Salute E Vita Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
This is the 2nd time we have been to this restaurant when they have been hosting a large party (more than 100 people) in the restaurant at the same time. We had to park a 1/4 mile away and walk. No room at the bar. Noise level extremely loud. People just wandering around and leaning against our table while we ate. We used to like this restaurant very much, but probably will not return.
This was my first time going to dinner at this restaurant for my birthday after hearing about it for a long time. Our server was very prompt and sweet. Answered all questions which we didn’t had many. Food was very delicious and fresh. I’ll certainly go there again soon.
I've been here before, but our last trip, for our anniversary, was sort of just so-so. Our reservation was for a Wednesday night at 8:15, because that was what was available to us, so I took it. This place is nice, and we like it because we are local, but it seemed like no secret at all that they were pretty much trying to rush us out of there. The person clearing the table literally almost took the fork right out of my hand. Having been a server, I know that you want to clear people's tables, but he was really rushing and bustling about (our server was a different person, this guy was just taking our plates and locking stuff down), they were locking doors around us and turning lights off and it seemed super obvious. We didn't even stay late...we couldn't since we felt ushered out so quickly. We were there for probably 45 minutes start to finish. I may give this place another try, but I won't do a special occasion dinner here again. I can't stop thinking about how they virtually steamrolled us out of there. It really put a damper on the evening.
This restaurant is in a wonderful location overlooking the water. The atmosphere was friendly and happy - everyone was having a great time. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the wait staff were attentive and helpful. We had an altogether very enjoyable evening - will return again. On the night we were there the owner was donating 100% of her night's takings to the Santa Rosa & Napa fire fund - she is a very generous and caring person - a great asset to the community.
This is a popular spot that is close to the Richmond marina and the Rosie the Riveter museum. Be sure to make a reservation, even for lunch on a weekday afternoon. The food is good; the service can be iffy if the restaurant is crowded. Parking is free. The owner is gracious and generous. One caveat: don't try to go here for dinner on Valentine's Day or other typical "going-out-to-dinner" holiday. The wait can be horrendous, even with a reservation. Our experience is to enjoy this special place for lunch.
Lunch here was like going to a friend's house, with all the sorts of minor issues that you tend to overlook from your friends. Uneven cooking, inconsistent flavors, thin soup . . . it doesn't matter when you're at home or with people you like. It's a bit different when you're spending nearly $100 on a fancy birthday lunch. Nothing was terrible, and the view is terrific. I won't be back, regardless.
I love dining at this restaurant , usually the meal and the service is great but yesterday was the very first time, I would say in about 5 years that I was disappointed in the service and meal.
I will not let this one experience deter me. I will give it 2 - 3 more times before I will make a final decision.
Everyone has off days and this just could have been one of those days.
Celebrated by 49th bday with my wife and my parents. Food was excellent! Was a little loud, but nothing over the top. Our waiter was a little inattentive, but overall service of the staff was very good. The hostess was very pleasant, checked in on us and thanked us for celebrating my bday with them. The owner of the restaurant is very philanthropic and does a lot for the community. Nice little gem in Richmond!
Food was tasty, good size portions, good value. Two of us had the veal marsala with vegetables, one veal picatta & one pork chop. Although it was all good, my veal was just a little bit dry--maybe overcooked, but not anything to mention. Corkage is $20. per bottle, and we had 2, so that brought our bill up a bit. Beautiful view by the window and excellent service. Would definitely return.
At Salute I enjoy the exceptional service a great Italian restaurant is supposed to have. The waiter speaks Italian and makes you feel like a million bucks. It's the right place if you wanna impress your date in an old fashioned way. The food is always top notch. The view is most spectacular!Salute is the whole package. Go there
This is our annual must. We park our boat in the harbor for a month every year to enjoy sailing on the Bay. Every year we plan a night at Salute as a treat and memory for our trip. It is a bit pricey but we plan for that. The bartender is the same and always knows our name!! Thank you Gone and all the staff at Salute for making this year's visit another great memory. We will see you next year!!!
We recently had our 20th anniversary party at Salute. Jamie did a wonderful job helping us plan the event and it went off without a hitch - from the morning coffee and pastry service to the dinner on the enclosed patio! Myriah our lead server did a superb job keeping our group of 25 well cared for. Everyone had a great time! We continue to eat at Salute on a monthly basis and are always pleased with everything!
Salute is one of our favorite restaurants. It has easy parking, beautiful views, delicious food, and fine service. The owner, Menbere Aklilu, has done many wonderful things for our community. She received the Jefferson Award for her outstanding service. We went there to celebrate a family birthday.
We had a wonderful, relaxing lunch with a full view of the waterfront. The owner, Menbe, greeted us at the table like we were old friends. She is such a gracious lady and does wonderful events for our community. We love supporting her restaurant! The food was delicious and plentiful. We had five women at the table and lingered to chat. We never felt rushed to leave. It was delightful.
I have been here many times. Sat for an hour, yes hour before food, no service for first 20, yes 20 minutes, no water, nothing! Order taken 30 minutes after arrival, meals delivered 1 hour later. Offering deserts as apology does not cut it. Requested birthday candle, nope! When food delivered, delivered 3 hot meals then the 4th came 5 minutes later! Ashame, I had bragged about this and the owner. Never again!
We loved having dinner in this beautifully restored 100-year old Cape Cod style Victorian building, with a romantic view of the marina at sunset! The food was delicious; and how wonderful to support a company that cares so much and gives so much back to the community!
Excellent experience, we were celebrating 3 birthdays and a promotion. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing.. the food was perfect. Although there were no window tables available, they gave us the option to wait or be seated at a table with a partial view.
I asked for a quiet table, and we were seated in the enclosed patio all by ourselves with heaters to keep us warm. They were very accommodating for our hearing disabilities and we enjoyed the dinner. Needed salt on the risotto, the salata was excellent, as were the sea scallops.
