Have been here several times and always enjoy it. A destination for special occasion dinners or brunches. Never disappointed.
salute E Vita Ristorante is an elegant, scenic restaurant. The food is delicious. The service is outstanding. Highly recommended for fine dining in a cozy environment.
This place is great. The service and food are top-notch. The view of the marina is so lovely. It is not noisy so you can talk, but it is at the same time lively. Great place.
Good food+good prices= a good time had by all. There was bread and there was water and some other things so I have to keep typing til I am past the 50 character mark.
Took my wife out for Valentines day. First time here, but will definitely come back. Great ambience, great service , great views and great food!
It was okay, but not outstanding. We were there on Valentine's, an extremely busy night for this restaurant. The staff worked very hard and we were waited on promptly; our food came faster than expected. We did feel rushed, so it was not as relaxed an occasion as it could have been.
The food itself was adequate, but nothing special. Ravioli was tasteless, lamb chops were quite chewy. Maybe the kitchen staff was not up to such a busy night.
The food is very hit and miss. Great view, service was solid.
Food was great, as always. Two of us had a salmon salad and it was just perfectly grilled.
Service was terrific, too!
And the view, WOW!
I have dined at Salute very often over the years having known previous ownership as well as the current one well. I'm a big supporter of the restaurant normally but was enormously disappointed on this occasion. We had an 8PM reservatioin and admittedly arrived 10-15 minutes late. The reception station was unoccupied but diners remained from earlier seatings. I walked into the bar to find a receptionist and then into the dining rooms. I was not able to locate (her). Finally I took two menus and seated the two of us in one of the dining rooms. Finally a server appeared and asked if we could be helped. I explained to him all of the above. He excused himself and shortly a woman approached and asked if she could be of help. I again explained. She became belligerent and said that because we were late we could not sit in the dinning room but she would seat us in the bar. I explained that we were late due to a late arriving flight at the Oakland airport. I also reminded her that she was not at her station when we arrived. "you were late" was her reply. Finally, Carlos, a long time employee and server intervened and asked where we would like to be seated and seated us at our chosen location. Meanwhile the receptionist sat at a nearby table eating her dinner. I reminded her on the way out of her less than appropriate (lack of) greeting. Her standard response was once again "you were late" and I had to be at another station (eating?). This individual is not doing Salute's reputation well. (the meal was, as always, very good and the ambiance is extraordinary on the bay in the city of Richmond.
We live close to Salute and have been 4 times now and it never seems to get any better.
Food is OK but not up to the price point. View and ambience are great, decor is great,
but when the service and food are mediocre it brings everything down.
We have gone to Salute many times, mostly for special occasions. The homemade pasta and fresh seafood is always delicious. The waterfront view is spectacular for sunsets, and is very romantic. Happy Hour at the bar is a great value. Membe, the owner, is a wonderful person who truly cares about giving back to the community.
Very pleasant spot for lunch. Simple but good Italian dishes. Excellent cocktails. Very good service. Desserts were mediocre.
We haven't been here for years, when our niece came to town and it was especially warm, we wanted a place on the water. This restaurant is at the Marina and it was lovely - although they needed to wash some of the windows. We ordered a pizza, caesar salad, fish and shrimp - we all turned to each other and said "that was good". The dessert cart is a great feature and the Creme Brulee was good. There aren't that many good Italian restaurants near us and this one is worth another visit.
Good but expensive lunch.
We were marking our friends’ 50th wedding anniversary and we all enjoyed the dinner very much. The food, staff, service, and the room were very pleasing.
