of July.
There were 3 other occupied tables in the whole place. We were wonderfully taken care of by the bartender Ryan.
Steaks were tasty and done to our liking. The Artisan cheese board was fantastic. Plenty of good wine to choose from at standard steak place mark up.
I definitely would go back again.
My wife and I are regulars here. It is our gem that not many know of. We always have done dinner but did breakfast this time. We went for my wife's birthday and the staff went out of thier way to make the meal special. Very accommodating, warm and friendly. Not to mention the buffet is outstanding and filled with variety. Go here!
We were nearly the only people in this restaurant on a Saturday night. Our waitress was not at all happy that we were there. We both ordered the filet mignon at $36. And that is exactly what we got. No more no less. The only thing that accompanied the filet was half of a garlic clove. For that price, we should have at least received a salad or a side. The experience was okay, at best. The atmosphere was lovely, however that doesn't even come close to making up for everything else this restaurant lacked.
Our dinner was delicious and the service was great!
We used the new Open Table dining rewards (like MCard credit card email)...and the restaurant had to call to figure out how to use it. Thank goodness it worked...it was a great dinner and this made it more affordable....we've only been there for restaurant week previously.
Although I had alerted the restaurant (or merely Open Table?) about the 50 years my wife and I were celebrating, I don't believe they had any idea why we were there. The steak was very good but the asparagus was old and overdone. They did remove that from the bill and because the group next to us was both very loud and drunk, they offered dessert for free.
In general, I should have made reservations in downtown Chicago; at least there I would have felt that the restaurant was worth the trip. This time, however, not really.
Love Sam and Harry’s. Beautiful environment and great food. Had breakfast with 2 friends. Good price, coffee pot at the table, and varied selection. Didn’t want the buffet, but it also looked good. Real expensive for dinner, but nice for drinks on large patio. Surprised service was so slow as the place wasn’t that busy.
Great breakfast buffet. Lot of variety and good quality
Sam and Harry's has outstanding food. They had a grouper special that my Wife and I both had. It was outstanding. It came with cream corn with bacon bits which was outstanding. I had lobster bisque which was very good. My wife had onion soup which she liked very much. It was my Wife's birthday and they gave us a complementary desert. Sam and Harry's is as good or better than all of the major restauarnts in the Schaumburg/Rosemont area.
