always excellent food & wine.the servers are attentive, friendly & knowledgable.
Despite working downtown for almost 15 years, this was our first time visiting Salute and we had a lovely time. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a great attitude. There was a singer there (we went on a Tuesday evening) and that added a nice ambiance. The weather was perfect so there were no issues with dining al fresco. The menu is varied enough to not be boring and offers several vegetarian options. We will go back to try some other dishes.
Been to Salute several times and never was disappointed.
Poor quality ingredients, amateur preparation. Very disappointing considering the cost.
We had an enjoyable time
This is our second time at Salute! We are from CT and visit Sarasota once a year. We decided to come back again because the food was so good the first time. The Branzino is the ONLY Branzino I’ve had in the US that is truly like our experience in Rome. This time we came on a Sunday night and there was a fabulous background entertainment as well that made the experience even more enjoyable - Melanie Masse. The food is top notch, service is great and the atmosphere is very casual and comfortable.
One of our favorite downtown Sarasota restaurants. The Bronzini is excellent.
The Whisky Festival was
We love it here everything great love the staff love the ambience we will be back many many more times
This was our first time at Salute but won't be our last!! Had such a good time. Our waitress Natalia was great very attentive. We all (7 of us) especially loved our cocktails. Food was very good and it was a busy Friday night. They had live music too but it was too loud or distracting. There was indoor and outdoor seating with little white lights around the foliage so pretty. Glad we found this gem!!!
Friends from out of town. Our “go to” restaurant.
Disappointing. Food was pretty good. Service was matter of fact and without friendliness or interest. Server did not check back at all during meal and had to be reminded for additional drinks. Indoor room had no ambiance or decor. Outdoor patio was loud with their music and music from Mattison’s next door. Would not have allowed conversation. Has potential for nicer Italian decor and better service. Return unlikely.
Fresh & fabulous. LOVE broccoli rabe on the menu! Tiramisu one of the best so far in Sarasota...
There was a lot going on downtown that evening we were seated inside which was perfect we got to visit and we could hear each other talk. But outside it look like everybody was having a good time they had music nice couple singing!!I’m sorry I cannot remember our waiter’s name but he was excellent I ordered them the Bolognese sauce and he suggested a different type of noodle to go with it and it was excellent I need to come back and get the dish again bread pudding was very good and my friend enjoyed her meal also I know I will return

Great outdoor dining experience!
Music much too loud. Service was unbelievably slow.
It’s always a pleasure to eat in the lovely outdoor setting and this time I brought my two houseguests for the first time and they were wowed. Our appetizers, the olive trio and a shrimp and calamari over arugula were tasty. The food was delicious and although our red snapper was a bit overcooked, we still ate it all! It was a busy Easter day so I’m sure the restaurant was stretched.
Delicious food but poor service. Would go back again because of the cuisine.
Salute has always been my go-to restaurant , especially before theatre. However, the
"entertainment" they have hired recently is so loud we were unable to complete our dinner in peace. We will have to rethink returning if they insist on this loud, lousy music duo.
attempted to go to Tommy Bahamas, but no room at the inn. So chose Salute, and never looked back. Food was excellent, risotto perfectly prepared. Tuesday night they had live entertainment and the vocalist was remarkable..to top it all off the weather was sublime.
Two of my party were less than satisfied with the veal parmigiana, myself and my other dinner companion enjoyed our meal. The cannolis were delicious.
the server,Mary, was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive & very helpful which all made the 60th anniversary celebration most memorable.Of course the food also contributed to a great meal.
What a wonderful experience! Good, service, and al fresco dining.
We have eaten at Salute several times and it never disappoints. The mussels in white wine were fabulous as was the Saltimbocca. I have attended group luncheons here that were very nice.
A large group was excessively noisy. However food was excellent and we enjoy this restaurant.
Salute did a lovely job again--two orders of Veal Chop which were excellent, one Vegan pasta--always good.
Music was great as always.
Maybe a little too energetic! Very boisterous people at the restaurant this past weekend made the experience not as pleasurable as the food and the service.
As always, excellent cuisine and great service.
I found it very hard to believe that when we asked to change the sauce to a meat sauce on our pasta it was denied. Never been to an Italian restaurant when you couldn’t substitute the sauce. Waitress was New and not very good . Our food sat outside on a tray for 5 min before it as served to our table
Happy table....food was excellent, ambience very nice....we're in Sarasota which leaves little reason to ever complain about anything😎
A pleasant Italian restaurant in downtown Sarasota with a large outdoor dining area. I did not see the inside dining room, but I'm pretty sure they had one. They had live music outside when we were there, and I always love live music. This was a duo that played a wide range of music, took requests, and interacted with the table guests quite a bit, but it was all just a bit too loud for dining. The food and service were very good, with a lot of options on the menu, including most of the traditional Italian dishes. I noticed that they had quite a few veal dishes, and local fish dishes as well. The cheese soufle appetizer (not sure about the name) was delicious.
Gorgeous evening & sat outside but musical entertainment was too loud for conversation.
Calamari fritti was tough, tasteless and had too much breading. Grouper was good, Dover Sole was not filetted well (tiny bones left) and rather tasteless (asked for Dover Sole prepared Meunier Style but was not done. Portions were small for the price paid. Bread basket had inferior "Italian" bread. Corkage fee was $20.00 (a little high in my opinion). Overall dining experience was a yawn (like so many other Sarasota restaurants, unfortunately). On the plus side, tables had white linen tablecloths and napkins.
Love the beef carpaccio appetizer!! I had the bolognese with the pappardelle and it was delicious!! We even had a bottle of Kistler Chardonnay which you don’t see on too many wine lists, so that was a bonus.
We love this restaurant. The outdoor seating area is wonderful, as is the food and service. The only problem is that the live music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation. That's especially true if you're seated near the speakers. When we asked, they did turn it down, and it was much better.,
We had a delightful evening with friends, sitting outside. Roberto, our waiter, was excellent and we really enjoyed the music...it adds another dimension.
A wonderful evening with incredible Italian food served by Wes - excellent waiter! We love Salute,
Always excellent food, superb service @ great wine selection.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal on Saturday night with friends who have lived in this area for many years. They had never had the pleasure of dining at Salute' before. When my friend told me that she really wanted to have grilled Branzino for dinner, it was a no brainer. I told her that I had the perfect restaurant and that that was the only entree I ever ordered here. We both had the Branzino, and as usual, you did not disappoint! Thank you for making me proud to recommend you!
We love to go to Salute on Friday nights -- especially when the weather is nice enough for outdoor dining. The food is very good, the service is professional, and Georgia and Mike -- the musical entertainers most Friday and Saturday nights in season -- are top-notch.
