Great meal! Has become our favorite spot in Beaufort.
Great food as usual. Atmosphere is one of the best in SC.
Service was a little slow between courses and check delivery, etc. However overall experience was great. We drove down from Columbia just to visit Saltus.
I had Miso soup and Tile fish and my wife had shrimp and grits. Delicious!
We are part timers in Beaufort and always make dining with you a priority! Amazing!
The fish specials are outstanding every time. I had the snapper with snap peas and mint rice. I was a bit skeptical about the rice but it was delicious. The snap peas were exceptional. We go mainly for the fresh oysters on the half shell because they have the best selection. Saltus never disappoints!
The food was excellent, nice view of the river, and server was superb! We look forward to coming back!
The food was great! The ice cream at the end of our meal was great too. So appreciate all of the Happy Anniversary wishes from all staff. Thank you to everyone at Saltus for making the evening nice for us.
Chelsea our server was excellent. Her recommendations were what we ordered. Can’t ask for a better server!! Muscles, shrimp grits l and goat cheese salad were excellent.
The menu reflects Lowcountry roots of serving fresh, local ingredients. Accompaniments are seasonal & inspired. Ask for the Sushi Chef's choice! The "spirit" professionals are well-informed & create superb concoctions (we like Luke).
Service mostly EXPERT take it easy on the new guys, they will emerge & become comfortable after a few weeks.
The wine menu is satisfactory & unchanged for at least the past 1.5 years. You may submit a corkage fee to bring your own (be mindful the fee is per bottle).
Overall refreshing, great ambience (waterview) with an outside dining option.
Saltus has a respectful reputation & remains my Beaufort favorite!
We took our guest there for their first time. They seemed to enjoy themselves. It’s one of our go to restaurants
Great atmosphere and food. Always a good experience.
Our meal was fantastic, we ordered the New York Strip entrée. It was so flavorful and the presentation was excellent. I love the decor in this restaurant, it has such a lively upbeat vibe. Our server was very very good and so personable. It was a very special night!
Fabulous night out with girlfriends! Everything was spectacular. I will return soon !
We always gravitate to Saltus for the Mussels meunière and Sushi!
Bar is always fun and you will see someone you know and the view isn’t have bad either! ❤️
This our 5th year coming here for our anniversary , it was perfect, we had the same server as last year( Frankie ) she was awesome, she took great care of us. The food was off the chain good. We are looking forward to next year! Greg & Sue Gresham
Both orders of flounder, which was the special,, were overcooked.
Visited Saltus Grill for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Nicholas our server was great. He made the evening more enjoyable. Nice water view table and excellent food. I was somewhat disappointed that the restaurant did not offer a free dessert to my wife and actually other than a "happy birthday" nothing more was said about this special occasion. There is no need to ask if it a special occasion if you are not going to recognize it somehow. I am also trying to understand why a wedge salad is called a "steakhouse salad" when it is necessary to pay another $12 to have the steak, I asked one of the servers and she didn't know why either. All in all a nice evening and we will probably go back again when we can sit outside.
You cannot go wrong with any dish or drink at Saltus! The fiesta fried tile fish over grits special was out of this world!
The food was good and table service wonderful. The noise level was unpleasant and made it hard to converse. Front desk, reception people were unpleasant to deal with
Good service, nice food pretty sparse portions value-wise. Tiny piece of fish on the grill menu<3 ounces.
We had a lovely birthday dinner at Saltus. The staff were very accommodating and the food was delicious as usual.
What a perfect evening at Saltus! I enjoyed my delicious cocktail while I watched the sunset. My husband raved about his oysters and our entrees were incredible. We were there on a Friday evening and the place was jammed. Thank goodness we had made a reservation.
Food was delicious and the service was great.
Great service and food. The wine list was very good and priced right. The shrimp cocktail was really special as it was local shrimp and very fresh, the cocktail sauce was excellent. I eat out a lot and this would be one of the top restaurants I have had the pleasure to dine in.
A last night to get together with friends who were visiting for the first time since they moved from Beaufort. The 5 of us had a delightful evening enjoying good food and wine,
We made a reservation 4 days in advance but got stuck in a small two-top crammed in a corner between a wall and noisy 4-top. The hostess refused our request for another table as a regular customer was coming soon expecting that specific spot. “Signature” old fashioned was weak, oysters were ok but not well shucked, wife’s salad came without dressing and had to be returned to server. Once she finished the salad her silverware was taken away and not replaced so when our entrees came we then had to flag down a server to get another set which delayed our meal further. Poorly trained staff who were friendly but inept. The grilled dorado was very good and the sides of grits with stewed tomatoes and sautéed spinach were excellent. Wine was ok but pricey. Lime tart was excellent and the pour of Gran Marnier was generous but for a total bill exceeding $200 the overall value of the meal was very disappointing. Considering what we were ordering and the money we were spending on an off-season Sunday evening with a reservation made well in advance I generally expect much better service, accommodation and better bar drinks. We certainly won’t go back. Many better options are available at this price point.
my wife and I liked the creative cooking that was used. Light, fresh food with distinctive flavors. the dark chix meat confit could be served with just the vegetables, "dump" the dumplings, make it 2 leg quarters or 1 back half with just the veggies and have another entree.. service and ambiance very good, makes u feel comfortable and at home.
Saltus River Grill offers the Lowcountry the ultimate experience in fine dining. In a sophisticated, yet cozy, waterfront setting, Saltus River Grill has crafted the perfect dining combination: an extensive wine and cocktail list; an eclectic menu of chef's creations, small plates, and sushi; and professionally trained servers. It is our choice for everything from family celebrations to intimate happy hours on the waterfront patio.
Great service and excellent food. A place to go with a special person. We
The food was great, however the portions were not. We waited for an hour and 15 for our food to come. When your reservation isn’t until 8:30 and it takes that long to get your food, you are starving. It was a nice experience, but we probably won’t go back.
Shrimp and grits !! Yes you have to eat and enjoy !!!
We took some family to Saltus for Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed their Pre-chosen meal. Service was impeccable and the food was outstanding.
Food was good, but I though $75 each was a little much for what was served.
Came on Valentine night with my wife. It was our first time and we will be back. Thank you for everything.
Very nice restaurant, with a well prepared menu for their valentine meal.
We went for Valentines Day. The prefix menu was absolutely awesome. We usually dine at what I call white tablecloth restaurants and this one is at the top of my list.
Went for Valentines Day. Fixed dinner. Yikes! Way overpriced.
Like stupid crazy overpriced. We both had the lobster. Frozen. What?
Have been here one other time and quite good, on the fence whether we will go back.
