We love the Salty Sow and have been eating there for about 2 years. The service and food are fantastic. On Saturday we had Jessica as our server and she was awesome... we will be back again soon.
French Dip sandwich was delicious. Loved the fried green tomatoes appetizer too!
We got there about 30 minutes before the Happy Hour was over, so it was a nice surprise to have some cocktails at the Happy Hour pricing. The service was a little on the slow side, but overall it was a service. This was not our first visit. We've always enjoyed the atmosphere and food.
It’s a cute restaurant and a fun menu. But the service was lacking
As always, Michael's service is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE THE RESTAURANT. BEEN THERE MANY TIMES AND HAVE NEVER
HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE.
Excellent food, very pleasant atmosphere, reasonable noise level, spotty service (no help with the menu, no drink refills, no water refills) - overall it was fine, but a little attention would have made it excellent. Excellent value.
Nice greeting and accommodating. A bit slow with service. Shouldn’t have taken over 2 hrs for dinner. Afraid to order coffee and dessert. Place was very busy and so understand issues including noise. Maybe carpet underside of tables to help dampen noise level.
Excellent dinner, with a nice dessert, comped. We enjoyed the evening very much. Our dinner was delicious, and waiter was prompt.
Good restaurant, good food, nice service staff. My only complaint are the high top tables they have in some areas. The stools are high but even so the tables are too high. I’m just under 6 ft and the tables are across my chest. Makes eating difficult. Ask for a lower table or booth and you will have a more enjoyable eating experience.
Always can count on a great meal at Salty Sow. Love to take out of town guests here. So many great beers to choose from and always a great selection of entrees.
Sunday brunch used to be $20.00. Now its $24.95 and food portions have gotten smaller. And the variety of food at the brunch does not vary. So it could use some variety. Too many dishes have green chilis. Thought the fried chicken was too dry. At Sunday brunch, the value is no longer good for the price. If I go back fro brunch, it will be awhile.
Food was great until they brought out the main course. My cheese burger was so fatty, I had the chew threw chunks of fat. Definitely have had better quality meat at much cheaper restaurants.
I had a pork porterhouse in chili sauce. Best pork I have ever eaten. My wife had the filet and it was also excellent. Very good food! Highly recommend it!
I hate it when I make a reservation, show up on time and have to wait for a table. Not to worry at the Salty Sow. Place was packed when we got there at 7:00 for our 7PM reservation. A couple of minutes later we were seated. Great job by the hostess.
Tanner our waiter came by promptly to take our drink order and we threw in our app order at the same time. Not a problem.
This was our second time here and the food continues to be exceptional not only in inspired entre's and desserts but also a great variety with something that seems to fit our taste buds no matter what we're in the mood for.
Kudo's to the boys in the kitchen.....turnin' and burnin' with the best of them.
Can't wait for our next trip to Phoenix and our third visit.
We had a wonderful Friday night date at the Salty Sow! If I hadn’t made a reservation through open table, I suspect we would have had a long wait. Popular place for good reason - the food was amazing! The guacamole on the appetizer nachos was delicious, and my salmon was perfectly cooked with a super yummy black eyed pea salad. Hubby was very pleased with his beef and veg dish. If only we had saved room for dessert! Highly recommend.
Very good food & drink at reasonable prices but very very loud! Great service from Tanner!
Salty is a favorite... always great food. Service was just a little bit off, but not insurmountable. Usually the service is top notch. Still a favorite!!
We had made a reservation for 7:15 and arrived about 10 minutes early. We made the hostess aware of this and she told us our table was being “wiped off”- so as more people arrived and those that were waiting were seated we waited as well - it wasn’t until they approached a diner with a 7:30 reservation that my husband spoke up and said “ hey we were here and have a res at 7:15” that we got a table. I think they either forgot about us or seated someone else they thought was us. Other than that, our experience was great- anxious to go back when it’s warmer to sit outside.
Planned a happy hour for a small group of friends. Overall food and ambiance were great, service on the other hand, was not. Our server seemed a bit off, made comments about what we had ordered, and was slow. This is the first time I have had poor service here, so would definitely still return for another try.
Met friends for dinner. As always the green chili pork stew blew me away. The pork belly was terrific, and our appitizers left us wanting more.
Took me friends who live in Phoenix here for lunch and they loved it
I love salty Sow for dinner and now I get to enjoy dining there for lunch too
Great as always! Unfortunately the price for brunch increased since the last time we visited. However, this is one of our families favorite restaurants throughout the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. While we will return again, it might be a bit less frequent than usual &/or only during your weekly happy hour due to the price increase. Great food, wonderful service as always!
Unique menu with some tasty pork dishes. Good bar area with high-top table seating. Service is generally good, however, issues with the front desk as had a 7:30 reservation and arrived 5 minutes early, told to wait for a table but while waiting to be seated the hostess seated party that came in behind us with an 8:00 reservation? (same size)
My husband is diabetic and had an episode of low blood sugar. We asked the wait staff to please bring us a glass of juice to help him raise his blood sugar. While this was not a life threatening situation our waiter took immediate action as per our request. We were very grateful that our situation was given the attention it deserved. Very considerate , loved being able to make a table reservation. Our table was ready when we arrived the food was excellent. The atmosphere was a bit noisy but tolerable. We will definitely go again and recommend it to friends!
Service started strong, but quickly dwindled. First course never bussed from table. Had to track down server for another beverage after entrees . It became apparent they were not seating his section, which is why our check was dropped with no offer of dessert or coffee.
Enjoyed the open access and the food was fine. The openness to the outside.
Food was great and everything we ordered was at happy hour prices.
The best Prime Rib French Dip in Phoenix
Great waiter. He impressed all of us by working hard and knowing the menu.
So disappointed. What happened? Been there 4 times with family. Kids got us gift cert. for Xmas. Went Friday nite with relatives to whom we raved about the restaurant. Server was great, selecting great wine over house. Ordered apps. Good. No one took app plates away. Salads arrived along with prime rib. Waiter apologized, insisting he input order to serve salad first. Ok. Strike one.
However...prime rib was OK. NOT like the serving a year ago. Small cut. Rels ordered medium and we were all served rare.
Mashed potatoes were good, but less of. So disappointed as we tauted the prime rib and establishment so highly.
Probably won't go back.
Kicker was that the $75 gift certicate didn't work and we put entire meal on AmEx. Manager did come to table and will hopefully get issue resolved.
My friend and I had a lovely and affordable lunch. Good food, good drinks, good service. My second time there and I will return!
Awesome as always
Valentines Day and no problem and no waiting ! Even had a valentine couple special offering that had to be the best deal in town! One of our favorite restaurants!
Always friendly efficient service and fine, fine food!
Good food..for a reasonable price. Good happy hour pricing on drinks. Employees were all friendly and attentive
Unbelievably bad customer service. Took a reservation for Valentine's Day and when we got there, told us they were serving appetizers only. Had no interest in making good for it. I was completely embarrassed. Will never give them my business again.
Great place for Happy Hour!
We love The Salty Sow. have been there many times and especially love the lamb burger. Unfortunately it has been dropped from the menu "just to change things up" according to the chef via our waiter. that's a shame. we will go back when the lamb burger is reinstated but probably not before that.
Good food and apparently the only restaurant (as opposed to chain fast food place) in the area for miles.
