Happy table....food was excellent, ambience very nice....we're in Sarasota which leaves little reason to ever complain about anything😎
A pleasant Italian restaurant in downtown Sarasota with a large outdoor dining area. I did not see the inside dining room, but I'm pretty sure they had one. They had live music outside when we were there, and I always love live music. This was a duo that played a wide range of music, took requests, and interacted with the table guests quite a bit, but it was all just a bit too loud for dining. The food and service were very good, with a lot of options on the menu, including most of the traditional Italian dishes. I noticed that they had quite a few veal dishes, and local fish dishes as well. The cheese soufle appetizer (not sure about the name) was delicious.
Gorgeous evening & sat outside but musical entertainment was too loud for conversation.
Calamari fritti was tough, tasteless and had too much breading. Grouper was good, Dover Sole was not filetted well (tiny bones left) and rather tasteless (asked for Dover Sole prepared Meunier Style but was not done. Portions were small for the price paid. Bread basket had inferior "Italian" bread. Corkage fee was $20.00 (a little high in my opinion). Overall dining experience was a yawn (like so many other Sarasota restaurants, unfortunately). On the plus side, tables had white linen tablecloths and napkins.
Love the beef carpaccio appetizer!! I had the bolognese with the pappardelle and it was delicious!! We even had a bottle of Kistler Chardonnay which you don’t see on too many wine lists, so that was a bonus.
We love this restaurant. The outdoor seating area is wonderful, as is the food and service. The only problem is that the live music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation. That's especially true if you're seated near the speakers. When we asked, they did turn it down, and it was much better.,
We had a delightful evening with friends, sitting outside. Roberto, our waiter, was excellent and we really enjoyed the music...it adds another dimension.
A wonderful evening with incredible Italian food served by Wes - excellent waiter! We love Salute,
Always excellent food, superb service @ great wine selection.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal on Saturday night with friends who have lived in this area for many years. They had never had the pleasure of dining at Salute' before. When my friend told me that she really wanted to have grilled Branzino for dinner, it was a no brainer. I told her that I had the perfect restaurant and that that was the only entree I ever ordered here. We both had the Branzino, and as usual, you did not disappoint! Thank you for making me proud to recommend you!
We love to go to Salute on Friday nights -- especially when the weather is nice enough for outdoor dining. The food is very good, the service is professional, and Georgia and Mike -- the musical entertainers most Friday and Saturday nights in season -- are top-notch.
Arrived at 5:30 and seated immediately. Doesn’t get crowded until 7:00. Appetizers and drinks
Very good. Got the entrees— all had the grouper with excellent bread and was really good. Our waiter, although very nice, never refilled iced tea for 2 of us. Never did get the correct desserts. Despite this, I would recommend this restaurant and will be back.
We enjoyed our meal among friends and this was our first time at your restaurant. The food was very good and the service as well . We will definitely go back and rcommend to other friends. We sat in the inner/outdoor area as we did not like the idea of eating outside, close to the sidewalk and traffic.
Great food - wonderful service and terrific entertainment
My 'go to' place for any occasion...or no occasion at all!
A lovely evening. New owners/management have improved it. We’ll be back!
Ordered calimari. Rather tough.
Had party of 6. While I waited for group to arrive, went to bar which was empty. Fellow behind bar texting and looking at phone. Then turned back on me and proceeded to fill a bin with sliced fruit back . It was around 3 minutes before another worker advised I was there. Food was good but one guest asked for medium well on filet. Came rare. She sent back and center still rare. I noticed very few tables occupied recently. Not as good as it was. This was my third time here.
Food was great but the service was slow,
There consistently were long waits for food/drinks among may patrons. One couple waited 45 minutes for an olive appetizer and waited 10 more minutes before walking out. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food. It’s a nice place but they need someone to run a tight ship here bc service is everything!
Nice location and ambiance. Good service and fabulous live music. Food was so so. My company had the shrimp special which was over cooked and dry. I took a bite when he mentioned it and it was very over cooked which was a shame as it was an interesting dish. Our starters were good. Buratta for me.
But I would go bs k for the duet. The woman singing was fabulous and the songs chosen were great.
Service was terrible. Our food took over an hour, and then meat was rock hard. Saturday night, don't think the kitchen or staff can handle the number of seats they have. We've been before on a week night - good service and food that time.
Salute' was very busy.
Service was very slow both to get drinks and food.
Waiter didn't have any personality and was hard to call for more water, food status etc.
He seemed overworked - Looks like the place could use more servers
Was good for family getting together with young teens and a grandma
Service little slow but pleasant
They sat us in quietest place in a restaurant that’s noisey outside. Loud music
Food was good and everyone finished all dishes
Good everyday meal not very special
This dining experience was by far the most disappointing experience I have ever had. We came here to celebrate my mother’s 75th birthday and what a mistake with so many quality restaurants in Sarasota. The service was so bad and slow, 25 minutes to get 1 drink. 3 hours for dinner. Wrong orders delivered, my wife ordered Dover sole that was supposed to be deboned tableside, which it was but not correct. The fish had so many bones in it my wife had to stop eating. The manager and owner were not helpful at all. I was told they were busy with people showing up late for reservations! Unreal
It was the worst - waited over an hour for our food at the bar and then everything came at once - appetizer and dinner. Said I was allergic to shrimp and ordered grilled shrimp and grilled calamari and said yo eliminate the shrimp. - said no problem and it appeared. We left and didn’t eat - never been treated so bad and have been there many times. Never again
Their lasagna is delicious. Casual dining on the covered patio, more formal in the indoor dining room. Food is always well prepared.
Excellent food, wine and atmosphere plus the added bonus of great live entertainment. Looking forward to going back very soon.
We all loved our food. From the warm brie and pear appetizer to crisp and fresh salads to each of our different dinners we couldn’t have asked for better food. There was a band named Georgia and Mike the night we were there. They were absolutely fabulous. The waitress was friendly and attentive, as was the manager. We will go back.
Fantastico. Loved it Branzino amazing. Music to loud for conversation my only complaint but will be back
We had reservation for 14th of Feb, we were seated about 20 minutes after the time of our reservation and waited an hour and fifty minutes for our meals. The waitress was nice but nothing else. Would not recommend this place!
Food was excellent.
Valentine’s Day....they added several tables and FOLDING CHAIRS outside. Service was very slow. Sides came at the end of our meal. Server couldn’t find wine glasses. No knife for the veal chop. Server got the check wrong and couldn’t fix it. Manager couldn’t come to our table. Server told us “just don’t leave me a tip”.
We went Valentine's day and was disappointed the restaurant did not have their full menu available. Restaurant was very busy and appeared not to have enough help to handle the crowd. The waiter did his best, however, his best was hardly adequate.
Valentine's dinner was very good but the service was a little slow. I don't think they had the staff to handle the amount of patrons. My initial drink order took a while and the draft beer was almost room temp. I didn't send it back because I felt bad for our waitress who had to many tables. The food was excellent. I would go back but managers need to staff properly.
Valentine's day: we waited 55 min and still had not received ordered cocktails. We left after another table said they waited 90 minutes for food.
Food was excellent. Our server Christina was wonderful, although clearly overburdened. It seems to me if a restaurant is going to expand seating for an occasion (like Valentines Day, for example), staffing should be expanded proportionately. We had to wait far too long for wine glasses to be refilled and to get our bill.
Hot food served luke warm. Cold food served warm. Over priced.
