Salute E Vita, remains a home away from home for all lovers of food, art, wine, friends and most of all family, which is who we consider everyone dining with us to be. Our house made desserts, risottos, soups, pasta sauces and salad dressings are created daily. We are best known for traditional homemade Italian fare with fresh and delicious California cuisine. Whether you are in the mood for pasta or a magnificent entrée salad, fresh seafood or steak, you’ll find it here in our 100-year old Cape Cod Victorian that overlooks the marina waterfront with an elegant and welcoming fireplace dining room, an indoor veranda with stunning views of San Francisco or on our outdoor patio overlooking the Bay. We showed up 30 minutes late on a Saturday night and the hostess made me feel as if I was right on time...despite the place being pretty full. The special seafood Crepelle was amazing. Loved it! My son thought the spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs had the best meatballs he'd ever tried. Two members of our party got the Chicken Calzone, and both were disappointed. Service was excellent. Wine list was adequate to good. I would very much recommend this restaurant to others.
We love Saluté E Vita and often recommend it to friends. Our small round table, in the bar area, was perfect for a leisurely lunch for 4. It was quiet enough. The service was really nice, but not overly intrusive. The server was patient with our endless questions and special requests. And the food was really good, although not perfect. My beet ravioli was rich and delicious, but the salad I shared with my brother was skimpy and underdressed. My brother pronounced his pasta "main" as 5-star. But our tiramisu was underwhelming. Even with the few misses, I won't hesitate to return.
Maybe because it was New Year's Eve, but menu was limited and uninspired: basically mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables with your choice of grilled meat or fish, roasted chicken topped with cheese, and a few pastas. The food itself was well prepared, but it was the kind of food that, relative to say Chez Panisse, does not take much skill to prepare.
Actually, I remembered something & learned something that made me come back here and change my rating for service. We were 4 people, but only my wife and I had wine. So when the bill came, we told them to split it in half and then charge us an extra $50 from the total bill. But first they gave us someone else's bill, then they charged us an extra $100 of the total, and today I learned that they charged our friends' credit card twice, once for each amount. I'm still waiting to contact my bank to see if they also charged my credit card too. IMHO, this sort of stupidity only wastes the customer's time and should never happen.
We were very disappointed, as we have come there for several years.
I had dined at this restaurant several times before and had been quite pleased with the food and the service. On the positive side: The ambiance and the view are marvelous. The hosts were very polite, welcoming, pleasant. However, the food and the service were not good this time.
A friend and I had dinner there on Christmas this year (as we had on several previous years) and were very disappointed. The waiter who helped us select a wine didn't listen to us respectfully and was pushy and almost rude. The salad was fine, but the entrees were quite poor. The waiter had to be reminded several times to bring us extra lemon for the fish entree. One of the waitpersons kept trying to take a plate away when we weren't finished. The prawns were too hard and tasteless--maybe undercooked? The crab-filled ravioli with shrimp was mediocre. We were very disappointed to spend so much money for such a dissatisfying meal.
This restaurant has a great view of the marina, and parking is easy. After that, I would never recommend going there on a holiday like Christmas, we were seated near an exterior door and everytime they opened it we got a blast of freezing cold air from the Bay.
The food was just OK, and the service was mediocre at best. Certainly not worth the markup menu for this holiday.
Our family came here for the first time as this was one restaurant that was open for Christmas. The view was beautiful, the service from Monty was excellent, and the food delicious. We each had something different (T-bone steak, swordfish, lamb shanks, risotto, garden salad with pears & walnuts), and we all cleaned our plates. For dessert we had creme brulee and profiterole. We will definitely come back here.
This restaurant is distinguished by the owner's attention to detail, from the wait staff appearance and demeanor to the food preparation and service. The bar is very good and the staff friendly enough to remember a regular's name. The chef quietly prepares excellent meals, and the view of the marina and San Francisco skyline are superb; the overall atmosphere is well worth a visit.
The owner is something of a local celebrity by hosting and supporting fundraising for needy causes, and is well known for giving back to the community.
The ambience and food were amazing! We ordered seafood risotto and gnocchi and shared a salad. Generous helpings, beautiful presentations of food, fresh tasting and fresh ingredients and light hand speak for themselves.
Can’t wait to return for another occasion.
Restaurant is excellent on all levels. It's friendly and upbeat. The food is traditional Italian with a bit of a twist. Everything is fresh and flavors meld well together. The Tiramisu is one of the best I've tasted... even against those in Italy. The location at the marina is relaxing and peaceful. Walking the trail before or after is a added benefit. Go for the food, spend the afternoon.
Reunion, service was excellent thank you. The only thing was the sauce hollandaise wasn’t a success. Otherwise the place is wonderful and the owner visited us more about than once, Monbe (sorry for spelling) is a warm and inviting person and makes incredible things happen in the local community. What a wonderful person and place !
A good menu of traditional dishes and international options. Extensive wine list but a bit pricey. The view and table arrangements are exceptional. The service attentive and unhurried. One of it not the best Bay view restaurants in the San Francisco/East Bay area.
First time experience after hearing great reviews from regular customers for a long time.
Owner has a great vibe from all the community work that she organizes. Their annual event was wrapping up as we arrived for our reservations.
My family and I had a great thanksgiving dinner.
We enjoyed all of our dishes, had great service from an experienced staff. Great waiter. We were all very happy especially my sister who had happy birthday sung to her by staff and a room full of diners. We’ll be back again and again.

Menbe, the owner, treats everyone like family and runs a beautiful restaurant. The extra touches - special candles on group tables, roses on the stairs, create a loving atmosphere. The service is fabulous and the food delicious. Wonderful Italian dining in Pt. Richmond.
This is the 2nd time we have been to this restaurant when they have been hosting a large party (more than 100 people) in the restaurant at the same time. We had to park a 1/4 mile away and walk. No room at the bar. Noise level extremely loud. People just wandering around and leaning against our table while we ate. We used to like this restaurant very much, but probably will not return.
This was my first time going to dinner at this restaurant for my birthday after hearing about it for a long time. Our server was very prompt and sweet. Answered all questions which we didn’t had many. Food was very delicious and fresh. I’ll certainly go there again soon.
I've been here before, but our last trip, for our anniversary, was sort of just so-so. Our reservation was for a Wednesday night at 8:15, because that was what was available to us, so I took it. This place is nice, and we like it because we are local, but it seemed like no secret at all that they were pretty much trying to rush us out of there. The person clearing the table literally almost took the fork right out of my hand. Having been a server, I know that you want to clear people's tables, but he was really rushing and bustling about (our server was a different person, this guy was just taking our plates and locking stuff down), they were locking doors around us and turning lights off and it seemed super obvious. We didn't even stay late...we couldn't since we felt ushered out so quickly. We were there for probably 45 minutes start to finish. I may give this place another try, but I won't do a special occasion dinner here again. I can't stop thinking about how they virtually steamrolled us out of there. It really put a damper on the evening.
