I've been going to salumeria rosi for about 10 years now and it refreshing to find a well-crafted and well-executed menu of Italian crowd-pleasers.
My favorite restaurant in New York. Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
We wanted to like it. The staff was very accommodating. The menu looked good. We were disappointed that several of the dishes were bland. We didn’t order any of the meats which might have been a better choice.
Our neighborhood favorite. Excellent food and exceptional service. Where we always take visiting family and friends.
Waited 45 min after our reservation time, but food was good
Excellent food and atmosphere.
We were here to celebrate and birthday. It was great, They never rush you, the food is delicious, and atmosphere although sometimes noisy, is very cozy
Salumeria Rosi has very good food and not so good food. Avoid the pork belly which is just slices of nauseating fat. Sausages are good as are pastas etc. Also service is hit and miss. One waiter great. Another cold, transactional and easily annoyed and irritable. So if you navigate it well you can have a good meal and if not an unpleasant one.
The thing is you shouldn’t have to be careful about navigating the menu carefully, trying to get a good waiter etc. especially not at these prices.
I am never disappointed at Salumeria Rosi. My daughter and I try to go there at least once a month when we are in NYC. The service is perfect - Cameron anticipated every one of our needs. The salumi plate is incredible. Their pasta dishes are well thought out and executed perfectly. Everything we have eaten has been perfect and we look forward to our next visit!
Really great food and service and wine.
Seating is a bit tight so try to go on off-hours when you'll have more room.
Love the chicken soup! Love having small dishes. They can also be larger portions too.
Just love the place!
Excellent food and service for my husband’s birthday. We will be back!
As always, great food - wonderful service, we’ve had the same server each time we’ve eaten at Salumeria and she’s amazing! She actually remembers what we like to drink and our favorite red wine- sorry, I don’t know her name, but I’ll make a point of getting it next time . One small bone to pick - we were there with friends on Thursday, 1/30 and you didn’t have the daily special, cacio e pepe, apparently the cheese got stuck in Italy?😉so you owe me one!!! Cheers, look forward to seeing you soon
Always a treat to dine here. Joyful!! Our favorite!
Salumeria Rosi has some great food items that can be served in small portions and larger portions. Its a great place for sharing some small plates and tasting a variety of items. It has gotten a bit pricier since my last visit.
Great Neighborly ambiance, welcoming, friendly and exquisite food and wine selection
A great find for a weekend brunch in the Upper West Side. Excellent service and food; original take on eggs and brunch menu. Everything tasted fresh and service was courteous and attentive. Dinner menu looks good as well and worth another visit.
Unpretentious bistro-like atmosphere with great food. Very large portions for assortment of meats and special beet salad. All was eclipsed, however, by the Friday night special of meatballs on polenta which was not large, but wonderful. Great wait staff and would highly recommend.
The food and atmosphere made my first date amazing.
Fate met us at this restaurant, definitely coming again
As close as you can come to a real Italian (i.e. in Italy) restaurant on the Upper West Side. Very well prepared, high quality food. The portions are the size of what you might expect in Italy, not the ridiculously large portions common in restaurants in the US. Unfortunately, the Italian sized portions don't come with Italian level prices.
We have eaten here several times. Authentic Italian. Consistently superb. Friendly and efficient staff. Always a fish option and mussels along with veggie-based choices.
Salumeria Rosi continues to be our favorite restaurant in New York City. The delicious food, the incredible ambience, the romantic vibe and service so good that you leave there feeling like royalty. We love ordering the small plates so that we can share lots of different specialties. The best!
Great dishes and wine list
Salumeria Rosi is a ‘NO HOSPITALITY’ Restaurant. I had been dining at Rosi many times since its opening when I had lived in Upper West Side. On 1/10, I had extremely bad experience at Rosi, when I dined with my friend. In less than 2 hours after being seated, the manager strongly asked us to move to the bar for our wine (we ordered a bottle of red wine), as we almost finished our food. Very rude request for their guests who had arrived 45 minutes earlier than their reservation time. Be prepared when you are faced with such an awkward situation. Otherwise, you would have a very bad feeling after enjoying food and drinks. I would not recommend ‘NO HOSPITALITY’ Rosi anymore.
We love going before shoes at the Beacon.
I found the pastas and risotto to be good but slightly overcooked this time which is unusual. They have to pay attention to the details as this is what makes them specia in the first place
We always have a great time here. We went for brunch and everyone’s food was great (I did the bruschetta special), as well as the burrata we all split. Great drinks and really great service.
We were in the city with our kids for the holidays. A friend suggested we try this restaurant. It’s a little hole in the wall and is absolutely delicious! The gnocchi were off the charts, super soft. The breakfast and arugula salad delicious! We loved everything!
Ci siamo cascati. Stare alla larga.
When you enter you see a deli/butcher counter and a kitchen surrounded be tables. The food was great. Appetizers of roasted peppers with anchovy and prosciutto delightful. Main of red snapper and skirt steak superb. Due to the early New Years Eve performance at the Met we didn't stay for desert. But next time, we will be sure to stay until the end.
Everything, as ever, was superb! Can’t wait to go back!!!!! Happy New Year!!!! We love you guys!!!! 😘
We love coming here prior to going to a show at the Beacon Theater! Delicious food, friendly staff, good ambience.
Lovely place. I had a nice dinner. Will return.
The hospitality, food, wine, ambience - everything was superb!!!!! We love you!!!! 😘❤️
Nicole is the best
Place is a little tight but what a wonderful dining experience!
Service timing and food knowledge was perfect. Thank you for a great evening.
The food was delicious
Service attentive but not intrusive
Tight seating but it didn’t at all affect the positive experience- oddly enough we still felt like we had our own private table!
Excellent cured meat and cheese selection. Good pasta menu and nice salads. Service was off. They had one guy working the entire dining room w one other person helping. They brought out three dishes and our fourth diner had to wait ten to fifteen minutes to get his food. When I asked the waiter why a simple dish of arugula and bresaola wouldn’t be ready with the pastas he said the cud’s were working on “catering” orders. Total BS.
If you’ve got limited time don’t bother with this place. Everything takes forever.
